Sounds very, very chaotic and could be fun. A lot of AoE will hurt the pets but if there are so many around I cant think of a realistic situation where an AI controlled NPC (or multiple NPCs) could take down an army like that. Especially if you have debuffs raining from secondaries, like 8x tar patch or something.

Ah yes, forgot to mention this one. Freezing rain followed up with Aim'd Rain of Arrows + Fistful + Explosive Arrow is going to deal some tasty AoE damage. -

what do I get instead of my Fluffies? Demented brainless balls of light that go boom?
[/ QUOTE ]
I find them quite useful, they do a lot of damage. Long recharge on them though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Warshade fluffies are much better (yes, I do play a PB) but the peacebringer fluffbombs arent all useless. Just not as useful. -
Storm is very nice when coupled with /Dark (AoE immob which does good damage, self heal and another cone AoE which does nice damage), /Sonic (-res, what else do you need to know?), /Psy (-rech capping, psy also has 2 mediocre AoEs) and /Ice (freezing rain + ice storm + blizzard, frost breath with freezing rain, you wont probably even need snow storm with this).

Good point also, though the argument on the US re: the newer players is one of mentality. That being, the difference between someone losing and thinking 'Hmm, I lost. I'll examine how and improve my playstyle/build/call in some friends to help' ...versus "omg, haxx! Nerf him!"
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a true case but... If the "I'll examine how to improve my playstyle/build/call in some friends to help" thing only boils down to picking the wrong powersets back when you created the character or needing a total respec to lose PvE effectiveness (admittedly, not that grave with dual builds coming) OR, IMO the worst thing, having to spend hundreds of millions of influence to even be at a competitive stage at PvP. This is where it all goes wrong. If you dont have the time to spend hundreds of hours / organized farming SG to get a lot of influence in a short time it doesn't really matter how good you are at PvP.
Even a noob with a billion inf build or the "right sets" can easily win a player with a generic IO/SO build or the "wrong sets".
Overall, I like the PvP changes and might even have a try at it. Currently the only thing that puts me off PvP is the need for an expensive build to even have a chance at beating the pro-PvPers. -

That's not entierly true. there is another problem, and that is wide variation in leg length alowed in this game. Walking is not like running but slower. When you walk, your leg acts as a pendulum, and swings at its natural frequancy, which is proportional to the square root of the length of the leg. And your subconcious brain knows this. It will soon spot that walking looks unrealistic if they don't do different animations for short and tall characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
^This
I'm not saying I'm against walking animations. Darth Vader and all the other super villain people would look a lot less intimidating if they always rushed in... But. I'd much rather have the devs spend the time in actual content. -

There's also another possibility. Make it an acrobatics-like toggle, but instead of the mag 9 KB resistance have a mag 5 (or however high it could be without being overpowered) -fly resistance that stacks with hover. I find it extremely annoying being dropped from the sky every 5 mins fighting anything else but council...

Crush: 109.13 (DoT)
Lift: 84.51
Gravity Distortion: 150.15 (DoT)
Propel: 287.18
[/ QUOTE ]
These will never end up as the final numbers unless all the "damage ATs" are getting seriously buffed. I mean, a grav/rad with perma AM and assault (+ possible set bonuses) will deal insane burst damage.
Let's say, both hold and propel are slotted for 95% damage.
Gravity Distortion: 150.15 * (1 [Base] + 0.95 [Enhancements] + 0.2 [AM] + 0.15 [Assault]) = 345
Propel: 287.18 * (1 [Base] + 0.95 [Enhancements] + 0.2 [AM] + 0.15 [Assault]) * 2 [Containment] = 1320
Going by those numbers Propel seems quite nasty and that is without any outside +damage buffs or +damage from set bonuses. Even if the hold lasts 1 second it is enough to kick off Containment. Basically at least grav controllers will be 2-3 hitting folks depending on how quick they are at using insps and if they have any resistance buffs. -
I dont think the devs are going to fix it anyway. It's been there for a long time and I'm 100% sure they've noticed it already. Besides, what reason do they have to limit the already very tight (slot wise) tri-form Kheldian builds?
-
[ QUOTE ]
You don't know about the respec bug?
You can put slots into thr Nova and Dwarf powers before you actually get the form powers in a respec. Handy way to spend those early slots
[/ QUOTE ]
^This
Been there since forever and I'm quite sure they'll never fix it seeing it makes it just that tiny bit easier to arrange slots into forms and the more powerful powers you get later without having to in some cases waste the few important slots at the beginning. -
Pretty much says it, what will your builds look like with the coming buffs?
I'm going for a triform PB build which will be something like this for max HP, some +damage and a bit of +rech and +acc as well.

Just checked Mids. PBU does not affect -res duration. Also for the hold procs, I dont think they're that useful. I had them on one of my toons and never liked them too much. I'll rather have veng instead. And for the BU proc, if it applied for the whole team it'd be great, but when it's just for me and my 2 damage attacks it isnt too great I'm afraid.
-
I'm not yet sure whether I'm picking REL on my /invuln scrapper or not... While it would be nice to go from 20'ish F/C/T to near 30 F/C/T resistance I'm not entirely convinced to drop hasten for it. 70% rech should be enough without hasten though. So much to think about!
-
There are actually only 2 things I'm considering atm:
[1]: Snow storm vs Vengeance, do I actually need snow storm with 60% slow in sleet? I never seem to have a chance to get any use out of snow storm in big teams (against AVs it's a bit meh anyway) because things drop so fast.
[2]: Psi mastery vs power mastery. While I do understand that PBU does great things for all of my debuffs, do I actually need it? I'm already exceeding -100% def with sleet + infrigidate and it doesnt affect -res or -regen. Picking up psi mastery instead would give me mass hypnosis (for cheap purple) and mind over body (which I think looks a lot better than temp invuln and also offers psionic resists) -
Hehe that looks like it's way out of my league
any comment on the build I posted?

Also the 10% sales fee should be paid entirely at the sale, rather then 5% when putting an item up and 5% at the sale. That way sellers could adjust their price as well, with out loosing Inf.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think there's a reason for this. The devs want people to start pricing from the low end rather than hitting everything for sale at 100mil and just waiting because there is no extra cost. Now people generally want to put things for sale at a price they dont have to adjust.
Say, there's an item that has sold for 30mil lowest and 40mil highest. If there was no cost in putting the item for sale everyone would put it for sale at 40mil and just wait til someone buys it. Now most would put it for sale in the 30-35mil region where it is likely to get sold without you having to adjust the price and lose extra inf.
Dont change it. -
Just hit 40 with my cold/sonic and I'm thinking of respeccing (dropping shout, snow storm and picking up leadership) her. Currently I'm trying to get as much +rech I can with a reasonable price along with some +acc and +hp. It is a PvE team build which is why I dropped snow storm and added slow enhancers into sleet.
What do you think?

I think it doesnt fit sonic resonance being different colour
[/ QUOTE ]
Then they really need to fix the difference between Energy Blast and Energy Manipulation as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldnt mind them being changed. -
As much as I like sonic blast... I think it 1) doesnt fit sonic resonance being different colour 2) it looks dull.
-
Change the colour to orange. It has to fit Sonic Resonance, besides the white/gray blasts arent too great to look at, I want flashy orange soundwaves!!
-
Wouldnt it have been much easier to fix it by giving all the hostages similar ability to ignore stealth as rikti drones? :S
