  1. Dude...

Thread title gave me hideous flashbacks of Inuyasha...

    "Inuyasha!"
    "Kagome!"
    "Inuyasha!"
    "Kagome!"
    "Inuyasha!"
    "Kagome!"
    "Inuyasha!"
    "Kagome!"

    Repeat for 200 episodes...

While they could do it, I don't think they will with those characters. Simply because it would go against pretty much everything Herschel has (presumably) taught Beth over the course of her life. I'm not talking just since Z-day, but the whole bit. And from what little we've seen of Jimmy, he doesn't seem the type to do it either.

Carol? Ya, I could see her doing it. Possibly even Patricia. It would be best to bring in some new characters that exist only for the purpose of showing that.

Though they might not even have to do it, since we've got the secret from CDC guy.

Given what happens to Tyreese's daughter and boyfriend, I can't really see those two being a replacement for that. Even though that is a very significant plot point for the series.

Still alive as of Volume 14.
  5. So what's up with Young Justice? Is the season over or what? Or are they pulling a Firefly and bumping it for any random thing?

TV show Herschel, not so much with the Job thing. At least so far. He's not lost nearly as much as others.

    Comic Herschel? A lot closer.

Well, had Herschel had the number of kids we saw in the comics, it would've been two of them getting bit. One by the brother that is in the barn and the other, iirc, getting swarmed.

See, the thing about the kids is that while they are never really developed as characters, beyond Maggie, is that they are a marker of sorts for Herschel. Herschel is basically (IMO) Job from the Bible.

Herschel had, iirc, a total of six children in the comics. A pair of girls slightly older than Carl, the son in the barn, another son younger than Glenn (about the age of that blonde kid I think), a daughter around Maggie's age, and Maggie.

I must have missed that. Thanks for the correction. It still raises the question of why the zombie that attacked her didn't finish the job. It's not like they kill for sport and move on and it's unlikely that she would have killed it and gotten away. But, that's just me needing questions answered I guess.
She wouldn't need to have killed it. She could've gotten bit while scavenging by a lurker, pushed it enough to get away, then crawled off somewhere and died from either blood loss or the bite. Don't underestimate the effect that adrenaline can have.

    Chuck Norris

The one with the woman that started playing because her boyfriend bought it for her is horrible. She comes off...not very well...in it. Sure wouldn't make me want to buy/play it.

If they have to explain it in an after-show, then the show failed in that regard. There was no indication in the show which zombie was his wife or stepson. Hence, my belief that it would've been someone special to Herschel being the last one out. I was getting ready for Herschel to run up in front of the shooters trying to "protect" the person and then possibly getting bit.

Someone could've thrown him out of the way, shot the zombie, he gets mad, grabs a gun and puts it to Rick's head.

I thought it might've been Herschel's wife and step-son that were coming out rather than Sophia.

Not genuinely bad, just a guy who made some bad choices. Someone who thought he might never get the chance to make up for it and was destined to walk a bad path. He now has the opportunity to become the person he might've wanted to be, rather than the person he was.

He strikes me as someone who had a sense of honor, but was forced by circumstances to become a person he didn't truly want to be.

Who knows? Maybe he did some bad stuff in his past. Or perhaps he's never had the chance to connect with someone who wasn't Merle and this is (was) his opportunity. Or he sees a bit of his abandonment issues in Sophia and didn't want her to end up like him.

    Joking aside, I agree.
So they can sell Part 1 & Part 2 of the DVD sets. Then the Complete Season w/some slight extras to encourage the ones who bought P1 & 2 to buy the Complete. Then when the series is finished, they can sell Complete Complete Collection.

*shrug* Just my cynical take on the matter.

    Aye-yup.

The story is right off the rails. No idea what's coming next.

The only thing that bothers me is the timing. Sophia must've been turned like 10 minutes after she left that swamp hollow. The timing is a little too tight. Of course, I can't remember how long they were at the traffic jam before Carl got shot.

If we look at Sophia as less of a person and more of a catalyst, she's doing a great job. She's giving Darryl a (presumably) way to atone for his sins and his past, Carol a chance to grow closer to someone who isn't an abusive *******, Herschel an opportunity to see that those things are never going to be people again, and Glenn to get his mack on.

    Shane needs to die.

    Painfully.

Preferably at the mouth of a walker. With any luck in that swamp.
  16. Been watching The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya. The one based on the 4-panel manga with the SD characters. It's pretty funny and the episodes are Hetalia/Digi Charat/etc-esque what with being 5 or so minutes long each. The Yuki & Ryoko Achakura (no, not a misspelling) are my favorites.

The Churuya episodes are meh, so far, IMO.

  18. Is there any realistic chance of finding a legit copy of XP 64 bit? I'm tempted to go for 7 64 bit (since I've got 8gb of RAM, but my XP only sees about 3.5gb - yes, it's 32 bit), but I like XP dangnabit.

Didn't they say something along the lines of, "We don't interfere with them in our IMMORTAL forms?". Didn't really say anything, ttbomr, that they couldn't interfere in totality.

    Immortal form = bad

Tyreese's (the character T-Dog is presumed to replace) kid & boyfriend provide a massive plot point that changes the entire dynamic of the series. It is conceivable that that plot point was given by the CDC guy. That would allow for them to not be put into the tv show.
