Quote:Event Horizon is better. If a person is interested at all in Warhammer 40k, EH is essentially an unofficial movie about humanity's first encounter with the Warp and interacting with it without a Gellar Field. Or at least that's what it looks like to me.A good Horror Movie would do you good, I mean we all need some Horror in our life, it make things fun and Interesting, I would go with Hellraiser.

Myka is just so adorkable. Whereas Zooey DeVapidExpression tries for adorkable, Myka just is. Love how the Warehouse is one of those places that can conceivably have everything.
Haven was a neat episode. Finding the words to describe that show is hard, but IMO, it just works. I like it.
Stand alones are fine. Just a little tidbit. Though the fact that Eureka is ending after this season makes me a sad panda. -
They were on tonight... >.<
I missed both showings of the Eureka one, but it's on again on Friday I believe.
Warehouse 13 is interesting. Very much It's A Wonderful Life vibe from it. -
So when are the Tier 9 VIP items going to change? And is there any ETA on an actual fix or realistic timetable for awarding of Points and Tokens?

Quote:Give me 5 minutes with the (relatively) hot female in the group.New question;
Your're done for. End of the line. Zombie came outta the blue and took a chunk outta you while you slayed it.
Your 2nd in command raises his gun to finish you off.
What do you say?

Let me get nice and liquored up first.

Put me in a manly pose before you leave my carcass. -
Quote:Meh, there's out of print and there's OUT OF PRINT. I've almost completed my quest for UY. Just 2 more volumes to go and I'll have all 50 TV dvds, all 6 OVAs, and all 6 movies...Probably, Higurashi: When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). According to wikipedia the scene is probably in episode 20.
Sadly it's out of print in the US and FUNimation lost the rights. It apparently underperformed. Luckily for me I bought the first boxset of it a few years ago. :P -
Quote:That's just it, Carl was taking his time and making sure it wasn't a Lurker. He didn't just go start searching through it, he made sure it wasn't one. And just because we didn't see the adults, didn't mean they couldn't see him.I agree, but your scenario is definitely different than the show's situation of Carl rifling through vehicles with no adults in view. If the body in the truck was actually one of those lazy zombies, Carl would have been dead...done deal.
Quote:Youre rite, it is great. Ive lived in some places like what you describe when I moved off on my own (was in Germany for 3 years, I couldnt get much nicer than that), but I didnt have that as an option growing up. Im not complaining and I actually prefer having lived in the city early on and adopting my current viewpoint. Ive dealt with so many people that have grown up in those "nice" areas but were shellshocked when outside of that comfort zone.
Quote:I wouldnt want my kids to grow up where I did, but Ive always thought that its easier to transition from a difficult lifestyle where you may have to mature quicker like in a urban environment versus growing up carefree and possibly being thrust into a fastpaced lifestyle. People do it all the time and I can see the pros/cons of both.
I would argue that someone who grows up in a city is more mature for their age than someone out here. But that's just me. -
Quote:When you live in a State that has a smaller population than most cities, yep, you do get a relatively nice place to live. You can stretch your arms out and not hit 18 people in the nose while doing so.Good times
and you guys must live in some pretty nice areas...
**edit - I dont disagree with most of what you guys are saying, but I know that based on growing up where I did and then being in the military, I tend to look at the world through worst case scenario goggles more times than not. Im living decent enough now, but as kids we dealt more with exposure to crime, gangs and drug activity versus Lyme disease and tetanus shots. I wouldnt keep children locked in a basement for their own safety, but tying it back into the topic...I wouldnt let 9yos move around without me in a world infested with zombies.
Dealing with #s is usually my strongpoint as well, but Id kill myself if my kid happened to be #115 just because I didnt stand with him/her at the bus stop in the morning.
As for the kids in the show, the parents need to let 'em realize that the parents most likely won't be around forever. Let 'em come out with you when clearing a house (if they are double digits or at least have started puberty). Keep 'em in the back, but let them watch how it's done, because they may just have to do it on their own in the not too-distant future. -
Quote:These were very noticeable censorings and extremely poorly done. Take a look at Hulu episodes 4 where Rei gets accosted at the gas station and the scene in Rika's house when the four at taking a bath. The censoring amounts to turning large portions of the screen white. There's no attempt to at least make it along the lines of the bikinis drawn on characters in Tenchi Muyo, for example, when it was on Toonami.Got the BDs too, didn't really notice any censoring.
Home video releases for anime are hardly ever censored. Even Japanese networks have Standards and Practices. =P Which is why broadcasts get censored and... well, home video doesn't .
Home releases also have touched up art and animation.
If you have Netflix instant streaming those could be uncensored. But I could be wrong. But the DVDs and BDs are on sale at Right Stuf, 23.99 and 27.99.
Side note...Right Stuf is having their 12 days of Christmas sale. Some really good deals on that. -
To be fair, living with your parents at that age kinda depends on where you are. Farm families wherein the kid helps with the running of the place while living with the parents? Completely different scenario than a 35 year old living with his parents in a city.
-
Quote:You also see these same parents dosing their kids with every antibiotic and germ-killing thing known to mankind. Rather than helping their kids, they are doing them a vast disservice since childhood is the time that people develop their immune systems (to a great extent). If you kill off all the germs, their systems won't know how to fight 'em in the future, as well as helping to develop germs that are immune to the cleansing agents.I bet you grew up in or near a big city.
Different environments, different parents, different paranoia. When I was growing up none of the parents watched over us. Want to go out and play in the woods? Be back for lunch. Want to take a machete so you can chop through the brush and cut down small trees? Go ahead.
None of us were ever injured other than normal kid cuts, bruises and scrapes.
The paranoia some parents show about their kids is what makes me shake my head with disbelief. Driving to work I'll see parents of kids who are around 10 years old standing with them at the end of the driveway waiting for the school bus. The end of the freaking driveway only about fifty feet from their front door.
I blame the media and their constant need to show stuff like "18 items in your house that are killing you!" and the reliance on shock journalism. -
Baka and Test needs a +1. Dang, but it is funny. Especially the swimming pool episode (#6). Classic "trap" but they give Hideyoshi his/her own gender/changing room as to keep playing up the gender confusion.

Question for anyone who has the High School of the Dead dvds...
Are they uncensored? Because I've started watching HOTD on Hulu and the censoring is very apparent and very poorly done. If the dvds are uncensored, I'd consider picking them up, but if they are the same as what's on Hulu, then no way. I refuse to support censoring, which is why I never bought the CMX volumes of Tenjho Tenge. -
It would be better if he referenced that trend at some point and then never spoke again, but still showed up every episode.

Consistency has never been the strong suit of this game.
My Reward Token was deposited, but no Paragon Points so far. We'll see if they get deposited tomorrow.
I almost get the feeling that they throw darts at a calendar to decide when to deposit stuff. -

Quote:That would make sense if there weren't two different zombie types in the comics, and presumably in the show. There's the Roamers (the ones that walk around, like the herd on the road) and then there's Lurkers, ones that only come after someone if they're disturbed.Actually her appearance and actions wind up giving the impression that Herschel was at least partly right. I know he isn't but it gives that impression.
The other zombies charge out but she hesitates and hides until the last moment. Then she doesn't charge growling like the rest. She sort of hesitantly shuffles forward with an occasional snarl as if she is fighting the urge.
In other words if she acted like this in any other show the other people would be telling her "Fight it Sophia. I know you are still in there." and then she would start crying or say "Help me" or "I can't" or some such. -
Quote:There's also the near every episode box displays on Chuck. There's been several times that the CoV and CoH (more the V than H, but no GR) boxes have been in the shot with the main actors in the Buy More. As well as the occasional ad in comic books back when GR first came out.The closest thing would be product placement on the series "The Big Bang Theory". Went to the CoH Players Summit and they explained that to curtail the expense of straight up advertising, they contract a company for considerably less to find small spots in which CoH can get some exposure.
