That's like eating one Lays potato chip...or having *some* chocolate. More is better.
  2. Happy Birthday to Sister Flame!

In her honor, I made a custom group on test for a mission, and named them Clicky-Clacks. Unfortunately you can't use their regular appearance, so they're a rogue clockwork faction that look like small bots.
  3. I'll trade back/shoulder rubs for artses.

    Micros?

I googled for micro.....man, those are some short skirts and skimpy bikinis!!

I'll take one, as long as it's filled properly.

Errr, so what happens when we go live with this and everybody republishes with a new number? Will we need to restart our feedback topics?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would imagine we'd need to move this to the training room section and start up a new one.

It started right up for me. Maybe your cache or temp files are corrupted or something?
  8. Thanks for the update! I get a smile whenever I see this thread in my "unread" listing.

Flagging as mature is enough. It's an implicit click in my book. Thanks for being responsible about it.

Good to know - that's a bit of a change from before, and will make things easier to link to now.
  14. Hey, you need to fix this link asap - remember the 2-click rule. If you don't have a "safe" DA link, at least the link out and point people to your DA page (no link there either though, since this will be on your front page!)

I've actually been wondering about this! I do see artists that are/have worked for DC or Marvel or etc. that sell work of licensed characters as commissions or whatever. That's legit after you actually work for them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just working for them isn't enough. Typically, once an artist is working for a company, there's room to negotiate print rights to certain images. In fact, allowing an artist to sell prints can lessen the amount the company has to pay for the art in the first place, since print rights can be part of the compensation. Companies will also have to make sure certain details are observed, such as not releasing the print before the comic it's part of, and not making prints of an image the company wants to make prints of themselves (so there's no competition).

But my observation is that comic companies really aren't into making prints, so they let their artists do it. WOTC was that way back when I did MAGIC cards.

As far as why I don't have prints on my DA site - none of those characters are mine. I have images designed that I intend to release as prints, but I'm adamant about the characters/images being my own and not a rehash of someone else's commission. I would find it cheap if I'd paid for a commission and found the artist making side-cash on prints of my character - so I won't do that to others.

Now... should I get into DC/Marvel, you can bet your hats I'll be making a big push into prints. I've been doing all my images poster-size recently to allow maximum quality.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can appreciate that - I certainly wouldn't want an artist selling prints of something I'd commissioned them to do for me - I'd be thinking why did I pay that much when I could get a print for that little?

It doesn't stop me from wanting to place my order for the "Doug's Portfolio, Volume 1", though.

Having a hard time keeping up with the messages? lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

Haha, yeah. Over 1,000 messages so far.

This has really juiced me up to do more. I finished my Hawkman and Emma Frost models today and have had requests for Wonder Woman and Black Canary. I'm thinking I found me a niche.

Now try this....enable Prints and see what happens! (I want a set! )
