I blame it on the fact that I specialized in Groundwater Geology. Did much homework with hydraulic head, gradients, and all kinds of other stuff that I've forgotten in the last few years.
-
Finally watched the episode...
Thoughts:
I don't think the windows were out on the pharmacy. There was that sign up saying to Take What You Need. May be mistaken, but it looked relatively intact. Plus, those horses would be a good early warning system.
Maggie is still kewt. Shame all we got was sideboob.
A barb wire fence is pretty ****** protection against zomboids. Those things are a pain in the *** to keep up. Every year I have to go out and fix ours from idiot deer jumping into 'em plus snow/ice weighing them down.
Lori had to go all the way out into the field to take the test? Aren't there, ya know, bathrooms in that house? Granted, it is Georgia and they just got electricity down there a few weeks prior to the zombocalpyse, but you'd think indoor plumbing might be available to 'em.
Depending on where in the hydraulic gradient that that well was, there's a chance that every well on their property is now contaminated. That well looked to be on the top of a hill, so I wouldn't drink from any of the wells there. The fact that a swimmer managed to get into it in the first place means their fencing is not doing an adequate job of protecting, IMO. -
To figure out the date of the next Token giving, one needs to use the following formula:
(number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin * the number of quarks in a proton) / (amount of horsewhipping necessary for programmers to work * the square root of the Vikings chance of winning the Super Bowl this year)
Take that number, then toss it right the hell out and use a Magic 8 Ball to determine when it'll actually happen. -
Looks like they were deposited today. Guess I have apparently been getting 550, rather than 400, for the other two months.
-
My monthly points were finally deposited sometime between my last post and today. Got 550 this time instead of 400 (iirc, the 400 that is).

Quote:Harold even says something along the lines of "Hasn't 3D jumped the shark by now?" in the beginning. Now I'm definitely going to have to see H&K in 3d though if they make full use of and fun of the gimmick.
It was definitely done in a parodical and spoofy manner. The movie did not take the 3D "seriously" and had fun with it. -
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas.
Srsly.
Granted, the movie wasn't quite as funny as the first two, but was overall a decent enough flick. There were enough shout outs and callbacks to the first two, as well as making fun of Kal Penn having worked for the White House. -
I'm not convinced that it's actually malfunctioning. I'm starting to think that that is what it was the Intersect is supposed to do. Chuck was somehow special. Either that or the glasses were a trap from that CIA guy with an altered program that slowly overwrites the subject's base personality.

Well...that was a big ol' pile of CoV boxes right in the foreground and very visible. With a couple of CoH boxes thrown in for good measure. Would be nice if they had GR boxes though.
And the Halo Wars poster in the background.
It may just be me, but Sarah was looking kinda...rough around the edges...at that presentation. -
Quote:See, the mistake I made was thinking each of those gave a separate (and cumulative) token rather than just one token despite how many of those separate things a person may have. That was included. Highlighted line.
You only get 1 token for a retail account no matter how many retail codes are applied to that account.
You could have any or all these:- City of Heroes basic
- City of Heroes Collectors Edition DVD
- City of Heroes Deluxe Edition (Europe only)
- City of Villains
- City of Villains Collectors Edition DVD
- Good Vs Evil Retail
- Architect Edition
- Mac/Valkyrie Edition
- Going Rogue on-line code
- Going Rogue: Complete Collection (either the retail or full complete edition code)

Quote:Thank you Aggelakis.28 tokens for 28 vet badges
07 tokens for 7 years
01 token for retail account
01 token for having an account
= 37 tokens (September would not have been a new Veteran Reward under the old system so no token for September)
01 token for points
01 token for October
= 39 tokens
You're squared up. You'll get November's token near the end of the month.
I coulda sworn there was something in there about retail boxes giving a Token, but I musta been wrong. *shrug*
It's not like there's anything I can really buy after all with the Tokens I do have. They still haven't switched out Celestial for whatever comes next and I'm not really wasting any on that Tier 9 stuff. -
-
Go look up the Transformers G1 Shockwave or the GI Joe U.S.S. Flagg on eBay. The Flagg has had crazy prices, especially for those still sealed up.
I've actually got a HeroQuest box. I don't think it's got everything, but it's pretty close I'd say. Found it in a antique store for like $15. -

I had 37 Reward Tokens at launch of Freedom. I have been paying continuously since August 31, 2004 with no breaks. I've gotten 2 tokens since it started, one for first Points purchase and one sometime prior to Oct. 28th (filled everything but the Tier 9 non-VIP stuff). I've received 2 sums of 400 Paragon Points, which was used for Beam Rifle and Street Justice, iirc. So far, I have not received November's 400pts (as of last night). Have not checked today so far.
Have I missed/been screwed out of Tokens? -
Quote:The Bishoujo line is pretty neat. I've got the Psylocke, Batgirl, Catwoman, Emma Frost, Lucy the Ghostbuster, and Supergirl.I don't really have any, sadly. I have three Gundam models my brother in law and I put together a long time ago. =/
There's a lot that I want though. That Karas one looks awesome, the Marvel and DC Bishoujo line looks cool, SH Figuarts Wild Tiger, and other stuff. So little time, so little money. :'( -
Quote:Otis and Shane, yes. However, they are also making a supply run. They probably wouldn't want to risk weakness or lightheadedness while doing so. They can be excused. Otis is already behind the 8-ball with his tubbiness. Do you want to add to that?Shane is also a cop so by the same logic should have known his. Otis was an EMT, so you'd think he would know his, and probably his wife's. I ruled out the doctor since even if he was a possible donor, you don't want him operating if he's a pint low, but as prepared as they otherwise were, I'd think he too would know his and the other woman's (his wife?).
Patricia? She's the doc's (apparent) assistant. I wouldn't want someone operating or assisting in operation to be low on blood.
Maggie? She could be a possible, provided a matching type.
Quote:I didn't see the latest episode yet because of the power outages in the northeast, but the recap I read said that Rick was going to donate more blood but the doctor wouldn't let him due to the risk of heart failure. Seems to me, that's a pretty dire situation.
I'll just chalk it up to sloppy writing and leave it at that. However, I am going to take a poll in my office tomorrow to see what percentage of say 20 people know what their blood type is. I'm betting it will be over 50%.
I wouldn't be surprised if its less than half. -
My Masterpiece Grimlok, 25th Anniversary Superion, a bunch of the 20th Anniversary GI Joe vehicles, and 2 25th Anniversary Soundwaves aren't leaving their boxes (probably). Heck, I've still got an alternate coloring Tartanulas from Beast Wars (gray/black rather than his purply-blue-red stuff) MONQMC (mint on not quite mint card) and a sealed Machine Wars Optimus Prime.
-
They might not have known what their blood types are. Rick I can see knowing his, because he's a cop. Might be important to him. Lori, probably knows hers. There's also the potential there for blood-borne diseases that the others might have.
The rest? Maybe they've never had a reason to know it or have forgotten it. I know I've had to ask my parents what mine is a time or two. -
Well, they've advertised it as the Final Season and sticking it on the Friday night slot says that it's done.
-
Quote:Wouldn't that just be the Fat Man from Fallout 3?Oh man, I can see it now...
There'd be slingshots that shoot out machetes. Slingshots that shoot out grenades. Slingshots that shoot out tanks. Slingshots that shoot out other slingshots that shoot out dogs that shoot out bees from their mouths.
It'd be carnage! Bloody ****ing carnage! -
Quote:Might not be able to smell you, but they can probably still hear you, if only for a while. There's also the apparent herd instinct wherein one zombie will follow another one. Unless they are all on fire, then there'll still be those that can see/hear/smell you.But if they are on fire can they smell you?
And why didn't they just scoop up some zombie guts and try to saunter for their lives?
Zombie guts probably don't work when they already know you are there. -
Just going to have +1 the entire NGE: Shinji Ikari Raising Project line. You know how dark and depressing the NGE anime is? Well, this is the exact opposite of that.
Gendo being a helicopter parent who actually cares about his kid rather than an all-around d-bag? Yui being a mother rather than goo? Misato and Kaji being adversarial teachers? Asuka's mother not being dead?
It's pretty dang funny in places. -
Well, I got the Transfer token today, but no 400 pts. My account renewal date is on Jan. 1st.

Quote:Fire doesn't consume them instanteously. It'll take a bit for the muscles to be rendered useless.I'd imagine that being consumed by fire would also mean that you won't be able to walk for long. Not feeling pain doesn't make them fire proof. Also, I can't imagine they're eyes to be fire resistant, so they'd be blinded pretty quickly, too. They can't get you if they can't see you.
It also depends upon the type of fire you are using. Is it jellied fuel-based? Alcohol-based? Butane-based? Each one has different heat points and heck, some zombies may just be soggy enough that they aren't going to catch on fire right away.
Quote:As for potential fire outbreak... Are you really going to stop and compare that to being eaten alive? I know I won't when in the middle of running. Beside, that zombie crowd was in a street, not the forest. Low risk for high gain in my opinion.
Fire should be an absolute last resort. Only considered after everything from shotguns to badgers-onna-stick have been used up.
