  1. In a way, I feel kinda sorry for Dale. He's trying to hold on to a world that simply doesn't exist anymore. Randall's a threat and at the very least an admitted accessory to **** and potentially murder.

Edit - AAAAAAAAAH! DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!

Several of the young women I worked with had issues with stalkers due to not maintaining enough professional reserve.
However, I do think that a female nurse taking in a female patient would be somewhat more believable for the purposes of a story than a female nurse taking in a male patient or a male taking in a female or a male taking in a male.
  4. I can't see any reason that it would be "illegal" (just my opinion). It might be against hospital policy to fraternize with patients though.

Addendum to that...does she have any evidence of ever having had a filling or other dental work? If there were none, I'd find that highly suspicious.

Do her mannerisms seem natural or are they just slightly...off?

Any sign of a double heartbeat or lack of a heartbeat? Higher or lower than normal body temperature?
  7. Does she have odd cravings for stuff that wouldn't normally be considered "food"? Like say, drywall or markers or gas station burritos?
  8. Make sure she bleeds red and does indeed have a navel. Does she give off any weird magnetic signals that interfere with the hospital equipment? Do telephone/PA speakers start squealing static when she's near?
  9. Here's something else to consider...

What if those "crazy" people that claim to be the reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln or Cleopatra, for instance, are right? That in a different universe, they actually were that person? They were able to channel that existence so well, it overwrote THIS existence.

Another hypothesis...who says a "soul" has to exist within the same meatspace timeframe that we do? All those people claiming to have been Lincoln are in fact the same soul. A person dies and chooses to reincarnate within the same timeframe as their previous existence. That could be an explanation for people finding their "soulmate"...they're actually finding another copy of themselves!

This is the kinda stuff I lie awake thinking about at night...

    Not necessarily.

Think of it this way, in all those stories, there exists an entire world/universe/whatever with the people who aren't germaine to the plot of the story. Someone has to grow the food that feeds the heroes. Those universes continue on after the story is told and exist prior to the story.

You aren't necessarily the "star" of the story for this universe, but rather one of the stagehands.

But a different "you" could be the star in say, a Spider-man universe.
  11. I'm a fan of the World As Myth belief. Basically, all stories exist somewhere in the multiverse. I'd like to think that when we "write" a story, some facet of ourselves either exists in that universe and we're channeling, for lack of a better term, something that happened there.

    But for me:

xkcd as others have already posted
Ya, it's really meandered quite a ways from what it started as. It's not even really recognizable as the same MT. I think Piro pulled the Drama Tag out (yes, that's a Shortpacked reference).

I think I actually got a mention and thank you in Troops of Doom's news section at one point. I hope it was me, anyways.
  13. I WANT THAT ZOMBIE HEAD!

    But Blu-Ray? Ick. Pass-adena.

Is there adequate parking available for the enslaved or are we forced to rely on mass transit?

The appealed the initial judgement and were denied. I saw nothing about an extra $4 mil.

But at the point where you are already ponying up $28 million, does another $4 million actually matter that much?

Regardless, they've lost a lot of money. It wouldn't be too surprising to me if CS amounted to one part-time intern at this point. *shrug*

So yeah, maybe if we all sent petitions about not getting the badges we might get the priority raised.
Well...NCSoft recently got dinged for $28 million in a court case, iirc. It stands to reason that that level of monetary loss caused some problems within the company and what is deemed "priority" had to be changed.
  17. I really do need to pick up the Married With Children dvds at some point...
  18. So what day(s) are we looking at to be awarded our stuffs, barring any account hiccups? Have they looked into awarding everything on the same day, i.e. date we pay, rather than a hodge-podge of random dates (I'm talking about awarding the Token 3+ weeks after our payments).

The last redname post in that thread was, iirc, back in October. Nothing since then leads one to the conclusion that it is not anywhere near a priority that people get what the stuff that should be given to them. Reading the thread is fine, but if nothing is done about or said about it to the players, then we have no way of knowing if our concerns are nothing more than circular filed. It doesn't take daily updates on the problem, but a weekly or monthly update would be appropriate.

As for the Billing Department...might I suggest that they all be fired and replaced with people that actually want to fix the problem? The managers as well for letting the problem stretch out to this point. They have no problem with taking our money on time, every time, but seem to have a massive disconnect in the second part of the equation. Namely giving us the stuff.

By closing off the fence, they prevent any further zombies that may have been attracted by the vehicle from entering the compound. If they bring in their vehicle, then a closed fence isn't really a problem as they can bash through it with the vehicle. I would've made sure that the front of the car was facing the gate, so to facilitate said bashing.

They probably had an initial wait time after opening/closing the gate to see if they attracted anything within the compound. They didn't need to clear the structures, they just needed to see if there were open doors and any significant numbers within the outer area. It was just an, "Is this area immediately safe and not necessarily 100% safe." type deal.

The place was also fenced in with the gate closed, so it should've kept out the randoms from the town. If the doors of a place are closed, then the walkers probably aren't going to get out. It took Shane smashing the window to let the ones in that depot out. Like I said, it offered vehicles, weapons/supplies, and was relatively sheltered rather than forcing Randall to clear a home.

Prison railing? You mean when he got upset after both his daughter and her boyfriend died and were zombified?

I'll agree there were a few times he and Rick got angry with each other. But again I just don't see what happened between those two in the comic being anything similar to the constant shoving match for group leadership that TV Shane and Rick have been in for a while now. *shrugs*

    *SPOILERS*

The railing where Tyreese pushed Rick off of after they had gotten into a shoving/fighting match after Allen was bitten. Things never really recovered between them after that, same as what's probably going to happen to Rick and Shane.

    /headdesk

I've been calling him Tyrone for a while now.

Oh, there was a point where he did. Remember the prison railing?

Random zombies. Kinda like random cats anywhere. They walked around that whole compound and didn't see any others beyond the pile of burnt carcasses, so it was presumably "safe". It offered Randall a place to get a vehicle and supplies, so he had a fair shot.

Then Shane went and messed everything up.

Then when Rick went to get the guns and ammo from the two dead cops, it looked like he paused and only took one gun.

I took Rick's comment about scratched as a means to play it off and not give Shane any ideas about shooting him to get what he wanted.
They were definitely zombies. Rick lured one to the fence by cutting his own finger and smearing the blood on the fence. He then stabbed the cop in the forehead with the knife to show that they didn't need to waste bullets on single zombies. The second then showed up and Shane was to do the same thing (though Shane then proceeded to cut his own finger while in the school bus with the same knife, another stellar move on his part).

It could be plausible that those were the cops Jersey Shore there took it from. I seem to remember Rick taking one pistol out, then grabbing the equipment belts to take along.

Yeah, I should have been more specific in my comment. I meant, given your noted spoilers, I do not remember anyone being placed in a position to similarly present the dynamic for opposing views as we are getting now on the show (with the foursome)... maybe in DC some...

Anyway, it is certainly taking advantage of the new dynamic presented by Shane's TV longevity.
I think Tyrone did, to an extent. Him and Rick became friends to a point and certainly butted heads over issues.
