  1. Wow...Deadman Wonderland is a seriously messed up show. They must sentence every criminal on that planet to that prison, given the high rate of turnover of convicts.

You do know that you are, in all probability, two separate entities, correct?

Going to a movie by yourself is one of life's little pleasures. No one jabbering in your ear, no one telling you where to sit, no needing to share your popcorn. And if you go to an early enough matinee, there's a good chance (depending upon your location) that you'll be the only one there.

I am reminded of the scene in the episode of Futurama wherein the giant floating brains make everyone stupid(er). The governor is sending in more trains!

Maybe the probe wasn't designed to search for the signals from the pods? After all, those pods were supposed to be within the Axalon, rather than floating free in space.
  5. Young Justice continues getting better. From Wally's This-Is-So-Humiliating moment to Roy's Should-I-Be-Concerned moment. Neutron seemed almost lifted from this game, from his KB toggle to Self-Destruct.
  6. That's...melodic. Something to help a person get to sleep.
  7. If Jade is in need of a home after all this, I'll be willing to take one for the team and let her move in.

Ya, and you can cut a steak on its chin. Doesn't negate the fact it seems to be more like an earthworm in a human suit than anything else.

    She has.

But much like the 90 year old on the Interstate, her turn signal has been on for the last 70 miles.
  10. Well, for the unwashed masses that's a good enough approximation.

I don't think I can watch it again, though. It looks so bad, and I'm reminded how much I hated the whole turning-into-actual-animals thing. The story eventually got past that for me the first time, but now... yeesh.
I watched the entire series not too long ago and while the transforms and CGI is pretty badly dated, the story still sold it.

And yes, Dinobot is the shizz.
  12. Link.

Given all the preservatives I consume on a daily basis, I might just see this.

The obvious answer is the swirl is better.
  14. In regards to 1), they said they had enough fuel in the tanks for maintenence runs, whatever that means. They didn't have a full load.

The ammo bit? Ya, that raised my eyebrows a bit. I wouldn't think they'd have full rounds plus the powder charges all ready to go. Maybe they brought some in from offsite? I seem to recall them saying they scrounged up some ammo.
  15. I just realized something...

The Penny Yin artwork is a secret clue as to the next powerset! Stretching is a go!

  17. Check out the Issue 23 splash page and take a real good look at Penelope Yin's right leg. It's like a foot longer than the left and seems to have a second knee in it.

  20. Interesting new splash screen.

Just to be clear, but it is still possible to get the 8-year anniversary badge, right? That didn't accidently get shut off, did it?

That is purely and simply BS. It's hard enough to get people together for these events to get the badge after the first week to 10 days, but then to have the freaking thing end before we can finish the objective off?

I've about had it with these "special events" and "limited time bagdes."
The biggest problem, IMO, is simply the amount of people necessary to spawn these big guys. If you're requiring 16+ people, yer gonna have a bad time. All of these big bads from invasions should be spawnable (and defeatable) with under 8 people present.

To an extent I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it was just too bad. Too many cheap shots at low hanging fruit. Too many contrived sequences. Too much ignorance of anything in the way of weapons, physics, hell, reality.
I've seen far worse movies in the theater than Battleship. Superman Returns, Cloverfield, Watchmen, District 9, and others. I didn't go in expecting high cinema, I went in with the idea that if I get some laughs and see some stuff going boom, I would get my money's worth (it didn't hurt that I had a free pass).

Battleship delivered on what I was expecting from it.
  23. I didn't realize till tonight that Jim Vance in Hatfields & McCoys was the guy on the right:

Same. I thought it was a decent enough summer popcorn movie. Not deep by any means, but still fun. I did like how they translated the pegs and the grid of the game to the movie. I laughed pretty good at the initial setup with Hopper and the girl.

And to me, those aliens reminded me a LOT of a combo of Jiralhanae (face features) and Sanghelli (the hands).
  25. There's two people on the Hatfield side that were sympathetic...Cottontop and Jonsey. Cotton should never have been taken on the two things. Jonsey said it pretty well when he said he didn't know how to hate like a Hatfield.

But it's pretty galling that Anse tries to be the bigger man. After everything that Randall has suffered from Anse.

I think the entire story of the Hatfields and McCoys is a warning about the dangers of pride and what it can do to people.
