Just out of curiosity, do Macs benefit from the -renderthread 1 command? I'm guessing that Macs being Macs they already handle things perfectly without it, but just thought I'd ask.

I think the streak breaker code is for human players. Mobs don't have streak breaker code.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, mobs do get the streak breaker.
General replies to the thread:
A Fury building attack chain is a fine way to build Fury (especially solo).
Invulnerability is way better than EA. WAY better. Invulnerability has always been highly underrated on these fora for some reason.
And if your Dark Armor Brute is weaker than your EA Brute, you built your Dark Brute wrong. Very wrong. -
There's not a story in the world that can't be told in 3 missions or less. Multi-arc stories are mostly self-indulgence. Heck, most 5 mission single arcs are self indulgence. As a rule, I avoid multi-arc stories. That the author put their story into multiple arcs shows he and I aren't on the same page as to what makes a good mission or arc in this game.

What difficulty do you play on at level 5?
-
Play what you most enjoy. This is true in PvE and PvP.

Yeah, Hero Archetypes don't have great Inherents by design. Except Blasters, Scrappers and Controllers all get great Inherents, useful on teams and solo. Sorry Tanks and Defenders! -
Just tested my retired Grav/Ener, and Energy is far, far better that it used to be. Arachnoid Bosses used to give me fits, but not anymore!
What's nice about a soft-capped Grav Dom (38% S/L Defense; 45% Power Boosted) is Singy does all the controlling for you and you just go in and attack 100% of the time.
Nice!
Roll Energy. Roll Energy nao! -
I'd settle for the "email" to just not turn red when you get a new email. Let the emails fester in there for an eternity for all I care, but no more red "email", please!

FF is far and away the most boring secondary to play on a MM.
-
Try a Brute. They're very popular for a reason. Solo well, welcome on teams, deal great damage and are very survivable and level very quickly.
Doms are my personal favorite, but they are a tricky Archetype to wrap your mind around and a single mistake can often lead to defeat. They are challenging but in practiced hands are very powerful and fun. For a first-time Dom, I wouldn't take Mind or Grav as a primary. Take anything else instead and you'll have a much more typical, reliable first-time Dom experience (Mind is a good primary but it's atypical, so isn't a good indicator of how all other Doms play; Grav is tricky and should be played by experienced Dom players only-- it is great in the right hands, and after level 32, however). -
Had no idea you were an artist let alone a good one Baddy! Your stuff is great! Can't wait to see the finished DeVore.

The thing that bugs me about Dual Blades is the sounds. They're just awful. "CLING-CLANG! CLING-CLANG!" Since when are we hitting trash bins?
The Cimeroran Traitor sword sounds? Now that's what Dual Blades should have sounded like! -

Thanks for responding. I like the sounds of this. I have 3 doms in the 30s. Which do you think would be best suited for the play style you're talking about (ranged powers)? I have a fire/electric, ice/psi, earth/fire. So far, I like ice controls the most.

Some people like to build ranged Doms, but the approach is just suboptimal compared to a conventional build of range and melee. Make one of your Doms ranged if you want, it's your 15, but keep in mind you are in fact gimping yourself in so doing.
And keep a respec handy just in case.
Remember kids, a Dom that kills slowly dies quickly! -
Soloing is great. Things always go the way I want them to.
On the rare occasion I put together a team, I work very hard to keep things moving and keep everyone entertained. -
What I'd do with Rage:
Nerf the ToHit down to 5% + 20% Accuracy (both enhance with ToHit slotting).
Give a reduced, but unenhanceable recharge (perma but non-stacking).
Nerf the damage to somewhere between 65% and 75%
Remove the crash so it has 100% uptime. -
Actually Shield Charge would be the perfect power to remove in favor of Hide for Stalkers.

...elusivity...was fixed...
[/ QUOTE ]
Try playing a SR Brute or Scrapper and then tell me Elusivity is fixed. It ain't fixed. It's nerfed into the ground.
Glad you're having fun in PvP, though. That's good to see. -
I wouldn't know as I always 1 star Defeat All containing arcs. That's a hint.
-
Middling Resist sets with no HP increase or Heal just don't work in this game. Defense sets like SR can get away with it because of the times when the damage misses, it is 100% mitigated. With Electric Armor, with ever single hit at least some of that damage always gets through and this can chew through even a Brutes HPs surprisingly quickly.
I've rolled it several times and have long since given up on it. It's pretty, but that's all that it is. -
For Banes I suggest IOing for +Damage rather than +Defense. Banes benefit very greatly from it with all the -Res they can throw around (slot -Res procs
).
-
Translation: roll Electric.
Thorns is OK (it's the Dom version of the PvP favorite Spines, after all) but the long animations and redraw can be deadly in the PvP environment.
So, roll Electric. -
I don't have one since they don't let you attack your teammates anymore.

The next epic will be neutral, since this is city of neutrals now.
