  1. You lose large Inspiration drops until you've completed Tier 8.

Seriously though, Premiums and Free Players both get very good deals. VIPs get even better ones.

P.S. For Premiums who haven't completed Tier 7 and Free Players, Hami Origin Enhancements are still in the game and available. Premiums who've completed Tier 4 can buy them from the Auction House, while Free Players will most likely actually have to do the Hami raids to get them.
  2. The box purchase alone is enough to make them Premium.

Cancel the account before the billing date to avoid being charged. The account will reactivate as Premium when Freedom launches. Alternatively keep paying the monthly fee, your eventually Premium account will only get better with more Tokens.

P.S. I'm fairly certain credit card information isn't required to make a new account, but it's been a while since I've made one so I'm not sure.
  3. Update your mids and try again. Health at 38 and Stamina at 41 had me confused at first until I realized you must have a very old copy of mids, or at least the build itself is old and needs to be redone.

Your reward as Rogue or Vigilante is wider access to the game world. Rogues and Vigilantes don't need anything more.

I wonder if the new "download as you play" technology renders this a thing of the past?
  6. I can't believe it's been over a year since GR's release.

I haven't rolled there in some time, and I've deleted what Praetorians I did have. I find the leveling experience is much better in the Isles and Paragon. The Dominator I rolled in Praetoria was my biggest disappointment. Mez resistant mobs at level 9? Really?

There's a lot to like about the missions and stories in Praetoria, and the place looks great and the technology theme is a refreshing change from Primal Earth's heavy magic theme. There's no one to like or root for in the whole place, though. It's one big mess. I tried to make a Hero go down the Loyalist Responsibility path, but I ended up deleting him because of the things that path makes you do aren't Heroic at all.

The game's revenues went right back down to an all-time low after GR's release. A $40 box that gives you 20 levels is a big part of why that was.

Fortunately, Freedom is fixing all this. Maybe I'll roll in Praetoria again sometime if I'm really burnt out on the standard content and need a change of scene. Maybe.
  7. The 30s are nothing compared to what they once were before XP smoothing. I pretty much breeze through them these days. But back in Issue 6 I thought I'd never get my Scrapper out of the 30s, especially the late 30s. It's never been officially acknowledged, but there was definitely a leveling speed bump in that level range back then. It makes sense when you consider the game originally launched with 40 levels. It was a way to keep people playing a bit longer before maxing out and possibly leaving.

I've gotten 3 purples so far in the open beta. Soloing melee classes leads to that kind of thing.
  9. The zones redside are every bit as diverse as blueside. Probably more diverse, in fact. People (especially those with little redside experience) get the idea that the whole place is a dump. But if you take the time to actually explore all the redside zones, you'll see a lot of diversity. Everything from the seemingly ubiquitous slums and Arachnos forts to forests, vast stretches of water, the Isles' equivalent of Las Vegas (blueside has nothing like it), blueside-style cityscapes, CoT Thorntree strongholds, old graveyards, you name it. It's anything but one big Arachnos fort surrounded by slums.

Heck even Mercy city itself is a pretty decent looking city, with lots more character than you tend to see blueside.

Personally, I like it. I play both redside and blue (the silent majority spends at least some time in both sides, I'll willing to bet) but I roll mostly Villains and spend most of my time redside. It's what brought me into the game, after all.

P.S. Grandville gets a lot of hate, but just look at that central tower and steel webbing! Blueside has nothing that cool.
  10. Having tried BS/Regen, I'll say the mitigation in BS is fantastic. Have to say it's one of the the least visually pleasing sets you can roll, though. Such a boring set of animations. I spiced it up a bit by using bio sword, but costume pieces can only do so much.

Regen paired very well with BS thanks to BS's mitigation helping it out so much. That said, Regen also feels a bit underwhelming on Brutes since Brutes have Willpower, and WP steps on Regen's toes in a big way. Less worry about keeping critters around you is the one big advantage Regen has over WP though.

I've been trying to figure out what lethal attacks get that balances out the high lethal resists. Faster recharging powers is the best I can come up with. If you can make 15% more attacks, then your damage being resisted 15% more is balanced. I have no idea if this is what the devs had in mind when setting the various damage resists up.

What turns me off of that combo is I can go to any MMO and roll a sword and board, so I find it excruciatingly boring to do it in this one. To each his own, though!

P.S. The one real advantage a Brute will have with BS is Fury can make up for missing Damage SOs in Parry, where the Scrapper has to take more of a damage hit on the power to really leverage its +Defense.
  11. In Soviet Praetoria, code works on you! Also, no need community rep. Enriche is community rep.
  12. You posted 11 s when you should have posted 15. Your request was therefore rejected. Have a nice day!
  13. Haunted house looks amazing, but "BOO!" for making it forced teaming.

Your suggestion would deprive newbs of the exhilaration* of finding an exploration badge on their own. So, no.
The idea finding them is fun is directly contradicted by the fact you have to get their location via PW or Vidiotmaps or just having a really good memory. If it's so much fun, why do we install Vidiotmaps? Because it isn't.

How is it hard to find when you can just wiki it or vidiot it? It isn't a challenge, it's annoying and bars newer players almost entirely. Imagine a new player who sees a glint in the distance, goes over to it, gets a badge, then decides to look for more of those glints. Current system is, you get a badge for no reason as far as you can tell.
  16. Exploration badges can be a source of fun, but right now the markers are almost invisible and you have to go to Paragon Wiki to find out where they are.

How about adding lighting or effects to draw attention to the badge markers from a distance? This would make it easier for vets to relocate them and it would make it much easier for new players to discover and get into badging as well.
  17. Study the guide upthread Shaggy5. It has all the answers you're looking for.
  18. Steelclaw complains about these things, but deep down inside he's actually happy about them. Reroll and enjoy Steelclaw!
  19. Auto hit, unresistable damage is definitely not my favorite game mechanic, but the Seed is a Giant Monster done right so I'll just look past that little fault.
  20. He could definitely play Panthro if he worked on his diction a bit. Panthro is the brains of the operation. A gentleman warrior. Duncan could definitely pull that roll off.
  21. I agree, the whole Harvey thing went on way, way too long.

The Scarrens are some of the very best sci-fi antagonists, and the threat they represent to the Peacekeepers always added a very interesting atmosphere to the situation presented in the show. The Peacekeepers may be bad, but they are all that stands between humanity and the Scarren hordes.
  22. I guess they've abandoned YouTube? I'm subbed over there and I haven't seen any of this.
  23. This isn't necessarily limited to those who started in or live in Galaxy City. Your character could just happen to be there when the storm hits, or have foreknowledge of the event and goes in in an attempt to limit the damage/do what they can. There are many story and play style options here.

    Can I cry now?

    Best. Feedback. Ever.

Highly amusing that there is a large contingent of people out there who think of the AE as a farm tool and only a farm tool. Never even crosses their minds that a story could perhaps be told or a challenge perhaps given with it.

BTW, if you don't like low ratings, don't make challenge arcs. Challenge arcs make just about everyone who plays AE angry or annoyed. Challenge arcs sit in the sweet spot for hate.

We're talking about inherently dense farm-tunnel-visioned people here. A response could only lead to worse things. Best to forget it and move on.
  25. They were still having conventions for it? Huh.

The show was good, but I wouldn't call it better than Star Trek myself. I'd call it different. The show's take on alien physiology was definitely superior, though (but then what isn't superior to bumpy foreheads?)

I felt the show ended at a good time. The last season was, IMVHO, not good at all compared to what came before it. And at times there was a bit too much conflict between the shipmates, making me feel like there was no one to root for. Only at times, though.

The mini-series that capped the show off was really good.
