  1. Oh yes, you might also want to look up our wayward comic writer's book, Common Grounds. It seems as though Troy has been et by the trapdoor alligators up in Canadia-land.
  2. Remember this guy?

He also plays the voice for this guy.

    Thank you for the time...
DKR & the sequel are two of the worst purchases I've ever made.

I can't recall anything of Frank Miller's that I actually like. There may be stuff but I'm just not remembering his name being attached to it. The only thing of Moore's that I've liked is The Killing Joke.

    Yes, that is sarcasm.
No, you don't want to start with overrated nonsense, IMO. The same goes for Dark Knight Returns.

If I had to guess, I'd take a look at Dominatrix for much the same reasons that I looked at DeVore. Her "parties" are regarded as rather extreme, and in the pre-GR content, her personal faction consisted of male *and* female models using the rather gimp-suit like Eidolon models modified slightly.
Well...there was that bit of text in her bio a while back that hinted at...happenings...with Tyrant.

I think the devs want us to forget that she "served Tyrant in all ways" (iirc the wording).

I would disagree. Avoid Watchmen. That is not a starter by any means.

Walking Dead, Empowered, or Y: The Last Man are starters.
  7. Rather than start with the individual comics, start with the Trade Paperbacks. They are collected story arcs and can be had for cheaper, usually, than buying the individual titles.

Foamy has a nice thread here about TPBs. I suggest you check it out and find something you may be interested in.

DC recently rebooted their continuity through an event called Flashpoint. That may be a place to start to bring you up to speed on the current setting. Most of their New 52 is only about 8 issues or so in, so a decent place to start with. If you want the stuff in the last 20-30 years, Crisis on Infinite Earths was the rebooting point for the DC-verse from mid-80's to Flashpoint.
  8. Isn't that pretty much the standard Funi dub cast? At least the first four anyways.

    Sanctuary RIP

A shame. It had a good premise, but the last couple seasons haven't wowed me. I've got the last 10 episodes of the last season sitting on the DVR and still haven't gotten around to watching them.

  11. It depends upon what you are thinking for DW, in terms of censoring.

Boobs/cussing? Ya, that'll get the axe or bleeped. Maybe Tenchi Muyo-esque bikinis getting stuck in.

Violence? Probably not. Look at all the blood and violence that have been in FMA and Bleach. Ropes of intestines hanging out may get the chop, but up to that point, I'd say it probably won't be censored.

I've not seen the series, so I can't say.

She had a bit of a fling, iirc, with Captain Boomerang Jr and I think Powerboy in her comic prior to the reboot. Could totally be misremembering though.

I'm guessing Catwoman, Nightwing, or Wonder Woman.
  13. Now, what were people saying about the lineup?

  14. DC Nation short...meh. Wasn't paying attention. Moar Super BFFs, Teen Titans, and Animal Man plzkthx.

Wally and Artemis shacking up. Nice to see what happened to her and to find out she isn't a baddie after all.

I do think they need some changes to the artwork though. Wally, Guardian, and Roy could've been clones for all that they looked alike.

  16. Besides, he's a VP. It's not like he has a whole lot to do. I imagine the ceiling in his office was full of pencils.
  17. Please remember that [as] has not officially announced the lineup. That's just the TV Guide listing. It is entirely possible (and I dare say probable) that the actual lineup will be different.

You want to add some whiplash? Know who else was in that movie?

    Bruce Villanch.

    Ron Perlman.

    No no.

It would be an animated feature by Pixar. He doesn't control flies, but rather he becomes one. He visits the lab of a friendly mad scientist and accidently knocks some chemicals together. He turns into a fly and has wacky adventures. He meets a girl fly and they fall in love. Eventually, the chemicals wear off and he turns back into a human. He begs the mad scientist to save his girlfriend. Said scientist manages to turn her into and cue sunset.
  22. Tonight I was reading through Cracked.com and stumbled across something that made me go, "Bwah?". Ok, so this is Cracked and pretty much every article has that, but this one relates to actors.

You know Josh Brolin? The guy playing Young K in MIB3? He was also Johan Hex? Guess who else he played.

Brand in The Goonies. The older brother.

    Blew my mind.

Also, not related to Cracked, but Tara Strong. The voice of Twilight Sparkle in MLP: FiM. Guess what else she played.

Raven in Teen Titans, Batgirl in The New Batman Adventures, and Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham City.

What actors have given you a similar moment?

Ya, she was a killer for that show. I waited for Hank to turn to her and say, "Ya know what Peggy? I'm sick of your ****. Shut the hell up for five minutes so I can wonder where I went wrong with Bobby."

I think Batman sort of gets a pass on this because despite all his fancy tech and brains he's just a "normal" man.
Look at where the two properties base themselves out of.

DC - The Watchtower. Literally gods in the sky, as far above mortal man as Mt. Olympus was.

Marvel - Stark Tower, Xavier's Mansion, etc. Living, working, breathing amongst the people. Those with feet of clay vs feet of ether.

Even Batman, arguably the most relatable of the DC Pantheon, isn't really. His "life" is so far removed from the rest of us that it's hard to take him seriously. So much money that he's never really had to scrabble for the next meal. Batmobile gets blown up? Eh, buy a new one. Robin needs a batcopter? Hide it in the batarang budget.

There's a small section in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies that says it all:

Batman (thinking): It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then...he shoots fire from the skies and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him.
