Yeah, Warshades are nasty right at level 1.
*ducks* -
Quote:They call it the City of Villains for a reason. Personally, I love to see those vigilantes get their comeuppance. My most recent Villain laughed when they got shot. Welcome to redside. It's evil here.I can tell you this for a fact - I never want to see Arachnos soldiers piling Longbow corpses into a mass grave ever again,

Early adopters get the early adopter tax. I wouldn't be surprised if the slots were even cheaper in the future as at 800 Points they are still overpriced by a good margin.
I'll be paying the early adopter tax on Street Justice though, and loving it. -
This would help break me out of my "hoard Points just in case" mentality. Though you're meant to run out of Points so you have to buy more, this is by design.
Actually my Point hoarding has served me very well so far. -
I toggle Afterburner off between uses because I like the startup animation and sound (though I wish the sound was louder).
P.S. Oh, and allowing flying characters to place a Portal sounds fine to me. -
Quote:QFTFor that weekend I did not see my enjoyment of the game decreased any, once you remove the fluff that is IOs and incarnates the core game remains pretty fun - loot has of course its purpose, something to "work" towards and keep playing, but making your own costume and beating stuff up is the most fun part if you ask me.
People have been quite critical of Free and Premium play, but the core game remains very fun and rewarding. You just have to take off the Incarnate myopia goggles.
I look forward to a non-Incarnate population to play with at 50. -
Congratulations on 7 straight years of Tanker Tuesdays!

Are you or he using a Premium or Free account?

The returning Premium player experience needs to be looked at before it turns too many people away.
The OP unlocked a character that has both builds occupied by grayed IOs. A third build may not be an option because IIRC third builds require Incarnate access to unlock. As a Premium player he doesn't have that.
So, he spent one of his few unlocks on a character that is unplayable. SOing may not be an option as IO builds tend to have very different slotting from IO builds. He may or may not have the funds available to fully SO the character, and even if he did, that means trashing the IOs that are already in the build. Not a very fun option. Oh, he probably has a freespec so he can respec his build to an SO build but should a returning player be faced with a "mandatory" respec as their first in game activity? Or should they just be able to jump on their favorite character and go have some fun?
Spending another of his few unlocks on a character that just happens to have mostly SOs, he tried a Mayhem mission but got very few rewards. The power I'm not sure about, but I believe Premium players must have Tier 7 completed or buy an IO License to receive Invention Salvage and Recipe drops.
That's a pretty poor experience for a returning player. A returning player should be allowed to go have some fun, not be faced with a series of disappointments. The only thing easier than jumping back into the game for free is leaving it again. We should not let that happen!
With that said, TwilightPhoenix, you chose to do radio missions as your first in game activity. That is about the poorest experience you can get for yourself first time back in the game. I highly recommend you roll a brand new alt and check out the brand new starter zones and missions. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! The game is much better than it was in the past, but please give it a chance to show you! -
Being a fan of Grav, I have to say the set is very misunderstood. What people must realize is that a good portion of the set's control is in the pet. Okay, problem, the pet comes pretty late, so Grav struggles for 32ish levels to compete.
I'd make one simple change to make Grav more playable: I'd make it the early pet set. Swap Singularity and Dimension Shift. Extra points for making Dimension Shift into something that won't make your team hate you. And that's it. -
Okay, thanks guys! I recall I did play at least one fearghas arc way back when, but it's time I try out the whole ouvre because the man can write an arc.

I wish the Paragon Store had Walmart's business model. Walmart is all about low-cost, high volume sales. The Paragon Store's current business model is much closer to Tiffany's (high price, low volume. Just look at those Faberge Enhancement Trays.)

What doesn't work with Kinetic Melee?
My favorite is Super Reflexes due to the synergy (+Recharge and scaling resists from SR works really well with Power Siphon and the -Damage). But really, you can't go wrong with pairing a secondary with KM. KM is like the color black; it goes with everything. -
Hey, now! I love Charleston Chew! It's a little piece of the 1920s and if you ask me, it's great!
Also, try Spring Attack on a SS/INV Brute at 50% Fury with Rage double or triple stacked. I've got SA with only two slots (both recharge) on mine and it's so worth having it in the build! And don't forget, it brings mitigation, not just damage!
Best of all, it's one hell of a way to make an entrance! The fun factor of this power is set to 11!
P.S. SS/Fiery Brute, 50% Fury, double Rage, Fiery Embrace>Spring Attack>Foot Stomp! -
So it has passed into game legend how a player made some MA arcs that got him Incarnated into everyone's favorite mad scientist Dr. Aeon.
It's funny, I had originally thought Twoflower was he (his arcs are just that good) but I was mistaken.
So anyone have the arc numbers for the arcs that made Dr. Aeon famous (assuming they're still playable)? I somehow completely missed them and would love to give them a try! -
SR/Spines Tankers would be something to see.
-
I think people are overstating how bad Free and Premium accounts are. They are both very playable and very fun. In fact, a Premium who buys $15 in Points a month in lieu of subscription has a big advantage over a VIP in Paragon Store purchasing power.
-
I'd find that a reasonable compromise. Best thing about it is it gives players a taste of the Incarnate system and will make them curious about trying the rest.
-
I just make the Ice Armor effects part of my costume. You can do some neat things with it.
-
I suggest BA/FA instead. Once you get Fiery Embrace, your Axe will be doing Fire damage. And that's cool. Not to mention damage output will be superior to BA/WP (though squishier).

The fact you were right and they were wrong should be reward enough. Just like my saying the game could and should go f2p, and that the market shouldn't delete your stuff every 60 days (yes, there actually were people defending the idea of the 60 day deletion. I'm sure they'd happily admit they were very wrong on that one).

Level 18 on my SR/KM Tanker so far. His super speeder concept is working out very well so far (SR and KM are both good for that).
29%ish Defense on DOs (with SR barely slotted at this early point).
I think SR will sit firmly in the middle of the pack for Tanker primaries, just like a well balanced set should. Of course part of the appeal of SR is that it sometimes exceeds the sum of its parts and survives situations it has no business surviving (ie, you get lucky).
Will roll a SR/MA Tanker at some point in the future when a leveling slot opens up for it.
Quote:You know, that would make for a great figure-skater-turned-superhero concept. *adds to roll list*I went with ice melee thinking the slows and ice patch would help. It does.
P.S. Tanker SR just might spoil the set for me on any other Archetype, it's just that good lol. Well, until it's time to roll my Staff/SR Scrapper anyway.
P.P.S. The one modification I'd make to the set for Tankers is to let the scaling resistance get to 90%@10% health, and/or let the scaling resists cover toxic and psi. Set doesn't really need that, but if the set were to get any buff for Tankers, I'd hope that's the buff it gets, so it stays completely within its elegant design.
