Yes, Laurie could as well, I agree. I just don't think he's grizzled enough.
Have you seen any of the ads for a series called House? Laurie's in it as the title character. He's pretty grizzled looking in it. He's no longer the foppish Prince George (though he'll always be that character to me, just like Harrison Ford is Han Solo, Arnold is the Terminator, Stallone is Rambo, Rowan Atkinson is Black Adder, etc).

Hugh Laurie. That's pretty durn grizzled. Though not as grizzled as that one old SNL sketch of who is more grizzled.

    Also...grizzled.
  2. The chubby guy that plays opposite Simon Pegg for Fred Colon!

Come to think of it, Hugh Laurie might make a good Sam Vimes.

Coming up blank on who could play Carrot, Angua, and Nobby though. Vetinari would have to be included as well. Can't have a Watch story without the Patrician.

Given the universe that has stargates plus beaming technology, it makes sense for military installations to have multiple weapons lockers around the base (especially near a known weak point - the stargate). When you may be forced to respond to a beam-in situation or an invasion via stargate (can't remember if that one was cut off from the main network or not), you can't be running back to a secured armory for reloads or arming.

Also given that the only people that should be on-base are those who have been cleared for off-planet work (or visitation), security in the sense of having everything under lock and key takes a backseat to faster response time, IMO.
  5. The Watch better be on BBCA...
  6. Miss Martian is just too cute. <3 Also, when was she in a cheerleader costume? That seemed to be thrown in there. Naturally, things have happened other than what we've seen, but that's kinda...random.

Let's see...Psimon, Boom Tube, whatever the roller thingie is, and hints of Artemis' past. Doesn't Ollie have an archer-nemesis?

Ya, my area only gets Frankenberry & Booberry once a year (generally about the middle of October to about the middle of November, depending upon how long the supply lasts), if that. Some years we don't get any of the good stuff. I think it's one or two shipments tops.

There's a happy medium between SG-1's superheroics and the deeply, deeply flawed & 99% unlikable characters on the Destiny.

    *SPOILERS*

As to the episode itself, I finally watched it. I don't know if it's me or what, but once they got that drone on-board I figured they would go for an IFF plot device. I mean, those drones have to have some way of identifying themselves from the targets.

And having the second command ship take over the drones from another ship would be bad in the sense that if someone gained control of the one C&C, they could gain control of the weapons of the other ships. Granted, a check along the lines of "IF command.codepresence = NULL THEN command.ship = new.commandIFF" wouldn't be too out of line, presuming they are using the same OS version in both command vessels.
  9. Shame that he wasn't promoted to Admiral. Now, we just need to make sure that caffeinated bacon and baconated grapefruit happens.

Miss the last sentence of the paragraph?

Haven't had a bowl of CC in a long time. About the only cereal I eat anymore is the occassional bowl of stocked-up Frankenberry or Booberry. Buy about a dozen boxes once a year during the single time they are sold here.
  11. That shrew (? the little girl char w/the hat and pigtails) girl is hilarious. Especially when she pulls out the suitcase with the dual revolvers.

Their plan is a plan with a capital Plan. The "Plan" is some nebulous goal that isn't really defined in the movie. Ideally, few if any people outside of the Bureau know about it.
  13. I think it's safe to say that The Cape is done. Read something on AintItCool that said it's 10th episode (they cut the initial order from 13 to 10 - itself a bad sign) won't be aired on TV, but you can watch it online. How true that is? Dunno. Wouldn't surprise me.
  14. This is the show that tried to outLost Lost. I just kinda stopped watching it. Got real tired of that guy trying to find his squeeze and the "Ooooh, what are they?!?!" angle.
  15. Managed a Master of Apex with no healers or debuffers. Was quite surprised that happened. Failed a second Master of Apex that had two Thermals and a Rad (didn't get Battle Maiden dead in 15).

All I can say is "Bwah?".
  16. I don't really think the conspiracy angle was at all a focus of the movie. I mean, after all, they basically come right out and say that they are guiding humanity according to the Plan. I'm not even sure if there was much of a conspiracy at all, beyond keeping the bulk of humanity unaware of such actions.
  17. Also, it kinda felt like Depp was channeling Kermit the Frog in some of the scenes in Rango.

NOF managed in one episode to give us the superpowered fight that Heroes couldn't do in four seasons.
  19. Saw both today and they were both very good.

Rango - Animation is top-notch. Especially apparent in the scenes with Jake and then the sand dunes. Laughed quite a bit. There's even an homage to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but you'd only know it if you've seen the movie.

Adjustment Bureau - Based on a short story by Philip K. Dick called the Adjustment Team, iirc. I'd been wanting to see it since I saw the trailers and it didn't disappoint me. It's one of those movies/stories that make a weird kind of sense, like it could be a legitimate explanation. It's things like that that move a movie up, IMO.
  20. Think it's Dick. I seem to recall something in the episode where Robin goes to WayneTech and he used an override.

Hell, now I'm scared to attempt this. It's been 6.5 years since I set up my account. Hell if I can remember anything from it. Most days, I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for breakfast, much less something more than half a decade ago.

Edit - Well, what do you know. Got it in one. But gotta say, that captcha image is horrendous. Can't distinguish half the letters.

I don't know. It's been a long time since that first batch of additional explore badges got put in. I can't recall with any certainty, but I think it affected the RWZ beacon.

A "gift" for switching early and overwriting your old shortcuts, meaning you can't use your old launcher for whatever time remains if you don't like the new thing? Still sad.

There was a reason I never used the multi-launcher back when there was a lot more games under the NCSoft banner, despite having played several of them. Continually advertising Guild Wars, Lineage, and Aion is not going to get me to sub to those games.
