Very interesting....
...and welcome to the forums! -

Quote:Veteran Rewards and Penelope Yin give you clock pets. Yin's pets only have 3 charges, though. *sadface*
I know...I love those little dudes. Nice end drain on their attack can help, but they're quite the squishy lot. -
Ab attack!!
Nice sketch...glad you're enjoying the game!! -

Quote:Hehe, I had hoped that I included an adequate number of smilies to indicate that I was kidding. I don't want to actually be passing false information around, I was only making a joke and hoped the smiles gave it away! Secondary Mutation does not have a prompt!
Thank goodness! After all these years, I really wouldn't be surprised at much of anything, though. -
Quote:See, this is the kind of thing that pisses me off. Next time you try to accuse me of doing something, make sure I actually did it. Or you can go make sure now. I'd LOVE to see a quote where I yelled about reinstating the prompt BEFORE it was reinstated. A link to the post would be very handy, too.
See, Bill, this is what I mean - someone makes a big stink out of something, then I end up taking heat for it just because I happen to share a stance. Yeah, that's one thing I can do without.
I tossed the "you" in there because when Bill posted "it sounds more like "yea, I was one of the people requesting the popup be put back in and I don't think I deserve folks being mad at me for it.""
And you replied "Partially, yes,.."
I'm not going through the months of posts on these forums about this issue to see what you did or did not post - I'll take your word for it that you stayed out of it until now. So my apologies for my interpretation of your post. -
Quote:To play Sam's advocate for the moment, it would have mattered. Someone on the dev team said, "We're sick of the complaints, turn the popup back on." I'm betting Castle started to say something intelligent, but the one barking orders had moved on. So he shrugged and turned it back on fully expecting backlash for it.
Apparently getting options added to the UI is akin to pulling the teeth from the cats you just herded.
I imagine that's right. All I was saying is that if a bunch of players dislike X, and another bunch like X, then why not see if we can get Y, which will serve both groups well, instead of lobbying for something that the other group will hate. -
I think if you and others who wanted it had actually thought of others in the first place, and requested an option to accept or not in settings instead of yelling loud and long enough to get the prompt put back, then all of this would have not happened.
It was a bad design decision in the first place. It was gotten rid of because a ton of people rightfully hated the pop-up during combat and the like. If your goal was to have the option of rejecting it, this was not the way to approach it, by yelling for the option that everyone knew a sizable number of players hated. -

These sorts of things don't actually monkey with the game at all - they're skins that reside only on your computer, like the Vidiotmaps and the like. They don't change any game files - they just overlay the graphics in the game, basically.

I think that's a side effect of the beta testing - they don't have an extra server there, I'm guessing, to have both the beta and the test servers.
I just wish that the beta and test could somehow be combined. It would be cool, but I'm sure that's problematic at best. -
Quote:Very nifty! I have seen some really wonderous things done with duct tape. Like this
That's really not what I was expecting...
Very cool, though. -
Quote:Nononononono.... No future Birthday wishes!! This day (and page) is already too crowded with Birthday posts!!
No such thing as too many Birthdays, Mr Grumpypuss.
Plus, it's the weekend coming up - got to allow more time. Look forward - to the future!!
Plus, this gives people more time to not be belated. I'm just trying to help others. -
...I see Moggie's is coming up this weekend.
Happy impending Birthday!
And still one of my favorite avatars of all time, Moggie! -
Quote:I really hope there is more they have not shown, or this has somehow been misinterpreted as the Mutant Pack.
I'll buy it regardless, which I guess is self defeating because if there aren't some new heads, arms, and/or legs that look more... mutated, I am going to be very disappointed. Probably more than I was that the Natural Pack didn't include back packs, quivers and scabbards.
I'd say what we see is what we get. These packs have not generally included anything more than what's been shown and discussed in the announcement and on test. -
Quote:Actually, Secondary Mutation also has a prompt.
When you activate the power, a prompt appears, asking you, "Are you are really sure you want to buff yourself?"
Really? I haven't gotten to test to see that yet.
If that's the case, that sure seems backwards to me...the self buff shouldn't need a prompt, I'd think.
Still, I hate having a prompt box potentially pop up over top of the screen while I'm in combat, no matter who does it.
How about this for an optional pop-up box - "Do you wish to accept this change to the game?"
