About your build Nightmarer... I'm not going to toggle tough anyway so not worth putting those enhancements there. The 15'ish% S/L resistance wont do much with my defences tbh.
Switching the 2nd run IO from quickness to sprint might actually be a good idea. The run speed will stay at about the same, right?
I'm quite settled on taking conserve, currently even with only the SR toggles + quills I seem to need it every now and then, add weave to that and it will be needed even more often.
Anyways, I'm most probably trying both of the builds on test when I get the chance. Thanks for comments so far! -
Well, I could swap hurdle for health but I dont think I will have the inf for a miracle +recov or a numi +recov in ages. Besides, I got conserve and I can use blues. And anyways, I dont have FA.
I dont think I need hasten tbh, I run an attack chain of lunge +impale+ripper+throw spines, works well for me.
The fighting pool is there for the extra 11% def. 3% from tough and 8'ish from weave. That really adds for some survival. The 5% from weave does more than you think, raising def from 39% to 44'ish for melee (decreasing the chance to get hit in melee to 6%), 35% to 40% for ranged (decreasing the chance to get hit by ranged attacks to 10%) and from 33 to 38% for aoe (decreasing the chance to get hit to 12% from aoes).
I'm not going to get a travel power really, just cant fit in with all the other stuff. Also, I wont be running tough, it's there just for the +3% def global bonus.
Also noticed you took stamina quite late in your build, not much exemping for TFs -
After playing my spines/SR travel powerless for a while I decided to make a build for even more survival; keeping aid self instead of a travel power and sacrificing a few powers for the fighting pool (for tough and weave).
This is the build that I decided would be the final one. IOs in the build I mostly already have and those that I dont arent that expensive.
Any ideas / suggestions / feedback about the build really appreciated! Although keep in mind that it is strictly a PvE build.

Super reflexes are imo the 2nd best of the scrapper secondaries. All the powers in SR are worth taking and when you got them all it will be a really nice dodgenator character
30+ was IMO when the set really got alive. -
So this is my first ever defender past lvl 4 (currently lvl 21) and nearing SOs I'm thinking of respeccing this.
I'm not even going to try to compose a build of my own because I've never ever played a buffer / any other kind of defender before... So this is where I need your help. Some things I'd like in the build are:
-SJ or fly as travel power
-hasten to stack with siphon speed
-no increase density.. I find SB to be enough buffing alone :s
-leadership, preferably up to vengeance
-other team friendly powers too, it is a team character after all

The build looks good power wise but there are a few things I'd change:
1. The amount of heal enhs in health and fast healing, only put in 1-3, the 4th and 5th ones wont do much
2. Instant healing, 3 recharges ;D
3. Resilience, only 1 res needed here imo.
4. QR and stamina: again, only 3 endmods in them, 4th and 5th ones dont do much at all
5. 2 endreds are enough in assault and tactics imo
6. I'd slot both dull pain and reconstruction with 3heal & 3rechred
Those are just my opinions. If you feel yours are better no need to listen to me at all ;D -

Any space for my defender still? Granted he's only lvl 1 but a bit of SK and solo play will get me to your lvl quite soon I think. -
Other useful choices are hasten (if you dont have it yet) and assault (lil extra damage is never bad, if you drop the enemy they wont drop you
)
But if it's just those two... Then pick revive. Both are quite situational but MoG is a bit difficult to use right. -
Get a katana if you want to be cool and have cool two-handed swings

Not exactly, if you have 10% def to ranged and 5% to lethal, the calculations will only take in the 10% def against ranged.
All of the def checks only, ONLY use the highest defence value available. -
