Not really that difficult. You set the requirement such that the player needs either <x> number of day job badges (then increase that number by whatever additions are made) or individually list out the badge names/settitle numbers ala Freedom Phalanx accolade (and then update that list if/when more day job names are put in). Those who earn it in an earlier iteration would still have it and those coming later would have to earn it under the new requirements.

    *shrug*

Edit - Also, SG Beacons. I earned mine back about 2 explore badge increases ago.
  2. Bribing people to switch to the "new" (I put new in quotes because that is essentially the "old" launcher from the Tabula Rasa/Dungeon Runners/Auto Assault days) launcher? That's...kinda sad...

And having to click that stupid EULA upon login is a pain. Having the Next->I Agree right under each other was quick and painless. I know it's a minor gripe, but I don't like mousing over to that stupid thing on every login. Wouldn't it be possible to have a setting that remembers it being "read" and only unremembers when a change to it has been made? Also, have an option to read it, not that anyone ever really reads those wastes of bytes.

And lose bits in the process. Much like no Dune movie has had Paul's mother ask him, after the duel in the sietch and his feeling victorious, how it feels to be a murderer.)
Though the SciFi Dune movie did have Paul at Jamis' funeral stating what he learned from him. But they also left out the part about Harrah and Paul assuming responsibility for Jamis' sons, iirc, from both attempts at the movie.

The SciFi version is probably about as close as one could hope to get for something of the scope of Dune.

See, I didn't really mind DVC. I wouldn't buy it on DVD, but for a cheap matinee (I only go to matinees unless I have a freebie pass for a night version), it was an acceptable diversion.

But District 9? Watchmen? Blade Runner? Horrible, horrible movies that I feel cheated for having watched.

At least some of the BR devotees saw it originally at release, like I did w/ my dad, which tends to make a picture much more of an epic experience, depending on the material, of course.
I remember it making an indelible imprint on my squishy young mind, dark, brooding, and it stared Han Solo. ymmv
Of course, one cannot discount this. Example: Ice Pirates was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I saw it quite a bit on HBO and the like. I got the DVD and it doesn't quite hold up. I still love it to pieces, but I can recognize its faults now. I can look past those faults and enjoy it.

Blade Runner, however, does not get that same pass because I don't have that emotional attachment. Seeing it now without the benefit of nostalgia glasses leaves me with, "Why did I watch that?".

I found District 9 to be an absolutely horrible movie all around. Hated the entire thing. For one thing, it starts out as a mockumentary then switches midstream into something else, while maintaining the same cinematic style, namely the shakey cam/faux home movie style. For another, there was not a single likable character in the entire damn thing.

The only half decent thing in D9 was the special effects. Otherwise, D9 was an absolutely painful movie to watch.

Michael Bay's Transformers? I accept them for what they are. SFX fests and explosions along with Peter Cullen's voicing of Optimus. I waited 20 years for a live-action Transformers flick, so a certain amount of fan-glossing is to be expected. Was it what I had hoped for? Nope. But it was entertaining.

Never read the book so I can't comment on it's depth or relation to the source material.

I just know from the viewing I had of it, that it wasn't an enjoyable movie for me. I'd love to get back those hours of my life.

    Perhaps so.

But Blade Runner was one of those movies that I struggled to sit completely through. And even then, I couldn't watch it in one sitting. I had to space it out over 3 or so nights because it was boring.
  7. Maybe they'll actually make Blade Runner good this time around...
  8. Archer is basically Frisky Dingo Season 3+. Only without Xander, the Xticles, Killface, Simon, etc. Shame that [as] didn't renew FD for a real third season and that 70/30 closed down.

  10. Finished off Excel Saga and continuing through the discs of Cardcaptor Sakura and Eureka 7. Got my re-release collection of FLCL, along with a P! free keychain.

Gonna work on collecting more of the Urusei Yatsura discs, since they are officially OOP now. I've got 5 out of ~50... >.<

The one 3D movie I've seen (Green Hornet), the glasses weren't so much heavy as they were awkward and ill-fitting. I noticed how they fit on my ears more than the weight on the nose. And ya, that's over regular glasses as well. If I have the option, I won't be seeing any more 3D movies as that additional $2.50 is really not worth it.

I don't know about the creator, but the main character VA is Coach McGuirk from Home Movies, iirc.

BB grew on me. At first I was meh about it, but the ep that did it for me was the one where Bob was trapped inside the walls of his place. I'm willing to cut it slack on the animation as, well, I've watched a lot of cartoons in my life and unless it's something truly odd (like One Piece), I'll try to look past any defects.
  13. Wish I could've seen the entire episode. The CW affiliate cutout about halfway through the ep.

That being said, loved it when Clark woke up. That was an epic party. The lemur was a nice touch.

Fringe: It comes from the same school of storytelling as Twin Peaks, X-Files and Lost. Show a bunch of weird stuff for the sake of showing a bunch of weird stuff and it doesn't matter if it amounts to nothing or makes zero sense. Not a fan of this school of storytelling. At all.
You must've missed this entire season and more. There is an overarching storyline, at least now. Namely, the disintegration of the universes caused by Walter. It has went from freak of the week to something more.

Hoping that the ITF will get me to the 50 badge or at least very close to it.
I wouldn't do SPTF more than the once for the Notice. Simply because the under-50 stuff isn't dropping shards. I definitely wouldn't waste time trying to progress Partner on it.

It might have had a reason for it, but was a weak name. it's rather symbolic of the show itself. It had some fun ideas but it needed to really try harder.
There is one thing that puts me off of The Cape...

Everyone looks orange. Like literally just got done with really cheap spray tans.
  17. Well, we got picked to do the Nielsen or whatever tv diary this last week and I made sure to watch Chuck, Fringe, The Cape, Hawaii 5-0 (though it was DVR'd), Castle, V, No Ordinary Family, and Bob's Burgers.

I enjoy Bob's Burgers a LOT more than The Cleveland Show. Hope it doesn't go bye-bye. What gets me is that the snooze fest of TCS is Officially Renewed, but American Dad isn't officially yet (nor Family Guy for that matter, but FG is pretty meh nowadays).

Smallville thing...to be fair it's not on the Endangered List. It's on the Won't Be Back List on the second page.

Sorry but no. Any base revamp MUST take into account the things in storage. Deleting stuff or otherwise removing items from storage would really be one of the stupidest things they could possibly do. People have come to depend on the storage there, especially those who managed to keep the Legacy containers, if only for Brainstorm conversions.

Like I said, they could do it in such a way that it doesn't remove stuff. It would be more work to implement the system correctly, but that would be preferable to arbitrarily deleting stuff. I don't have it in me to try and start over.

Though their past history with the Base Salvage removal does not inspire me with a lot of confidence.

Only problem with ripping them out is the fact that to do so would most likely destroy any and all stored salvage/enhancements/insps/etc. That would NOT go over very well. One has to work with that fact. I know that I have a personal salvage museum containing each piece of Base Salvage that had dropped at some point. As well as multiple enhancement bins containing a LOT of IOs.

Now, what might be possible to do is to create a separate system and allow a Move command of all stored items (NOT deleting anything, even if it goes over the container limit, see Legacy Salvage Bins) to the new system. The Move would prevent dupin' rares that could be done by Copying, removal of stuffs, Copy again, etc. Once moved, the old base is archived away. An Archive would prevent loss of items during the move, but would only be accessible to GMs and CS people to take care of any issues that arise.
  21. I do hope they take the criticism as something that they really should improve on. Bases have pretty much languished from the start of the game. Some of the things that have been suggested in the past really should be revisited and at least attempted.

That book that Morgan had behind the Star Wars guys? I've got it. Along with a Jabba the Hutt like Morgan's.

Had to laugh at the shellshocked look of Ellie and Awesome. Even moreso when they realied it was Jeffster that was going to help them out.

And yes, the tantric antics of Morgan and Alex was funny. Had to snicker at Sarah's little pop-out wings.

Actually, I think I'll finish up Leader before Partner. Currently at somewhere around 68% towards Leader, but only have four ticks on the 10 Assists badge. A TF or Mothership raid will usually net me (depending upon if it's a speed run or not) 1-2% or more towards Leader.

Though that's after over six years of playing that character. Hit Popular sometime shortly before issue 19, iirc.
