  1. I always thought the answer to the length of beta testing was "not long enough".

    Ssd?

From the reviews I've seen, SSDs will generally always be faster at bootup and starting programs than a HD will be.

The price per Gb should continue to get better, but I think the price point now makes them worth considering. I'm probably going to be getting one for the system and game on a new system I'm planning.

If you're looking for the extra speed, it's probably worth the price at this point. If you're not as concerned with the extra speed, you can do fine with a regular HD, and get more storage for the money.

    Ssd?

For the OS, I'd definitely look to Win 7 64-bit.

A SSD drive should be quicker in bootup and such, so if you can find a decent one I'd sure consider it strongly. I find over 50 of them on NewEgg at $200 or under, several larger then 40 Gb.
  4. Oh, that should be very cool! I've pondered some sort of sculp, but haven't pulled the trigger as yet. I'll look forward to seeing this...

    Picky.

Anyway, nice one, Steelclaw, and I hereby nominate you for the Punniest Post award for the year 20-ought-10.
  6. Just brainstorming here...

Does your vid card have a bios update available that you may have missed?

Edit: Link found here related to the bios.
    ( in case it's possible. )
  7. Teaming revelation...and you dragged Arcanaville into a Pinn thread! Props to ya!
  8. Pinn's done this before, on more than one occasion. What normally happens is they'll do a TF or something of the sort, hit the pvp zones, etc. The proceeds have generally been used as prizes for future contests.

I've not participated in it, but generally hear all about it in the chat channel there.
  9. Curses!

Also, I'm generally not a fan of remakes, but I sure hope Clash of the Titans turns out okay.
  10. <qr> Hall and Oates would have been better , but welcome folks!
  11. We'll miss you, Niv! Hope to see you around the game still, though!!

You did a great job, too, btw.

Circular illogic. You get XP for the foe, not for a power. The "pets" are a power the foe uses. You'd no more get XP for "defeating" an oil slick by burning it off.

Again, power versus foe. The foe uses a power that makes the pet. XP for foe. No xp for pet/power. That's how the game works.
  14. Using a power with knock-up on a lower level for for the elevation, then hitting them with Nemesis Staff before they land for the mega knockback, and watching them sail out of sight....

You do get compensated for the creature, and the fact that you die from one of it's attack forms, which happens to be a "pet", does not mean you should not get debt - the creature defeated you, after all.

I imagine everyone should know about the farming spawns, which is why they don't give direct xp themselves. You are getting the xp for them, however, in the xp for the foe that spawns them, whether it be Rikti Comm. Officers, Cysts, or DE.
  17. Not sure who all follows Starchasm on DA, but I hadn't seen this mentioned here, and thought I'd put a link. Contest for M.S.

Something worthwhile that some of you artists might be able to help with.
  18. Nice piece, Juggy!

I like the little touches, like the FArt Champ book, the Arachnos symbol on the spider, and your art book. And I liked how you handled the bricks - something I picked up from doing drafting is if you show all the brick it looks too busy and detracts somewhat from the drawing. Showing some and having the rest "mortared over" is quite effective.

I'm sure that strategy guide is out of date, too, like mine.
