Something else to consider with Superman's daughter. Say she wanted to go into the heroing biz. Can you hear Clark saying, "You are not going heroing in THAT outfit young woman! Back up into your room and change into the baggy sweater and sweatpants that Grandma made for you!".

Quote:I am reminded of Bill from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Just a minor Oedipal Complex.Wonder Women's son by far would have the hardest time being her son. No clue if the character has a secret ID or not anymore but could you imagine a kid that has a crush on wonder women looks up all sort of 'images' on the internet.. and then gets told that Wonder Women is his mother when he's like 18ish years old.

Superman's Daughter. Can you imagine the overprotective dad trip with him? No guy would stand a chance.
Wonder Woman's son would be the luckiest guy on the planet. Summer vacations to Paradise Island? -
Started in on Ah My Buddha. Fairly typical harem/fanservice/comedy show, but definitely had some laughs in there so far.
Only have one more disc left in my quest to complete all 62 discs in the Urusei Yatsura series. -

I thought this was going to be something like they dress kangaroos up in top hats and monocles and make them box to the melodious sounds of Men At Work.

Quote:Considering that we've had the problems since September/October, this does not lead me to believe that CoH is at all a concern or priority for NCSoft's billing department. Which in turn leads me to believe that said concerns will not be addressed.Awarding of Paragon Points and Tokens : Lineage II just went Free to Play...(so our Billing Team may have been distracted).
That doesn't even touch on the fact that the Discussion thread about said items has been all but ignored by rednames since the beginning of November along with the problems/CS experiences people are reporting.
(Please don't take my posts the wrong way. It's just this is something that should never have gotten to this point.) -
Since you are here and answering GF, when can we expect something new to come in for the Tier 9 VIP stuff?
And an addendum...is there any work being done on getting an actual fix or at the very least a timetable that doesn't shift from month-to-month for the awarding of Paragon Points and Reward Tokens for VIPs? That thread about such has pretty much been ignored by rednames for a considerable amount of time.
Or is that issue marked down as Working As Intended with no future thought given to it? -

Quote:The Grimms are the guys like the detective. Humans that keep the monsters in check.I dont really know which it is, I pulled that off the interwebz (probably wrong).
The Reapers are the guys hunting the Grimms. That's the guy that shot the old lady in the pilot and the one the former Caprican mafioso sliced an ear off of. They are identified by their scythes that say Reaper of Grimms. -
Thing about Crom is that he values valor and courage. In that world, what speaks more of courage and valor than two going against a horde without the protection of their god?

Quote:...Well, it's good to know that the recovery-from-space project is starting to bear the promised fruit.
The aliens have realized that humanity's fascination with reality tv would cause the rest of the galaxy to implode! They've cut off the source! -
I do believe that LoT would approve.

Quote:Haven't seen ratings, but it is getting a second season of at least 13 episodes.Definitely a shocker - much more unexpected than the reveal on The Walking Dead.
This series just gets more and more intriguing as it goes. Has anyone seen any ratings numbers for it?
Edit - The Dec. 1 episode apparently got a 1.6 of 18-49. It appears to hover in the 1.6-1.8ish range.
Grimm also appears to have gotten a full season. And South Park appears to be renewed through Season 20. -

Now that was an awesome Chuckisode. From the thinking juice to the nudists to Lester's ruling of the prison to the kaboom.

Quote:Longer running time is questionable as there are several cuts of the 1984 movie. There's the 2 hour version commonly found on VHS/DVD, there's a slightly longer 3-4 hour version (it was on IFC recently, iirc), and I seem to remember a 3-night miniseries version/cut on tv WAAAAAAYYYY back when (but that's probably the 3-4 hour extended cut).I'm willing to accept that the SyFy mini-series did far more justice to the source material than the 1984 movie did. Obviously at the very least it was able to cover more material with a longer overall running time.
Quote:But if you compare the 1984 movie to the mini-series directly (without considering the novel) then I'd have to say the movie was far more entertaining and memorable than the mini-series. The Dune movie had many of the "over-the-top" cult qualities that made many 80s-era movies superior to the numerous forgettable remakes since then.
Quote:Let's put it this way: if you offered me a free DVD copy of either the 1984 movie or the mini-series I'd take the movie without second thought. I know that I saw the mini-series years ago but it was so uninspiring I can barely even remember it at this point. *shrugs*
I can only really level two criticisms at the mini. Namely some of the backgrounds were clearly painted set pieces (in the sietch particularly) and the lack of stillsuit discipline/water barrier usage amongst the Fremen. -
Quote:The LotR books are some of the driest, most boring things I've ever read. Hey Tolkein! Sure, people will LOVE droning on for 10 pages describing the veining on a leaf and how it just makes Legolas so melancholy.I think I'm about the only nerd out there who didn't like LotR. That includes the books. Hell, ESPECIALLY not the books, ugh.
I did love The Hobbit (book), though it could stand to have been trimmed down a bit. But LotR just goes on and on and on and it's sooooo booooring. :/
Quote:EDIT - As to Dune, the original was okay (And not just because Patrick Stewart is my favorite actor) but the Sci-Fi mini-series was better. But then, the original was trying to turn the book into a 2-hour or so movie, when it took the series to make the whole book into a movie.
The SciFi mini series was just awesome. And add in that they did Dune Messiah/Children of Dune with Prof X from First Class. I really wish they would've done God Emperor, Heretics, and Chapterhouse as well. -
Dragon Slayer...not as glamorous in real life...

Quote:$10 for a rename seems to be standard. It is the cost for renaming gamertags on Xbox Live for instance. And yes, people waste that much money on it. I've got a relative that's changed his GT at least six times now.Oh, another random thing, less about the featured items and more just a general gripe about pricing. 800 points to rename one character? Yeesh. Seriously, there is no reason this should be this expensive. There should not be enough gears turning, levers being pulled, and springs needing oiled to warrant a $10 price tag for something so small. If there IS a reason, quite frankly you should be ashamed of yourselves.
I say that as one game dev to another.
Guess I'll tough out having my main that I haven't played in years stuck with a name I used to like but now kind of don't like as much. It doesn't bug me enough to warrant dropping Hamilton to fix it. it's the one thing bugging me about bringing him out of retirement after all this time to try out the Incaranate stuff. -
Quote:It could be a prison barge. Aliens dumping their criminals here on Earth. You ever been to a 24 hour grocery store at 3 in the morning? Tell me all those people are "human".Oh Please just because it's a UFO, Doesn't mean it's a Advance Alien Race, it could be a Space Probe, A Satellite, Space Garbage, a meteorite or something else.
