Actually, the latest driver version for ATI is 10.4. Those have been used by quite a few of us with good results.

Quote:This latest patch has really made it virtually impossible for me to play the game . I run on a hp laptop on the low setting . It ran great until this last patch. I updated my drivers with no improvement . On for longer than 15 minutes usually, then graphics crash .
When you installed the new drivers, did you remove the old, running something like Driver Sweeper, before installing the new? -
Just passing this along...might be worthwhile to make sure your AV and Malware programs are up to date and running - it seems a layered approach might be the best thing:
Security Alert news.
Forewarned is forearmed. -
Yes, ZA's been on much better behavior lately - it's stopped the non-stop questioning like a child.
I'm leaving it go as is for now.
On one laptop, I installed PeerBlock and run it at times and just look at all the stuff it's intercepting. It's really amazing all the crap out there trying to foot in the door, so to speak. And people never know about it unless they have these kinds of things running on their system. -
Not sure if the driver info would be shown like that because of this, but make sure you're running the Helper as an Administrator (rt-click - run as admin).
Also, in general for this issue, you'll want to upgrade to the latest drivers available. The older ones are not cutting it any more. I think most of the links are upthread for anyone that needs to do this. Just be sure, after you DL the new ones (don't install yet!), to uninstall the old ones, run driver sweeper, and install the new drivers after that. -
If you're wanting Ultra mode, for that money, you're best going desktop. Laptops with the latest graphics that can run Ultra are gonna be very expensive, generally.
I'd suggest looking at the builds in Father Xmas's signature and building up from there. -
Happy Brawler Day!

Quote:I've most all of these, except for the Sky Raider berating his team, and the "good" variation of the stranded woman trap.
The first time I saw the injured Freakshow, I actually went up to them, wondering what was going on. Then they attacked me.
I did see a group of Freakshow and a Warrior in Talos running around, for absolutely no reason... I had one of the group targeted from outside of agro range, turned around to look for something else, looked back and they were gone! They'd run down the street a little ways. I followed them, they ran to another spot down the street, chilled for a moment, then ran back to their original spot. It was really weird, and probably some sort of bug.
I've found that those, a lot of times, are someone's ambush mob that chases them, then loses them when the player enters a mission, goes through a gate, etc.
The one of those I know of that's different from that is in King's Row. At times you'll have clockwork moving off, all in the same direction. I believe it's when they gather around a Paladin. They'll generally ignore you, but I decided I'd attack one. It came back, and as I dropped it, a few others came back and attacked me. I was taking them down when more came back and started zapping me. Finally there were enough that I decided discretion was the better part of valor and I took off. I really like that they can do that, though. -
Thanks for keeping this updated and going, Stoney! (and the rest of the contributors, as well!)

Keep on healing and getting back to 100% - looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!

More wonderful work, EternalKnights! Thanks for doing this and for sharing it with us. Great job!

This is a wonderful idea! I don't much ton of time to offer, but I'll keep rooting for your success in this.

Just got a Samsung XL 2370 at best buy - marked down under $300 these days. 2ms response time...so far, so good! There's likely a 24/25" one in the same line you might find, if you want the extra width.

While SLI might be in the works, CoH will get the most bang out of video card and system memory. You have plenty of the latter, and decent vid cards. Were I to upgrade something, I'd try and sell the 260's and get one of the newer video cards.

I updated to the 10.4 drivers, since the 10.3's were having some issues with the game. Mostly, yeah, the in-game settings. For now I just cranked the Ultra stuff to the far left (except for AO) and let it roll!

Quote:As far as free; you get what you pay for. It might be functional, but it's not likely that it's efficient or effective.
I've had Avast and Avira and AVG and they've found stuff that Norton did not. If you keep it up to date you should be good, regardless of how much you personally choose to pay for it. -
The -usetexenvcombine parameter will usually work for video solutions nearer the lower end of the requirements - I believe that greatly simplifies the rendering or something of the sort.
It's a solution that people can try, and then change back easily enough if it doesn't help.
