    New Brawl Sounds

I like the new Brawl sound. I like it a lot.
  2. Regen is a pretty good set, but it does need a bit of help to put it where it should be.

    1. Give it 95% Regeneration Debuff Resistance. Regeneration is the set's keystone, just like Defense is Super Reflexes' keystone. SR is allowed to hang on to its Defense, Regeneration should be allowed to hang on to its Regeneration.

    2. Let Revive cast the equivalent of Moment of Glory on you when you use it. Using Revive currently too often results in you just getting defeated again. This change would make the power worth more and make the set overall more fun.

Scrapper: this will provide the best Street Justice experience due to Scrapper damage, but the worst Super Reflexes experience due to the AOE Defense toggle and passive coming so late.

Brute: this provides a Street Justice experience second only to the Scrapper and a Super Reflexes experience second only to the Tanker. I highly recommend this setup as it sits in a very comfortable place.

Stalker: the Street Justice experience isn't that great, but it beats the Tanker at least. You're not playing the full Street Justice set, most notably you lose the -Resist power, so that's another strike against it. Super Reflexes on Stalkers isn't too bad. More Defense and easier to softcap than the Scrapper, but less DDR than the Scrapper, too (and less scaling resistance). Brute and Tanker SR are both better.

Tanker: the Street Justice experience here will be adequate, but every other Archetype will give you a better experience with the set due to higher damage output. Tankers get far and away the best Super Reflexes experience, though. Choose the Tanker if you are extremely defeat averse. Otherwise, roll the Brute.

    Wrong.
  4. The idea that you can make a rational decision to work for any supervillain is pretty far fetched. Working for any of them is inherently irrational, which is why their henchmen are usually pretty deranged individuals themselves. The Dark Knight movie told us exactly the kind of person it takes to hench, and you don't want to be that person.

So I choose, "None of the above".

P.S. Kudos to your Silver Agey dream.

    R.I.P. Uncle Ben

I was surprised he was still alive when I saw him in in the first Spider-Man. He was a great actor.
  6. You should put half your alts on Freedom, the other half on Virtue. That's where the population is and where it will continue to be post Freedom. Spreading your alts between two servers helps when one server goes down or otherwise has technical issues.
  7. /UNSIGNED

Your reward for being Rogue/Vigilante is access, access which Heroes and Villains don't have, so you're going to have to suck it up on rewards.

True enough. Regen gets freedom of movement too, since you don't have to worry about staying surrounded like you do with WP.

Of course the downside of the clicky secondary is it's eating into your DPS, even if only by a small amount.
  9. A SR/MA Tanker Hero and a SR/KM Tanker Villain (possibly Brute, but the scaling resists and -damage on Tankers is going to be something to see).

Would've gone with Street Justice/Willpower Scrapper as I intended, but the set is delayed, so maybe I'll be playing it sometime next year.

Been toying with the idea of getting a second free account going just to get the full free game experience perspective. No idea what I'd roll there.
  10. Exalted is one of only three things I dislike about Freedom. However, I'm fully confident it will be a ghost town server several months from now as this is an MMO and people want to play where the people are, and when Freedom opens to everyone, the people will be on the full-featured servers we all know and love.
  11. I used the costume function of the trainers all the time in beta. Was very handy. My only issue is that training was two click access, and costumes were one click. That should be reversed.

People will still use the tailors when they are the closer of the two options, and to unlock costume slots.
  12. HO's will still work and are obtainable even for free players, no license or sub required. A fully HOed build is the next-best thing to IOed.

For $1.50 or so, you can get the Paragon Store Origin -KB IO. It'll level with you and requires no license or sub to use. Completely IOing a character at those prices with PSOs would be insanity, but buying individual proc IOs is very doable.

    Or get written at all.

P.S. The IO license is only $2 a month. Pretty reasonable given the hours of entertainment tuning an IO build can give.

I'm a long-time opponent of global channels, as I feel they divided the community and make the game look deserted to those not in the know about them.

The good news is that free players will not have access to them, so this may encourage some vets to come out of their hidey holes and communicate out in the open.

Wouldn't that be nice? To have communication going on where everyone can actually see it?

Right now as the MMO generation as a whole moves into having children and careers, MMOs are trending towards casual play. One wonders what will happen when the MMO generation begins to retire. The resurgence of hardcore sandboxes? Interesting to think about.

Here's hoping unlockables also have a purchase option. Accolades, too. I'd happily pay to never have to kill 200 Family Bosses again.
  16. City of Heroes Freedom presents some interesting challenges and opportunities to team leaders. Free players having no access to /tell, and being unable to form groups are the most important opportunities/hurdles.

I'm very excited and glad to see it on Tankers. I want to run a Martial Arts Tank and a Kinetic Melee Tank.

Not really needed as you can add +health yourself since you're not chasing +Defense like every other set in the game is. All those set bonus opportunities other sets have to spend on +Defense, SR can spend on anything.

I think SR is going to be a solid, middle-of-the-pack performer. Not the best, but not the worst. It's a simple, elegant, well balanced set, which is why I like it.

Now if only they'd fix that bug that allows Shield to have 95% DDR...

People like to pretend they are protecting the game from a lawsuit by getting people genericed, but the above is the actual truth of the matter. It's a form of PvP, people destroying a character just because they can.

The lawsuit was settled a long time ago, there is no threat at all of a new lawsuit, and there is no need whatsoever for any player to report TM violations. Absolutely none. Except the above mentioned PvP.
