At one point, I figured they were going to use Beth like the bit with Tyrone's daughter.
Didn't they say that the cops had scratches, rather than outright bites? Couldn't tell what the response was. -
*sigh* Stabbing 'em in the forehead...just...wrong. Unless that bone has started turning brittle/mushy, that's just about the hardest spot on a human skull. He could've much more easily went in through the eye socket.
Beth is either going to find another way to kill herself or she's going to go quisling. -
It would be better if it was Throw Mama From The Train...

I saw a poster in the theater for frickin' TITANIC in 3D rerelease into the theaters. This stuff has got to stop.

Quote:No Gundam movie plz.I think I'd rather see them adapt one of the Gundam series into live action.....yes I know there was once a live action Gundam movie, but I think they could make a nice trilogy out of Gundam Wing or Gundam Seed perhaps.
Why?
Because they would depress the hell outta me that we don't have ginormous combat mechs yet. It's 2012! Quit with the impotence and baldness cures and make with the giant space combat mecha already! Do I have to do everything for you scientists?!?!
And while you're at it, throw in the microfusion cells so I can have a plasma rifle already! -
Some more possibilities:
Ikkaku - Ed Norton
Soi Fon - Milla Jovovich
Ukitake - Kevin Bacon
Kanamae - Samuel L. Jackson
Shuhei - Sam Witwer
Yumichika - Neil Patrick Harris or maybe Daniel Radcliffe
Orihime - Taylor Swift, but she is not as...talented...as Orihime. -
Eh, I wasn't saying that's who should be in it, just who I thought would be good for those characters.
-
Kenpachi? Adam Baldwin
Aizen? The main guy from Sanctuary. Can't remember his name ATM.
Retsu? Amanda Tapping.
Soi Fon? Morena Baccarin
Old Man Yama? Sean Connery or the leader guy from Terra Nova
Yoruichi? Jo from Eureka
Gin? Sylar
Kisuke? Pete from Warehouse 13.
Rukia? Claudia from Warehouse 13
Shunsui? Nathan Fillion -
Well, I got a Reward Token sometime today. Just noticed it on the character select screen. At least it seems fairly consistent about the time frame, even though that time frame makes the opposite of sense.

Quote:She seems relatively ok, the whole flower bit notwithstanding. Big dose of PTSD probably coming her way, but who in the show doesn't have some form of that in their future?I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Every apocalyptic movie/series I've seen always has someone go crazy because of all the stress. We already have Carol in the comics set a precedent for this; she has even more reason to do so, because of what happened to Sophia.
Of course, they could go the completely other way, and she becomes a zombie killing machine. See "Tallahassee" in Zombieland for an example of this.
I would say Shane goes over the edge first, if he hasn't already. Plus, you know, comic Shane. My guess would be rampant paranoia and isolation from the rest.
Quote:Anyone find it kinda funny that Shane b*****d at Lori for leaving the farm alone, when he did the same thing to bring her back?
I wouldn't trust Lori to make a run to the grocery store pre-zombieworld. Now? Pregnant, stressed out, pregnant, son is barely off the operating table, pregnant, wondering where the next meal is coming from, etc. -
I believe the Detective Comics was listed as a 6.5 and something like half a million. It was the best of the lot, iirc.

Quote:YOU WILL ZIP IT!I wouldn't even assume Rangiku would be in it. If they keep anything like the manga the 1st movie I would think would be an origin story you know Ichigo boy who can see ghost one day meets Rukia gets soul reaper powers. Battles some hollows and maybe finish with Renji and Byakuya coming for Rukia and ending with the fight between Ichigo and renji just when you think Ichigo has won Byakuya steps in and almost kills him in like a second and cuts his soul chain, the end.
Anyway that would be the perfect movie pretty much cause it follows the actual story but I've come to expect much much less from Hollywood they just can't seem to get anime to live action right. So if this ever does get made I will watch because I will have to being the huge Bleach fan I am. After DBZ live action my expectations are low to say the least.
edit: for the record I heard about about a DBZ live action film on the internet all the way back since 2001 and it didn't get released till 2009 and frankly the DragonBall universe is way bigger and vastly more popular so I don't even think this will get made anytime soon.
The movie will be the Female Soul Reaper's Association's trip to the beach! And there'll be volleyball! And blackjack!
-
The question remains...
Who will play Rangiku and Orihime?
Also..Chizuru... -
Quote:Isn't Sentai one of the ones that Funimation is suing? Or is that Section23? Can never remember.Picked up Darker than Black season #2. It's right on par with the first season, but you MUST watch the 4 part OVA first, or you'll be lost and the story will seem kinda pointless.
K-On fans can rejoice. -
Quote:What silliness? The kid was still fairly lucid when they pulled him off of the railing. They take the time to stop, give him a patch job, make sure they aren't pulling the herd to the farm, while at the same time making it so that the kid can't identify timeframes/turns/etc to get to the farm.He was blindfolded and probably semi-unconscious due to his wound and we already know the zombies don't walk as fast as a car. Somehow I don't think it would take 12+ hours to cover a few miles even by the most circuitous route anyone could imagine. Did they take a side-trip back to Atlanta in that time? Please apply a little bit of logic to things like this instead of defending an obvious continuity error like this. There are plenty of things to like about this show but silliness like this is not one of them.
Quit trying to nitpick and find holes in everything. You are trolling the show at this point, IMO. It's pointless trying to talk to you about it.
Quote:Sure I can imagine that the car crash might have "knocked out" the dead zombie as well. But this what I mean when I use the word "contrived" because for the purposes of this show we are suppose to accept and believe that BOTH the zombie and Lori were knocked out for X hours until they BOTH woke up enough to have that encounter we saw. Just -how- convenient was that?!?
And did she in fact wake up at the same time sans any external stimuli or was she awoken by the zombie trying to claw its way into the car? Because I seem to remember the zombie walking up to the car prior to her awakening, so it's not so much waking up at the same time as opposed to the one causing the other to wake up. -
Quote:Time enough to stabilize the kid so that he doesn't bleed out in the truck, combined with the necessity to take a round-about route so that he would get confused combined with not wanting to lead the zombies directly back to the farm?
But no, the show's not done being stupid because once again as soon as Rick and company rescue the Randal guy it somehow takes them like 12 more hours to drive "a few miles" back to the farm where it's now midday of the next day already. What?!?
Quote:Even the Lori car crash was contrived because while it's certainly possible for someone in a crash to be knocked out for a number of hours it was way too convenient that the zombie she hit would -also- not get up and try to eat her for all those hours until she woke up. -
Quote:Didn't necessarily have to be things happening at the same time. *shrug*And wasn't there one time when it was clearly night at the bar and clearly day at the farm?
Time travelin' zombies!
Quote:And I found the case of Randall to be a little strange. First, Rick does in the two guys to protect him and his own, but then it's okay to bring one who's wounded back to the farm? It's a little contradictory, especially considering that Randall had been shooting at them just a few minutes earlier. So, his excuse for why he killed the other two seems a little flimsy with his treatment of Randall. Maybe it's the right thing to do, but it seemed a weird time to feel conscientious about it.
Quote:Yes I mean sun setting. I thought it was still bright in the bar during last weeks encounter with the two guys. Suddenly it's dark outside and they are hiding. Why hang around the place after wasting those two long enough so their friends show up after dark?
Lori hit the walker in broad daylight, which doesn't really do a whole lot to the walker, but now it's dark and the walker was polite enough not to attack until Lori was on the verge of waking up, long enough to get dark?
Was that the same walker that Lori hit or was it a different zombie? Then there was the second zombie that showed up. It's possible the sound of the crashing vehicle attracted others and that Lori hit that first one hard enough to break its spine.
There was a preview during Comic Book Men where Rick and Shane are up at a fence with a zombie on the other side. Rick cuts his finger and drags it across the chain link to cause the zombie to rush over. That little amount of blood was enough to cause the zombie to go crazy. Yet we had T-dog bleeding out like a stuck pig and the entire herd ignored him. Things like THAT is what bothers me more than anything else. -
Vietnam? Maybe. I would almost say a Korean vet, but that might be a bit too old. It's really hard to judge people's age, IMO, when they get to be white-haired.
If you are talking physically dark, like night time, I don't think so. That previous day was awfully eventful and full of stuff that happened. Between the barn, digging the graves, hauling the meatsacks out, etc., a lot of time could've been eaten up. Depending upon what time of the year it is, it could be plausible. Definitely not as bad as say X-Men 3 when it goes from midnight-ish to daylight in the space of five minutes. -

Quote:They've apparently known each other for upwards of 30 years. Do you really think they'd be able to talk like that with someone that had just been hired a few months in the past?So comfortable that three minutes into the show we're presented with their discussion about which superheroine they'd like to have sex with. Yes, having a woman in that conversation might make them feel less comfortable.
And that conversation? Virtually no different than any that have occurred in these forums in the past. Though it is one thing to do it on a relatively anonymous forum compared to doing it in person. -
Quote:That having such an attractive woman in there would be a deliberate attempt to try and push stuff onto a portion of the customer base that is not highly regarded for its ability to interact with women. Yes, it's a stereotype, but it does have some basis in reality.Argued from what position? I haven't patronized a comic book store in decades that didn't have female employees - including, yes, cute ones. A shop that hired only males would have, well, issues in more than one sense.
That's also neglecting that these guys seem to have known each other for a considerable time frame. They're comfortable with each other and you get a more realistic interaction as opposed to dropping someone new into the mix.
Edit - Now, if she had been working there for a reasonable length of time, like 3-5 years, then it would make sense to put her in the show, since she's part of their "group". But bringing in a woman just for the sake of bringing in a woman? -
Quote:Conversely, it could be argued that that cute of woman working there is somewhat unrealistic and pandering as a token female or as counter candy."But the reality of the comic book stores is that these are the people who work in them. Theres not a woman among them," says Kevin Smith, who would have us believe that funnybook stores have little diversity among the employees and the clientele. Why would he have cut even a token female from his show's lineup unless he wanted to pander to stereotypes?

Quote:Not sure when it was, but I seem to remember it being night time and there were at least 3 zombies in frame, iirc. These weren't merely strays, they were up at the house as it was right behind them. Was that in the preview that was shown during Comic Book Men? If so, I don't recall that snippet, but it could just be a fake-out, since previews for earlier episodes included the survivors making a big deal about zombie intruders when it was just Daryl and a couple of strays.

Quote:They've already shown through the previews that the farm gets invaded by walkers. That right there would be enough motivation to get outta there and find some place a lot more secure (like say a prison perhaps?Unfortunately, the show's taken a bit of the fire away from most of the characters, so, with Hershel going into self-pity mode and coming around to Rick and Shane's line of thinking, it takes away from Hershel's motivation to make them leave and the incentive for Rick's group to allow themselves to be kicked off the farm.
). I say that because barb wire fences are not nearly as much of a deterrent, nor tend to be sturdy enough, to hold off things that feel no pain.
