You may wish to run the CoH Helper and post the results. It's found here .
The memory you linked to is a great one, good, low latency numbers, reputable manufacturer.
The Helper will provide info on your video card, driver, and settings, so people may be able to provide more help from those results. -
They say forgetfulness is a sign of old age.
I read that, but I can't recall where...

You've gotta keep up with both the Dev and Community Rep digests for this stuff. Also, the few dozens of threads gushing over this stuff. I'm sure there's vids of it on the multi-media area, but not so much here, because it's tough to tell from a still shot or piece of artwork if it's a walk or not.
I realize those other areas can be frightening
, since they're not nearly as cool as us artsy fan types.
But I force myself to do it just so I might eavesdrop of some juicy tidbit of information there, like this walking deal.
Edit: I also like Obi-Wan using a bit of the Force nudge on the diving guy.

One rule: being right is not always the right thing. Different strokes for different folks, so some things are definitely not worth disagreeing on.
If you ignore rule 1, wear a helmet.

I'd recommend going to http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx and running the scanner there. It will tell you just what you have in your system.
If it is indeed the DDR2 800 that you linked to, then that one has a nice low latency number, and should work well.
It might not be a whole lot more money to use 2Gb chips - you might look at what they have, compared to your system specs, and see what the most economical route would be. I notice NewEgg has 82 products in the DDR2 800 category, so plenty to look at.
If you can swing 4 Gb of Ram, you'll be about as good as you can get without running a 64-bit version of windows. -
Yep, the Rikti spawn that pops near the end has to be eliminated, as well, I do believe. That can be an issue if you have one of those that TP around, and you miss seeing them off to the side, or even above you, mixed with the others in the shaft.
In that case, everyone needs to move off to one side out of sight, so it will TP back to you. -
Just to toss out some different ideas for consideration:
1. Tough target defeat specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM) -solo
Can defeat a single tough target most quickly, alone (admittedly requires a high level of survivability as well.)
Fire/WP Brute
2. Team tough target defeat specialist (vs boss, AV/even GM) -assisting/enabling
This teammate would help the team defeat a tough target most quickly (defensive capability not necessarily important, offense may be)
Rad/Sonic Corrupter
3. Large group defeat specialist -solo
Can defeat a large group most consistently and quickly, alone
Fire/Elec Brute
4. Team large group defeat specialist -assisting/enabling
This teammate can make defeating large groups fastest most consistently (defensive abilities not important, offense may be)
Fire/Kin Controller
5. Tough target survivability specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)- solo
Can stand against a tough target the longest, without help (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Stone/Elec Tank
6. Team tough target survivability specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM) -assisting/enabling
This teammate would make surviving tough targets for a long period easier (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Dark/Dark Defender
7. Large group survivability specialist -solo
This combo can withstand a large group attacking them the longest (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Dark/Elec Tank
8. Team large group survivability specialist -assisting/enabling
This teammate can help the team stand against a large group the longest (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Earth/Kin controller
9. Tough target control specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)
Power combo that can most consistently stop a single tough target from dealing damage (offense not considered)
Mind/FF Controller
10. Large group control specialist
This combo can stop a large group of enemies from dealing damage most consistently (offense not considered)
Earth/Thorn Dominator
11. Tough target stacking specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)
While often diversity on a team often preferred, the more of this specific archetype primary and secondary, the better when fighting a single strong foe
Broadsword/Shield Scrapper
12. Large group stacking specialist
While often diversity on a team often preferred, the more of this specific archetype primary and secondary, the better when fighting a large group
Fire/Kin controller -
If you can get a hold of a usb external hard drive, you might copy over all you can, if you can access your computer again. Might save having to DL and patch CoH and stuff like that.
One other option, and I've not personally tried this, so I don't know what hurdles their may be with this, but just a thought:
Go to http://www.carbonite.com/ (or another online backup) and sign up for their free trial. Cram whatever you can there, then restore it to another hard drive. -
I keep getting the same drops, too - none. That said, I'm not sure getting too many is really something worth complaining about? If it is, I'll take them.

Interesting winter event. It appeared as if those in the winter zone that timed out were kicked out to random spots instead of back to where we started.
One bug that I /bugged in game, with the luge run in the chalet area: I had Ninja Run and Sprint on, and at the left fork that goes through a portal to the top of the next section, you appear there backwards, facing up the slope. I was also zoomed in to first person view, and had to turn around and use my mouse wheel to get back to normal.
Still, that combination, and I missed silver by one second, so it looks decent for the newer players to be able to get those couple and not have to have SB/inertial Reduction except to get gold, once they're a bit familiar with the run. -

Wait, everyone! You all are glossing over this whole "agree with Dark Ether" bit. That doesn't happen very often...
