And another update. I'm really sorry this is taking so long/alot longer than I had originally expected. I hope you don't mind.

P.S. - My CoX subscription ends tomorrow so I won't be updating it on the boards anymore...all updates will be done through dA if anyone wants to keep tabs on this major project. =) -
Hmm...that part underneath her boobs, where her stomach "line?" is, you shouldn't make so dark because such a dark color right next to a significantly lighter tone creates a very strong contrast and makes it look like there's a steep cave-in at that area. Maybe blend it out a bit to make the color change more gradual.
Other than that, looking good so far. =) -
I use a Zebra M301 0.5mm mechanical pencil...for no other reason than I think it simply looks cool. Other than that, it performs no differently than any other pencil I've used...exception of the generic Staples brand one which, literally, sucks since you can never apply pressure when using it otherwise the lead will "slip".

Hmm...I just noticed this thread right before going off to work...and looked at the pieces. Umm...*technically*, copying an image (even if he's mimicking the style down to a fault), as long as he physically DREW it, that *technically* gives him copyright on that specific rendition of it (I actually sat through a 2-hour discussion about fanart copyright laws - alot more boring than I had originally expected). Anyways, *IF* he drew it himself, then we can't do much about it...however, IF he just saved the image on his hard drive then uploaded it onto dA...then *that* is a problem.
There are a few minor points that kinda sets it apart...although for the most part, he pretty much tried to emulate the image piece by piece. It's like a photorealistic artist copying from photos. They don't always list references, either. They SHOULD, as an act of courtesy to the photographer (or in this case, original artist), but I don't think there's any binding law that makes it mandatory (correct me if I'm wrong, though). There are also alot of other instances like collage artists who cutout photos from newspapers and put it together (I, personally see them as pathetic no-skill artists but there are some people who are famous for it) who rarely ever cite sources, either.
Note: Just because I wrote that doesn't mean I agree with it. As an artist that draws completely from the imagination, I truly detest these people (exception of the photorealism artists, since there's exceptional skill in that)...but I'm just trying to be as unbiased as possible.
But, I agree...he's quite immature. -
Okay, the traditional inking had certain weaknesses so I went back and started inking it in digitally...I get more details in this way and I don't have to worry about patching up the pieces like I would've had to had I done the inking traditionally with the 4 sheets of paper.

Oooh, I'm a digital inker of sorts.
My key advice is simple:
Don't treat the inks as "LINES" but rather "AREAS" and you'll have more success...or at least, that's how it was for me. I spent the first 3 years of having a tablet not being able to ink digitally...as I was fumbling around trying to get that straight line, too. In the end, just lower the brush size (3 or 5), and make small strokes. With enough strokes, it'll become a line. Cheers and good luck! =) -
Well, on my screen, your (Juggs) page shows it is straight, too...not jagged. Probably due to your resolution size, maybe.

- What is the make and model you are using?
I used a 4x5 WACOM Graphire3 for the last 4 years. Love it quite a bit...although with my new monitor (widescreen), it renders it obsolete so I recently switched to a 6x11 Intuos3...and I absolutely love it! The pressure sensitivity is more noticeable on an Intuos than a Graphire (unless you're obsessive about learning to paint digitally, it won't make THAT much difference).
- On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 = do not like at all, 10 = love it to death), how would you rate your satisfaction with it?
I'd rate a 8 for the Graphire and a 10 for the Intuos...mostly because I do paint. Some things to note, though, is that each has certain "strong" points. The Graphire is alot smoother (since it has a glass surface) whereas the Intuos is "rougher". Even though I said it''s rough, don't get me wrong, it's still smooth, just not AS smooth as the Graphire. The smoothness is kind of a double edged blade, really since some things can be done much better on that smooth surface and somethings cannot...and vice versa.
- What do you like most about it?
For the graphire, I like the ability to draw quickly (note:smooth surface). For the Intuos, my absolute favorite thing about it would have to be the pressure sensitivity and the buttons on the sides which you can set to do certain things (undo, pan, zoom, etc).
Also, I've had the Graphire for over 4 years and it STILL works...and I use it ALOT, too!
- What do you like least about it?
I've yet to see anything wrong with either model. Wacom products are literally built to please.
- If you could get a different one, which one owuld it be, and why?
I would never buy a tablet that wasn't from WACOM. If I was to ever upgrade again, I'd get a WACOM Cintiq...which costs about $2500...but since with my income, I couldn't even dream of doing that. -

Grab a pencil and a pad of paper. If you are as "green" as you say you are, definitely start with the basics. Human anatomy, surface lighting, and volume.
-
This looks like fun...I think I may extend my subscription, now...
Hmm...on second thought, it's a screenshot comic. That knocks me out, too. -
Lemme know how it goes!!! I'm debating on whether or not to watch it...after all the mixed reviews I've been seeing.
-
I'm not exactly sure of this but I think you have to be subscribed to get that "Friends" list option....
-
Oh my...you guys are obsessed!
The artwhoring fever has totally taken over!!! -
Pretty nice. I would also suggest doing a direct front view pic along with the current 3/4 view.
-
You should get a closer shot when doing a screenshot. Most people, I don't think, notices feet too much...generally, try to focus on face mostly and the torso and arms.
-
Welcome to the club, man. Need more artists to balance out the artwhore/artist ratio!!! :-P

Cell-shaders????
[/ QUOTE ]
Cellshading a style of coloring often used by anime artists and otakus. It's an alright style but it tends to have very little color variations so it makes the final image comes out looking kinda flat. Increase the contrast to create a greater sense of depth and volume in the images. -
/me takes a torch and ignites TA's pants on fire...
Liar, liar! Pants on fire! -
Hmm...pretty good. You should use a broader range of color variation, though. Definitely create more contrast to stand out from the masses of other cell-shaders.

Like Kat said it's sexy without being sexual! I love it!

TA has sexual pieces??? WHERE?!?!?! WHERE?!??!?!?
It's for...uhh...inspiration! Yes...that's right! INSPIRATION! -
Hmm...you should use the Blur tool and blur out the edges to lessen the intense contrast line between the object and the background.
-
Oh lord, looks like we got ourselves a few more artwhores on the loose!
Artists, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! :-P -
I am...horrified...traumatized. For life, possibly.
