Ya, it seems like it's going to be a mix of the two styles. Like the scene in the preview where they knock that vehicle off the ledge is shaky cam, but the scene where the kid is confronting the cops looks to be traditional filming.

At least that is what would make sense, unlike District 9 starting out documentary-style and continuing that filming style despite it not making the slightest bit of sense.

Thank you for that. Right on the nose of what I was thinking of. Everything is blurring together any more. I can't wait to see what another 70 years of movies and video games do to my ability to remember who was in what.
  4. *shrug* I'm willing to accept some liberties with the shapeshifting. It was a fun movie and a decent entry in the list of werewolf movies.

I was thinking Seth Green was in it as one of the friends, but looking on IMDB, seems he wasn't. Jeez, this is gonna bug me for a while, because I could swear Seth played a guy that came back as a ghost and haunted a friend in some movie.
  5. Better werewolf movie? An American Werewolf in Paris. Awesome, IMO, soundtrack as well.

Here we are. See what the zeal to reduce amount of labor has wrought? A forum that is a shadow of its former self. I can't count the number of people that simply aren't around anymore and we'll never see here again. It's no surprise that the most active subsection required the most work. Had they actually disciplined the worst offenders, there was one guy I remember in particular that took forever for him to finally get banned, it would never have had to have gotten to the point where they needed to burn everything to the ground.

As for the people who were mad at LoT, they had the option to not read his threads and increase the thread count per page so that their pet topics stayed on their "first" page. Instead they complained at the guy who genuinely enjoyed this forum and wanted people to know about things going on in geekdom.
  7. TV shows, movies, and generally anything that isn't inflammatory, religious in nature, political, or RL stuff like the recent internet blackout.

And the part where she's crawling through the vent and the camera is focused right in on her butt? That's about "style" too, right?

A leather outfit can be good for fighting, but that rubber stuff she's wearing? Not so much. Not very much protection, probably hot (temperature-wise) as everything, probably doesn't breathe well.
  9. Dunno. Don't think I ever saw it. I wasn't too impressed with the first one, so much so that I don't really remember anything from it.

That's because she was dressed and not this weird pseudo-I'm almost naked but all you'll see is the PVC/rubber/etc. I mean, the movie is already rated R. A few boobs here and there isn't going to mean much. Either give the ladies an actual outfit or have it come off. This in-between land is getting old and is nothing more than, IMO, a ploy to get guys to the show with the hope of her getting teh nekkids, but not really.

You don't gotta run faster than the bear...just faster than your friends.

Come on. Howard the Duck is one of those movies that is so bad it loops around to the other side and becomes awesome. Plus, Lea Thompson in her skimpies.
  13. First thing I thought when I saw this?

A møøse once bit my sister...
Nø realli! She was Karving her initials øn the møøse with the sharpened end of a tøøthbrush...

    Ahem.

The writers of this post have been sacked.

  15. 9pm tonight on FX. Apparently with Burt Reynolds guest-starring. Dunno if it's actually him VA'ing though.

    Also, this.
  16. BWAHAHAHA!

I finally finished getting all 62 volumes in the Urusei Yatsura series. That quest is at an end. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel for getting a rather complete anime collection. At least in terms of "classics". It's kinda...scary...when I look at my anime bookshelves. My estate is gonna have a heckuva time when I eventually kick the bucket.

They've already altered the tv trailers for it. They used to show one where the guys were using a leaf blower on some chippie's skirt. They aren't showing that one anymore.
  18. About four movies too late (not counting Red Tails as it's not out yet).
  19. Aw crap. Missed it. It's Fox. I give it a half season, maybe a full. Beyond that? Doubtful. Fringe is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to Fox and science fiction.
  20. You get 1 token per 1200 pts bought. I don't know if there's extra tokens in there ever.

That show was absolutely horrendous and just reinforces the fact that Jonah Hill is not anywhere near the vicinity of "funny".

Bob's Burgers was awesome and understated. Louise (the younger daughter) was just so out there.
  22. Really people? What about that horrible movie deserves a cartoon based on it?

Meanwhile, it's another two months before we get more Bob's Burgers.

What about some other movies that aren't specifically thought of as a hero for adults?
I would let 'em watch it (if I had a kid), provided I was there to provide background on why he did what he did and to keep the kid grounded. I don't think the gender really matters much.

Spawn, I probably wouldn't let 'em watch, at least not at that age.

  25. Finished watching Bamboo Blade last night and it's a pretty funny one. Show following the exploits of a mostly girl high school kendo team. Tama-chan is about 8 kinds of kewt. She's a short-stuff, kendo prodigy-type who loves sentai anime. A couple of the last episodes get pretty heavy, thematically. Overall, a nice show.

Starting in on You're Under Arrest next.
