What he was doing was the exact opposite of his intended goal. Doing a complete 180 from your previous persona does not, in fact, divert attention from yourself, but draws it to you. The gopher's response was completely not believable.

While Clark could get away with saying, "I've decided to quit wearing contacts and go back to my glasses", for instance, changing from the gung-ho gogetter into the meek and mild nerd (but not changing your style of dress, hairstyle, etc) instantly is not really conducive to maintaining your disguise. It makes it look like you have something to hide.
  2. I think Tom was trying a bit too hard to mimic the mannerisms of Chris Reeves w/ the glasses. But it was nice seeing him in them, though the immediate 180 from the gopher guy was a bit much.

You're secretly Douglas Adams! That groucho nose and glasses set isn't fooling anyone!

    ...

Oh wait...there's four issues in the series? Hmm...that makes 24...

    Revised hypothesis! You're Jack Bauer!

  5. Just out of curiosity, but do you know how many copies of each issue were printed?

Ya, I sent one as well, quoting the description of the forum itself and Rule 8. MLP is clearly within the bounds of discussibility. In particular, it would be permitted, IMO, under the "action figures" and "your favorite characters".

Got no response and I forgot to put a Read Receipt on it. >.<
  7. Oh, I can understand the principle. I just don't understand the motivation for someone who has only posted 5 times to have that as an impetus to post.

Besides, didn't David also plug some of the comics he was doing? And well, it's a comic forum. It's not measurably different, IMO, than my anime thread or Foamie's TPB thread.

Double-secret probation is ok...it's when they put you on ultra top secret triple with a cherry on top probation, that you have to watch out for.

(Thus ignoring all differing lore that predates and postdates that specific stereotype.)
All vampires are pale-skinned, black-haired females in their late 20's who like to wear skintight dresses that are cut to the navel.

I don't know where you are getting this stereotype that they're all *ick* dudes...

Apparently, you are unaware as to who Troy is.

He wrote three of the City of Heroes comics, has a guest author arc in the MA, and one of the items from his comic run made it into the game proper (the statue in front of the tram in King's Row). That's in addition to being a forum regular and pantsless wunderkind.

If you're not interested, you're not interested, but you might learn something about the person you are dismissing.

(Did I overstep there Troy? My apologies if so.)
  10. Cannot get over how unbelieveably horrible the new Kotaku layout is.

    Chuck 2/14/11

    Hmm...Chuck's Angels...

Also, LDP looked like Chris Parnell with a beard in this episode.

They had both CoV and CoH this time around. Also some Guild Wars boxes in there too.

Don't know much (anything) about Green Arrow's comic history so if Cheshire's old enough there to have a teen daughter, this is just someone using her appearance, or a complete rewrite.
I peg her closer to 30-35.
  13. For some animated movies:

I want to say the original Ghost In The Shell movie, but am unsure if it would pass muster for rating.

The second Urusei Yatsura movie, Beautiful Dreamer. It's kinda like Groundhog Day in the fact that the characters involved keep living the same day over and over. It's based on a Japanese fairy tale and is a very good movie. 98 minutes long. It's Unrated, BUT my dvd case says, "Suitable for most audiences", so take it as you will.

What does it lose? Not a whole lot. If we are presuming that Cheshire is Artemis' mom, then that makes Speedy a lot older than he should be to be hanging around with a bunch of kids who are still in high school, given Artemis' age. She obviously has some relationship with Artemis, whether it be mother or not, if only knowing whatever secret she has. If, however, we presume GA is the dad (rightly or wrongly), and given the older appearance of Cheshire, then the age can fit for a youthful indiscretion on GA's part.

Using your argument, one cannot have the Crime Syndicate. There's little to no point to having alternate universes if they cannot differ from the mainline universe.

You have to remember, this ISN'T Primal Earth (or Earth-1 or whatever nomenclature it has). This is a completely separate Earth that doesn't have the same continuity as the other. Ollie could very well be Artemis' daddy. Given their rather...interesting...way of stating her relation to him, it isn't that far-fetched a scenario.
  19. Pretty obvious she's GA's kid with Cheshire as the mommy. Or at least my take on it. There's another Artemis, namely the redhead hottie that trains Supergirl on Wonder Island.

    Hmm.

Of course, you could keep the numbers high and just up the shard drop rate.
I have gotten a grand total of zero shards while playing solo +0 to +1/8. I'm lucky if I get 2-3 shards per TF. There's been times that I've gotten completely shafted and only gotten 1.

Seems my luck with getting purple drops has transferred to shards now.

The Young Justice placement map. Remember, it's a different Earth so city locations as compared to "normal" Earth may be off. That places Gotham in CT.

Or is my brain just not working right (again)?

JJ could become a Forge-like. Or possibly Gizmo.

For Steph, should could become a Synapse-like. Generate static electricity and use it for attacks. Or, just look at what Flash can do. Though granted, Flash has the Speed Force.
  24. Forgot to add that I also thought, "She's a Bene Gesserit now?" when MRG spoke to the thug and to dad later on.
  25. I could hear the DING! when Mind-Reader Girl stopped the thug.
