  1. Well, could you take the magnet out of the shoulder and switch that around? Maybe use a dremel to score a groove enough to lever it out. I would think you'd have more space to work with if you remove the shoulder magnet than the arm magnet.

Edit - Changing a bar and an electromagnet's polarity.

Just watched NGE 1.11 and 2.22 over that last couple of nights and they were epic. Really dig the alternate/revamped Angel forms. Gendo is still the biggest ******* to ever grace the small screen. Mari-chan is scary.

Snow Globe has a guide in the Guides section on how you can determine what you've already purchased. Though yes, it would be nice if they could figure something out so you could see in the interface itself what is and is not purchased.

Nope, they don't. Supposedly, the 400 arrives on your billing date and then for some inexplicable reason, the Reward Token is supposed to arrive on the 28th. Despite it arriving anywhere from the 23rd on.

How many cures are needed? We've got enough, at least according to the spam emails every person on the planet gets multiple times a day.

Besides, you stop with the "Honey Do" lists, in-laws, and the like and I'd imagine most of those problems would disappear on their own.
  8. No fembots yet? For shame Science, for shame... It's 2012 already! Get on the ball! Quit with the baldness and impotence cures and do some real SCIENCE! for once...

Explain me why you should have more point than Rhiana?

And don t tell me it s an exception... she is billed on 29 and you are billed on 1st... so you always have more points than her 28days a month. The actual delay just put the light on this issue.
First one was the first one. Give that out so everyone starts off equally. Beyond that, why should I have to wait 3 weeks to receive the goods that I paid for?

I take it then that you would/did have problems with the old veteran reward system, since it was based on billing date rather than a set day per month? Billing date is what makes sense since it's one day and they've already shown that they have the capability to award stuff based on that day, rather than putting out random and unrelated dates.

of course it could be that there is things happening in the background they could not be telling us,like the subs are declining and this is a way for keeping the servers up. It reminds me when McDonalds was having trouble and they boosted their sales by creating more on the 99 cent menu. It is a good SHORT term fix but not a very good long term one.

Well, in October, NCSoft did get hit with a $28 million judgement against them.
  13. It shouldn't be the same day for everyone, it should be the day your account is billed. For both the points and reward tokens. In theory, you should've gotten your Paragon Points on your billing date. Why this month they're late with it...*shrug* who knows. Mine finally came on the 3rd at some point.

We've only had around 10,000 years of being "civilized" and most of that was spent being able to only eat with one hand. Give it time, but time is the one thing that we are more than capable of limiting for ourselves.

The Black Plague by some accounts decimated Europe's population by 50% and how did anyone evolve from that? A couple hundred years later, the population was topped off again and it was back to business as usual. Sure, some became smarter by way of the sciences (which benefitted everyone)...medical knowledge etc. Many though blamed the plague on people not being faithful to some god, which is basically the same thing people do today, like 600 years later (some religious nut claimed Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans and its residents all because of Mardi Gras lol).
By removing a large population of the working class, the ruling class had to pay better and provide better working conditions to compete for the more limited worker resources. Along with other socio-economic impacts, though granted some had to take quite a while to be realized.

Back to the original point, I dont think there is any partial doomsday scenario that will cause the human race to get their **** together.
Just my cheery, realist opinion though
Complete environmental collapse either through supervolcano explosions, impact events, or good ol' fashioned human endeavor. If we know we can't live here anymore, then we'll have to look elsewhere for a home. Spread out amongst the stars. Meet strange new aliens and take the Kirk route with 'em.
  15. Well, we'd need an almost-mass extinction. Bottleneck us down to a couple hundred thousand or so. Give us the chance to learn from the idiocy of the past and revamp. Kinda like how the Black Death allowed for changes in the society of Europe. For one to change, they need to hit rock bottom. We're close, but not quite there yet.

Only downside is the collateral damage to the not-human population of the planet.

Even if something epic did happen, the world may change in some way, but human nature never does. Things may shift here or there, but nothing will truly change unless we're talking about a mass extinction-level event. And in that scenario, our kids wont be hearing too many stories.
For something to get rid of humanity completely, it'd probably have to crack the planet in half. We're kinda like cockroaches. Tenacious, hard to truly exterminate, can practically live anywhere on this planet, and can put up with horrible living conditions.

    Also...

"War. War never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of nuclear fire and radiation. But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world - but war, war never changes.

In the early days, thousands were spared the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters, known as vaults. But when they emerged, they had only the hell of the wasted to greet them - all except those in Vault 101. For on the fateful day, when fire rained from the sky, the giant steel door of Vault 101 slid closed... and never reopened. It was here you were born. It is here you will die because, in Vault 101, no one ever enters and no one ever leaves."

    Honestly?

I'd like it if something actually did happen. This world isn't going to change unless something truly kicks us in the shorts.

Besides, think of the stories you could tell your kids. "Daggummit! You kids don't know how good you have it! In my day, we were fending off hordes of zombies and mall shoppers! All you have now are the hippies trying to protect the zombies! Git off mah lawn!".
  18. Thing about doomsday preparations is that they can be used for a lot of other natural disasters. Like getting a home power generator that can run on a variety of fuels. You might get a severe ice storm like we did one year and be without power for an extended amount of time. Or putting up your own windmill to provide power.

Planting a garden and learning to can your own food? Sure, useful for when the world goes to heck, but is useful in and of itself to lower your food bills.

A secured bunker? If you live in tornado country, it makes for a handy shelter.

The more you can divest yourself of reliance on other people and services that may see disruptions, the better off you'd be for most scenarios. Yes, that includes zombies and alien invasions, but also for supply disruptions like gas shortage in the 70's.

Seeing I know this particular problem was fixed: The "simple" explanation is that within 10 seconds of loading into the game it was possible to repurchase the Vanguard Salvage sack (actually anything you bought from the Vanguard tables). I had characters on test that could hold 120 salvage on the test server before issue 21, and on live I could hold 90 before I21. That +10 salvage is still on that character.

    Edit 2:
Yeah, I know I might not be the first to give the information to the developers about this one, but I did give a detailed explanation. The QA person couldn't reproduce it without a detailed explanation of the steps even though I could reproduce it myself.
Ya, I can accept that I might not have been the first one to find this particular exploit or the first to report it. Mine required no special setup nor purchasing nor timing issues, from what I can recall. It appeared to be something that just got overlooked in the process of implementing Invention Salvage. I do remember that it got fixed relatively quickly after I reported it though. It was one of those, "DUH!" mistakes that all programmers can make.

However, I did make the mistake of mentioning BH. Regardless of anything else, I wouldn't have gotten it due to that one simple flub. *shrug*

Only necessary if the method of doing it isn't simple. And this was very very simple. All it took was 3 lines to tell how to do it.

I accidentally found it on live and that character can still, without having bought any salvage storage increase, hold more than any regular character. I only did it once on live before I switched to the test server for further tests.
I found one like that on Live right after Invention Salvage was introduced. I only did it the once and then again to confirm that it was repeatable. Bugged it, sent a message to Positron (iirc), but I made the mistake of mentioning Bug Hunter. *shrug* I used to bug text errors and such all the time, but after a certain point, I just stopped caring enough to go to the work of it.

We were intentionally trying for it and well, I don't think I'm going to waste my time trying for it in the future. The sheer randomness of the beam placement combined with that low time (what is it? 15 seconds or thereabouts for it to happen) combined with needing to time when AM gets damaged. It's just not worth it. Like I said, I wonder if whoever designed that badge had ever actually played that trial.

None of the badges require activities which run counter to the design of the trial. I'm guessing this is an intentional shift by the devs in response to feedback to existing itrial badges. Mind you, this is just conjecture on my part.
Those Master Ofs pretty much killed my interest in badging. What little remained after Day Jobs that is. Tried Master Of Keyes last night and quite frankly, I wonder if the dev who thought up those badge requirements had ever actually played that horrendous trial. The no defeats/no temps were/are bad enough, but Keyes is just sadistic, IMO.
