Two accounts. Fire/Kin Controller (or possibly a Fire/Ice Tank) doing the damage, an Empath buffbot on Follow providing constant Clear Mind or Fortitude.
For a solo squishy? Ya not so good. For someone with Mez protection with a buffer providing even more? Not that big a deal. -

Tremere, the farmers will choose the TF or SF mission (note: singular mission) that best suits their needs and just farm that, resetting as needed.
This change is a flat-out boon to farmers. I don't farm AT ALL and even I can see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, once again I ask... which TF?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well...there's Sara Moore, mission 5. Defeat All CoT in tunnels (brown ones, iirc).
And yes, they farm CoT. Have you never seen the prices of Magic Invention salvage?
Edit - Then Ice Mistral, mission 4 (outside map). CoT. -

2. Reduce the minimum number of players required for a TF or SF to a maximum of six. Only exception: STF and LRSF, since they are meant to be endgame challenges and "hardcore".
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to quickly touch on this (since I'm on the Training Room with the Wedding Event, but reading here too) - most Task Forces and Strike Forces have a requirement of 4. I was looking over documentation on the list of SF/TF.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's five offhand I can name that require 8 to start.
Quarterfield, Moore, Augustine, Faathim, and the Cavern of Transcendence (is that still considered a Trial or did it get moved to TF? Can't remember).
It's a shame I didn't get Moore, Augustine, and Faathim done prior to this so I could get the souvies. Now, they'll never get done. C'est la vie.
For the record, this is a really bad change. If it's going to stay, then starting numbers really need to be revamped. -

I ended up buying 36 Battle Droids from starwars.com when they had a "moving sale". The guy packing the order obviously knew I was building a droid army and made sure each and every one was the "clean" version. For a while I had them (and my other 6 battle droids) pinned to the wall of my office. That many battle droids boxed in one place is an impressive sight to behold.
Now they sit in a bin in the rafters of my garage. One day Positot will inherit the Droid Army...
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that...is a lot...
I sure hope that bin isn't a cardboard box.
I want both a droid army and a Stormtrooper/Clone Trooper (either/or, I'm not picky) army with some of those Galactic Marines thrown in for good measure.
And then I'll have my Cobra Trooper army come in and mop up the remainder. -

Like Jay even more now. I also have a action figure.... problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I've seen this quite often in collectors of action figures - the strange inability to open the container. Yet these same people can open much more difficult containers that hold computer equipment in them. Very mysterious.
Thankfully, any six year old child can solve your problem and many can do so without any instruction or special tools. Simply leave one or two of them in Jay's cube and go do lunch. When you come back, at least half of them will be open and ready to play with!

I thought I had broken my action figure...problem...after the Episode 1's were done...
Sadly, I am falling back on old habits now for some reason...darn those redo's of the 3 3/4" GI Joes! Dang them!

... my thing seems to be McFarlane Dragons. <.<

I think I bought every one of the carded figures from the Episode 1 run. I had half a bedroom wall covered with them. Had the different versions of the Battle Droids. Still have those things...somewhere...
And now, just for old time's sake, I walk through the toy section of a local store and see of all things, Firefly, Beachhead, and Storm Shadow. Hey lookee over there! New Star Wars figures! Ooooh...Galactic Marine! Stormtroopers! Oooh! Buy two get the third half off!
And *wham* right back into credit card debt. -

Geko, out of the pool and start a "discussion" somewhere else. We really need this to be flame free.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't flame anyone and I'm entitled to post my opinion anywhere on the boards. You know that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Neither did I.
For the most part, I took EG's posts more along the lines of exasperation funneh. That, and I was just stating, anything along those lines would be gameable. It might be "time-consuming" but things would still be gameable.

I think all badges should be left alone. In fact, I think they need to create a new class of badges called "Mythical" Badges.
For example,
Incarnate of Asclepius - 1 Billion points of damage healed to player characters only; must have healed at least 1000 unique player controlled entities
Create several more like "Incarnate of Ares", etc. That way, we can finally learn who is the TRUE badge-hunter. Make the number of points needed to get the badge so high that literally trying to finish even one of these badges would preclude the character from doing just about anything else.
Put it out there. Then reward the first person who completes it with a mention on the boards and in game spam.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've already thought of a way to game that Asclepius one.
[/ QUOTE ]
FINE THEN!!
Make a distributive requirement. You get nothing if any one entity receive more than 5% of the healing!
Require than the character cannot have earned more than .01% of the healing credit in one unique playspace.
Close any and all loopholes. Make the badge for healing ONLY players, ONLY during normal play and require that you find at least 20 different characters to heal for 50 million Health.
[/ QUOTE ]
Still gameable, just needs a little bit more time.
Define whatcha mean by "playspace". Is it per login, per zone, per mission, etc? -

Dunno if anyone mentioned this as I didn't read the entire thread, but it falls in the category of "revamping item footprint size".
Could the Tech Insp Collectors be slightly reduced in footprint size? I am unable to fit three Tech Collectors side-by-side in the 2x2 workshop space, yet I can get two Tech Collectors plus one Arcane collector in the same space. I've tried, but I just can't squeeze three of them in the same space. -

2. Revenant Hero Project 10 Missions (5 Delivery, 1 Defeat X). So in effect, 4 missions. And thats why it is number 2 but the fact is the Crey Tanks and the Paragon Protectors will cause you a lot of grief. You could pull it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I just did this one for the No Temps and No Enhs setting and it was actually fairly easy. Two of the missions could be stealthed, the third was basically a Defeat Boss & Guards. The only problematic one was the Defeat 50 Crey. Which could take a while depending upon your sets, but there are green and gray con Crey available for smiting.
The only real problem would be doing this one on the No Travel Powers and AT Only Powers setting. Why? Because of the idiocy of mission placement. (At least) Four of the Deliver missions require running the full length of Skyway City, should you chose to take the Green Line tram. Deliver to Mark Freeman, then run to the other end of Skyway to deliver to his friend, then run all the way back to Freeman again. Later on, you have to deliver to another guy at the opposite end of the zone from the Green Line.
The Crey Tanks and PPs didn't really matter in this mission, at least to me.
A bonus for this one, is that includes the 7th Generation Paragon Protectors, that a person could use to dual box for Infiltrator badge, provided those still count for said badge. -
The granted 20k Prestige per member is not going away if the person leaves the SG/VG after the granting is complete.
I asked LH about this before.
Edit - Curses! Foiled by LH! -
Hey, I wasn't saying anything bad about what they are giving.
Just that they said there's more coming and the slots would be a socks-knockeroffer.
I've got two accounts and bought both CoH/CoV (and no, I don't feel gypped and yes, these were individual CoH/CoV boxes not the GvE edition). The debt thing, is nice in the sense they don't have to do it, but it isn't really overwhelming. The Prestige thing is very good. I've got a solo SG and VG and that 180k+ Prestige on each side is going to be wonderful for me. -
Ya know what a really good thank you gift would be?
A couple more character slots per server. Say two or three. Nothing outrageous. -
Maybe send a PM to guide contributors asking if they mind if the guides are deleted rather than just outright deletion?
Or could we possibly get a subforum of "Current" Guides (those done with the last couple Issues) and "Archived" Guides (everything else, like Issue 1-7 guides)? -

Mostly for amusement, if you take a look at the job listings for the new facility, I wonder if it is Gecko who is not coming over, as a Powers Designer is listed. It would be sad, as Gecko has done a fantastic job over the years (not that I ever see him post anymore, did he leave a while back and I had no idea about it?). Emmert, well, I assume he is going to continue with Cryptic managing the design of the Marvel game. Miller is head honcho here now.

No offense intended here, but State's Vision not being around could be considered a good thing. The game was so locked into the Vision and we were going to be forced into it come Hell or highwater. He did have some really good ideas and gave us a great sandbox to play in, but things like the 1 hero=3 minions and comparing an MMO with a sidescrolling shooter...well...
Also, BAB is doing pretty good and we get to keep _Castle_, Jay, and War Witch.
Edit - That's not to say Jack himself is a bad person. He's pretty neat and definitely had his own way of thinking and did a pretty good job on the project. It's just that that way of thinking didn't really match up with what the playerbase was wanting/needing from a superhero MMO. -

One thing that I hope comes about from this...
Some actual advertising.
While I don't want CoX to hit WoW numbers (and the associated increase in jerks:non-jerks ratio), it would definitely be nice to see some fresh blood.
Things like Who Wants to be a Superhero and Heroes are so obvious venues for a TV spot or something. "Hey, you're watching superheroes, why not play one?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Just...don't market to teenagers. PLEASE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Meh. Some teenagers can be quite mature and act like reasonable, rational people. Conversly, some adults can be some of the most frothing at the mouth, irrational idiots in the world.
The game is rated "T for Teen" after all. -

My .02 inf.
I am...confuzzled...on how to take this news.
One hand, we no longer have Jack's "Vision" for the game driving us. I'm sorry Jack, you had some good ideas, but seriously, one hero being equal to three even con minions?
On the other hand, NC's biggest other titles, the Lineages, embody the grind for grind's sake style of play. I don't want to see that creep it's way into CoX. Nor do I want to see WoW-esque Raid crap make it's way into the game. Hamidon is acceptable as it's one thing, but bring in several "We're going to go Raid the Hydra Dimension! We only need 70 more people to do so!" type things and I'll be taking my hat and moseying on out.
And I really hope that all the stuff we've been told is 'too expensive/time consuming/difficult' will now get done. -

2. threads that are so damn old they have no value as advice in the current game. These are posts which have essentially become snapshots of a different game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would argue that we keep some of these around for historical value. They are pretty valuable in showing how things have changed throughout the game. -
The only problem I have is the drop rate of the costumes. Getting 50 of the buggers for the third badge is taking entirely too long. Going on 4 hours now for 1 character and still haven't gotten the third. I'm sorry, but four+ hours for event badges is too much. I'm not saying they should all drop in 15 minutes, but in an hour or two a player should have the badges, not necessarily all 33 costume-types.
Plus, the fact that if you get a duplicate, you won't know it, leaving you unable to figure out just how many you DO need.
Maybe make the costumes a drop from the mobs rather than the Insp-type rewards?
