  1. I've been playing my kat/inv for quite a while, like my current build but I'd like to tweak it a bit. I need aid self, I need it bad. DP just isnt enough to get me up if I'm dying. I tank fairly often with the scrapper so I need all the passives, which I got now and all of them are trislotted for res. Also, I need an aoe attack, I think I could replace energy torrent with the lotus drops but I'm not sure about this.
    So, if someone could squeeze in aid self and lotus drops into my build I'd be really happy. I'll just make a short list of what I want in it to make sure you didnt miss anything

    1) aid self
    2) the lotus drops
    3) no other changes´
    4) dont drop any /inv powers
    5) working attack chain without slows, I'm not bothered if it's not water tight when I'm slowed down

  2. I could really use some help with this. Cant choose from all the powers or slots so I'll tell you what I'm looking forward to do with my WS

    1) When in teams mostly spend time in human form doing all possible damage, shields should be used here but slots arent that needed
    2) If things get tight I could jump onto dwarf and save the day :P

    So, human form should do pretty good damage and dwarf should have enough slots to do some damage, be able to heal and have an attack chain going.

  3. I play both genders ingame. Mostly male though. The general question for me usually is if the powersets/AT fit on the gender. Like, say battle axe and invulnerability dont sound very good sets for a female, when claws/SR would fit nicely. Then, if I get some unisex sets, like blaster ones I ask myself if I want to look at male [censored] in tights or female [censored] in tights while playing :P

    Claws/Inv

    My kat/inv scrapper's been at 50 for a year I think. Dont know much about the claws set but I'll give my 2 cents at inv. I got every single power from inv, all slotted, even the passives with 3res. I run all the 3 toggles with FA always (get FA at 41 instead of the passives), conserve energy is also nice against endurance draining mobs.
    I dont have hero builder at my side atm, posting this from school, but I'll give you an idea about my slots on the /inv powers
    All passives: 3x res (except tough hide which is 3x def)
    Temp invuln & unyielding: 3x res, 2x endrdx
    Invincibility: 3x def, 2x endrdx, 1x tohit
    Dull pain: 3x rechrdx 3x heal
    Unstoppable: 3x rechred, this doesnt really benefit from the 3x res if you got 3res in all toggles and passives like I do.
    Tough and weave is a waste to get on /inv scrapper, the +def from weave is around 5% trislotted, and you dont need more S/L res. I dont have aid self but might be getting it in I8 if I can find the powers to throw away
    With running an attack chain of 5 or 6 attacks depending on how much slow effects I got on me, running 5 toggles (3 inv toggles, combat jumping and FA) I can manage my endurance and tank an AV without unstoppable, which I mostly use when the team is getting hurt.

  5. Dont know if anyone pointed up this because I was too lazy to read past the first 2 pages but I find it funny that the more you earn the more you must pay. Rent isnt like taxes where you pay a percentage of what you earn :/

    Say, person A who earns 100000 a year rents a house which has say, 100 square meters total.
    Person B, who earns 50000 a year rents a house which has also 100 square meters total.
    Person C owns the houses

    If the percentage what they must pay is 20% from what they earn, person A must pay 20000 to live in the house while his neighbour, person B must pay 10000 to live in a same sized house under the rule of person C.

    That wouldnt work in real life. No way.
  6. I thought about rolling a dm/regen scrapper, so I'd like to know the cons and pros of them. To mention, I will be getting the sands of mu temp power as a veteran reward so I might not need all the attacks. Not sure about it though

    So, cons, pros and a build please!
  7. Well, I thought he would have a sort of dual personality which would sometimes get the twist of him, thus going unstoppable (activating the power, of course :P) and just rushing into the enemy with a hope of surviving
  8. Made up something myself, tell me what you think! First time I ever try to make a background for a character...

    "I saw it, I saw something shining in the sunlight. I walked towards it to find out what it was. I found it, a sword with the word "Gressil" etched on the blade. I touched it and then everything disappeared. It felt like a dream, I was floating in darkness. Then, I saw him, a man kneeling towards me holding the sword in his hands. I only heard a part of what he said, the only part that sounded important: "Take it from me, take the blade from me and let me free..." I took the sword and found myself back in Skyway City. I had the sword in my hands and I felt powerful, powerful enough to bring the universe to its knees! But no, I felt I had something more important to do than conquer the universe. Something I'd been feeling for a long time, but something hidden... I felt the waves of energy coming from the sword. Suddenly, I heard a voice in my head, the same voice I had heard in the dream... Then I knew it, I knew I had to help the people who were lost in this world..."

  11. For the last few days I've been trying to stitch together a story for my scrapper but well... I've always been bad at writing stories
    So, if anyone would be willing to make a story for my scrapper I'd really appreciate it. I'm sorry I cant now reward you with much inf, if even at all because I thought I'd quit the game some months ago and handed out all my inf...

    I'll give you some info about my char first so you might get it done easier:
    First of all, my scrapper is of magic origin. He wears a katana as his weapon and is very resilient to physical damage due to invulnerability as secondary powerset. I thought it would fit him to be some kind of a spirit bound to a mortal body. Imo the spirit thing would match the fact he's magic origin and resilient to physical attacks but psychic attacks kill him fast.

    Oh, and the story doesnt have to be long, preferably short enough so I can put it into my character I.D :P

    Regen or Inv

    From personal experience I'd take inv

    Lately I've mostly been tanking AVs and stuff for my friendson my kat/inv scrapper and havent had any big problems doing it. I've tried regen but it didnt really suit me, smashing self heals and that stuff is damn annoying if you got even a bit of lag. There are 2 sides of the coin though, best thing about regens is 0 downtime but worst thing is that they can die in 1 hit :/
    Best thing about inv is that you withstand alot of hits, even from an AV/EB but the worst thing is (doesnt go for me but many say) the end cost

    Human/squid PB

    I thought I'd ask for some help here as my hero builder wont work right now... If anyone can get a build with these requirements I'd be very happy

    1. hasten and super speed
    2. 6 slotted squid and squid powers
    3. 3 recharge in light form


    What I'm looking forward to doing is spending time in squid until light form is ready and then go do IS, seekers and nova

    Third try...

    Well... I dont really want sj on this character and dont bother about the mez protection really. I just use LF when I nova/want to leeroy so additional res aint really needed if you ask me.

    Proton scatter and luminous detonation are good if I want to drop many targets that is. I dont exemp very much on the PB (he's at 50) so I dont really care about BU being pretty late on the build.

    SS I took because it really makes up for the movement speed and hasten is pretty good also to give me a temporary dps boost.

    Oh and why dont I want SJ? I have it on all my other characters ;P

    Umm... You sure?
    Resist Physical Damage = Resistance
    Temp invulnerability = Resistance
    Unyielding = Resistance boost AND Defence reduction
    Resist Elements = Resistance
    Resist Energies = Resistance
    Unstoppable = Resistance

    Invinciblity = Defense
    Tough Hide = Defense

    Looking at it like that I'd say it's far more RES based than DEF based, although I could be wrong, but from my time with the set I don't think I am.

    What he said. This is just why many people think it's RES based. Invincibility gives you a truck load of def, I could check some numbers about my build which is def/res slotted to the max.

    Without invincibility maxed/without divine avalanche/unstoppable

    With Unstoppable S/L res goes beyond 100%, all res but psi somewhere around 73%. With DA unstacked I get around 25% melee def, if I stack it it's around 50%. With invinc maxed I have maybe 25-30% def to all damage types but psi.

    With unstoppable, stacked DA and invinc maxed I am a tank.

    50% melee def, 25-30% def to all damage types but psi, S/L res 102% and all other res but psi 73%.

    Now THAT's what I call a scranker

    I've played 50 levels with my kat/inv and have had my unyielding detoggled by a mob never. NEVER.

    If a -1 tsoo can do it you suck or your CoH is gimped (no offence ;P)
  22. I have a 50 kat/inv and I've tried claws...
    Claws didnt really hit me but ah well, think it's a matter of personal preferance. To get to the point, /inv starts to shine (visually too) when you get unyielding, the next step forward is having invinc and from there only unstoppable can make you feel better.
    On my 50 I have every single power from inv set and I've slotted them all to the max (all passives 3 res, toggles 3 res and 2 end red) which makes me pretty tough and prevents the big end problems. I usually never have problems unless I'm getting drained out of endurance but there, conserver energy/unstoppable is your friend.
    A thing about /inv which many dont know: the set is actually very much def based with a truck load of S/L def. When you get your +DEF powers trislot them with def ASAP.

    The thing which you need to learn about inv is timing, when to hit dull pain and when unstoppable is necessary.

    P.S even if the name is invincibility, you are nowhere near invincibility in certain circumstances (psi)
  23. Well umm... Some things I didnt like about your build:
    1) LBE is a lame ranged attack, doesnt really fit my characters background (nor does torrent either, but hey, better than LBE)
    2) I had lotus, never used it, would rather have divine avalance instead of it for some melee defence to last longer
    3) I dont like hasten because once it is on, another time it is not :/
    4) I want resist elements, even íf people say it's bad. I want it to max out my resistances :/
  24. Ok, need to repost for minor tweaks for the build as the last post edit time expired :/

    So, my idea is the following:

    I'd mostly be in squid to deal a wee bit of damage, but switch back to human whenever light form is up to add that bit of leeroy in it and also to nuke the enemies while they have a hard time hitting me

    So, the damage would concentrate on squid (I think) and on human when light form is up.

    Any build templates are very welcome
  25. First shot with hero builder, and I'm not really sure about if I could keep up with the attack chain. Endurance should be manageable since I have the same number of end reducers on all powers as I have now and I dont have any problems with end.

    There are a few things I want to know about this build:
    1) What is the downtime of my divine avalance, if I cant stack it?
    2) Can I keep up my attack chain?
    3) Would this work in PvP? Any changes towards more PvP survivability except swapping travel power, SJ is the only travel power I can use, hate every else :P also slotting sprint and/or hurdle wont happen.
