It was alright. One redeeming factor was the Gods vs Titans fight. That was great. They could've at least named some of the other gods though. The only one that was named was Athena (other than Zeus) and Poseidon/Neptune based on the trident and water motif. It did have an interesting take on the Minotaur though.
One thing that bothered me...the Wall. They put a staircase right up to the top on the interior of the outer edge. WTF? That, and the fact that that corridor was not lined with murder slits and hot oil/tar drop points. -
Quote:Even Darryl makes the joke that it didn't have any pictures, so no, I don't feel bad about making the Georgia joke.
Yeah it was horribly stereotypical when you consider it was Daryl (the supposed "backward Georgia redneck") who was the one who was -reading- the book in this episode. -
Quote:Counterargument:I've figured out what the walkers eat to survive when there is nothing living to eat. They eat books.
Look at the facts. The group has repeatedly gone into houses, stores, schools, and they have searched tons of vehicles. And yet they only have one book to read and it isn't a very good one.
Walkers have eaten all the other books and magazines.
It is Georgia.
(Yes, yes, I know, horribly stereotypical.) -
Quote:See, it makes sense in the context that Herschel is an idiot. He's unwilling to accept that the people with bits falling off are nothing more than lepers just waiting to get better. He's in extreme denial because his wife and stepson are in the barn. He can't accept the fact that his former loved ones now want to nom on some tasty brains.I do not understanding wasting good food on Walkers. Even if you think they can recover, it's pretty clear they don't starve in any sense that we understand.
He probably also thinks he's being compassionate and a martyr in feeding them, since it means less food for the ones not in the barn.
(Sidenote: They at least mentioned Lacey. In case anyone's wondering, that was the name of one of Maggie's sisters in the comics.) -
Now that was a good episode. Very little of the Sophia drama and some pretty big divergences from the comics. Methinks Dale is going to meet with a little...accident...at some point.

Quote:Constance may be quite creepy, but I don't think she's at the point where she'll scoop out someone's pink matter and feed it to another. An adult human's brain weighs about 3 lbs. That's exactly what I thought. I've never seen calf's brains or anything, but that definitely had the size and shape I associate with the human brain.
However, a pig brain, is similar in shape to a human brain. Given that Constance gave her pig organs before, it's not far fetched to believe that she'd give her a pig brain.
It always gets my goat when they show someone being strangled with a plastic bag. You'd think, maybe, just maybe, someone would think, "Hey, if I rip the bag, I can breathe again!". -

Quote:It wouldn't really need to be a preexisting relationship. She could've been found by the people from <REDACTED> and taken to <REDACTED>, whether before or after being zombied. The distance between the various locales can't be that great. There's that, too. The preexisting relationship between the two characters just isn't there. And that relationship is a huge part of what made the whole thing so horrible.
I think at this point they know we want an answer about Sophia and I feel like not creating any closure for the audience is a bad move. Even if they don't let the characters know what happened to her, I think they need to let the viewers find out.
It would allow for a much more antagonistic relationship between Rick's group and <REDACTED> and set the stage for more confrontation.
Quote:Don't forget Morgan from episode one.
There's also the Mexican(?) family that took off during the first season. Though I doubt we'll ever see them again. -
Who knows? At the rate they're going that storyline won't come up till season 17.

Quote:I'm not talking the truly sick part of that character (the implied bit).I think I was thinking the same thing and if I'm right about us thinking the same thing then I doubt AMC will do it, which is why I didn't say anything. The idea is just too sick for TV.
They've already shown child zombies, what with that girl from the first episode, so it wouldn't be too far fetched. -
I wonder if Sophia is going to have anything to do with a certain person from the comics...

Quote:That guy wasn't Tyreese. Tyreese is a big, black, ex-football player with a penchant for smashing zombie heads with a hammer. He shows up with his daughter and her boyfriend in the comics. Can't remember if it was before or after Herschel's, but I think it was before.
Not sure if Carol's going to totally "shack up" with Daryl but clearly she's fairly overwhelmed and grateful that he would be willing to risk his own life to look for Sophia. Her relationship with Tyreese was obviously very abusive so her reactions to Daryl seem completely reasonable given the circumstances.
Quote:Oops mistype.
It just doesn't make sense when there doesn't seem to be any drawback of taking the arrow out, and it doesn't look like there's any stabilization to be had when you tie it down at the same point it's going through.
Quote:Did any of them have lines? And how long ago?
Quote:In the comic it seemed like they were only there for a week or two tops. And in the comic he pretty much said the same thing, but it was Rick who assumed they could stay. However, even when they discussed it further, Rick told Hershel (no "c" BTW ) he hoped he'd reconsider after seeing how useful they could be.
Quote:Did the kid mention the horse or just him going along? (And did they even show the kid in any of the search parties out in the woods?) It seemed like Daryl just took the horse without asking anyone. And then when they were getting ready to take care of that "zombie" out in the field, Rick mentioned Hershel wants to deal with them his own way (and when was this?) and Shane's just like, "**** that, let's go."
They did not show anyone out searching beyond Darryl, Shane and Rick.
Think it was last episode or possibly the one when they first reached the farm that Herschel didn't want to kill the zombies. Rick mentioned something about him not knowing what it's like out there. Again, not 100% sure.
Quote:And then the trophy necklace went in is mouth later! Did you see?
Quote:I'd think he'd be more concerned with the wound. But the trophy necklace was a stupid way to play up his badassery anyway.
They might've just assumed that the blood was from the zombies, rather than him. -
Iirc, there was an expansion released just prior to the NGE or whatever. I do believe that people did receive a refund. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Quote:It's "waist". "Waste" is something else entirely...
Would tying a piece of cloth around your waste on top of the arrow really help?
I was thinking that that was more to stabilize the arrow than anything else. Tie it around the arrow, then tie it around yourself, to keep it from moving and potentially causing more trauma, along with a modicum of tourniquet/blood soak.
Quote:Is it just me or did they totally skip over the introduction of those two other kids and are now acting like they've been there the whole time?
Quote:They certainly seem to be bringing out Hershel's dickishness earlier than they did in the comic; although, just why the hell is Rick's group so eager to piss off Hershel with their inconsideration?
Exactly what, beyond Glenn nailing Maggie is all that inconsiderate? They seem to be acting all right to me. Rick was willing to take that kid at his word that Herschel was ok with the horse and him going (though, yes, it wouldn't hurt to check with him).
Quote:Again, didn't you just use that knife to stab a zombie, and now you're cutting open your lunch with it?
Quote:Also, why did Glenn mention the trophy necklace and not Daryl's bloodloss? -
Quote:They did explain how the farm had electricity. When Rick came up to Herschel and Herschel mentioned the missing horse. Herschel was filling up the gas tank on a home generator, which BTW, was loud as hell and certainly not something I'd want running a lot.Would have been funny to have the barn zombies all on treadmills with live animals dangled in front of them to keep them walking. That would be a way to explain how the farm has electricty. Sort of a precursor to the Matrix.
Who knows? Maybe Herschel is the Architect! -
Quote:Wasn't the start of the episode panning around a group of cows out in the field? I also imagine Herschel has a store of canned/preserved foodstuffs like tomatoes, peas, beans, various potential fruits, etc., that tend to accumulate during the summer. All right. There we go. We finally got a payoff for all the time we've spent on the farm. I should have seen it coming. After all, the farm people sure seemed to have a lot of food on hand even though they didn't seem to have any pigs, chickens, or crops, at least, not on screen. Now, it makes sense.
By the way, am I mistaken, or did Daryl cut off a piece of a zombie's hand and then eat it?
Quote:Glenn and Maggie's exchanges were awkwardly carried off, but I thought they still managed to convey an exuberant spirit of 'found' desire after the end of the world.
Quote:I re-read a section of the Farm a couple of days ago, trying to pin down my memories of how Otis fit in the written story. It is interesting how his role in the show has become so crucial and moving, yet his absence come barn time will be noted (actually the entire household seems smaller on TV, which make events... much different).
Those two extras become important at the prison. -
Last two episodes. He's got the Nemesis and is planning on blowing the Ark to smithereens. That would wipe out the original Megs body, all the other Decepticons (including Ravage and Starscream, which would make a time paradox), along with Optimus Prime.
Granted, he did still (iirc) have the original Megatron's spark in his body. But the rest of the Decepticons would be screwed. -
I do not like that voicing of Waspinator. The original is much better, IMO.
-
Am I the only one that sees a flaw in Megatron's plan of destroying the Ark? I mean, if he blows that up, he also blows up original Megatron, which would kinda destroy, or at least severely inconvenience the surviving Decepticons, which would in turn impact the production of the Predacons.
Also...Waspinator has to be the most powerful of all Transformers. He comes back from EVERYTHING. -
Well...action should be in the next episode, hopefully.
Darryl is the guy I'd want on my zombie team. Dude is badass. Gets stabbed through with a quarrel (but damn, I hope he disinfects that thing from time to time), gets a concussion, ties the thing off/stabilizes it and starts climbing. Ok, the ear thing was a bit...much.
And *snort* to Glenn/Maggie. Especially the burn with the comment about 11 minutes.
Hasn't Herschel ever learned anything regarding the wimmenfolk? Tell 'em to not see a guy is the quickest damn route to them running off with 'em.And let's be honest, as far as potential mates go for Maggie, Glenn is head and shoulders above pretty much anything else she could even reasonably hope to find in post-zombpocalypse world. But of course, given his "reasoning" (as to be potentially shown next episode), wanting to shoo off Glenn makes sense.
Shame that they didn't include the other children that Herschel should've had. It makes some of the stuff to (potentially) come less impactful. -

Well, still at -3234230239459 cool. Which I think, loops me around to the far spectrum of cool.
