Time for a necro
I've been duoing my Demons/Traps recently, and have got him up to 27. If we are actually getting I19 this autumn as they said, I doubt I'll be level 50 before that with the lot of exams I've got going right now. So, I thought I should roll up a level 50 respec build suitable for I19 (inherent Fitness).
Budget is pretty much everything except purples (cheaper purples are ok, though) and no PvP IOs. Any comments would be great.

Yep, the lag is insane. Couldn't complete a timed mission required for a badge because of it
-
Is it just me or is everyone else experiencing EXTREME lag this morning?
I'm having no problems browsing the internet or watching videos etc., but Union seems to lag insanely much. Wouldn't mind it as much, but I'm doing some timed missions for a badge and seems like I won't be getting it... -
-
I wouldn't mind it so much, but the autohit Nukerez with huge -end and -recovery right after he is defeated is just a bit too much. Would be nice to have at least a few seconds to get away from the radius.
-
-
Soul Mastery is just great. I love it on my DM/SD/Soul and will love it on my Ice/SS/Soul once I have respecced him.
-
I'm hoping some of the power pools will be revamped. Mostly these three, but I wouldn't mind seeing more worthy tier 4 powers in the travel pools.
Presence - I don't recall seeing anyone other than two or three MMs (for the AoE taunt) have this power pool. Ever.
Stealth - it's good for PvP because of Phase, but for PvE it's mostly used for LotG +Rech mules.
Medicine - in most cases inspirations are better than this power pool. Aid Other has such a short range and small heal that it's virtually useless. Stimulant's duration and range are also too short. In most cases Respites > Aid Self because either you have so much mitigation you rarely need it or you're being hit with so many things you wouldn't have a chance of pulling Aid Self off. Inspiration combining for Wakies > Resuscitate. -
If you want help soloing GMs, just ask Silverado. I think he's the most succesful GM soloer lurking on the boards.

Quote:This pretty much sums how I operate. I rarely bid over 100k on common or uncommons, but if that one piece of salvage is the only thing between me and finishing a build, I'm going to buy it. Right now.I've never used base storage for invention salvage, and I virtually never use the vault system either. I just buy whatever I need, either at a buy-it-within-fifteen-minutes price, or a buy-it-now-price, or I put in an overnight bid and go on to something else.
My buy-it-now prices usually have caps though. I rarely spend more than 100,000 for common salvage, although I'll easily fork over 50,000 to 75,000. If the price climbs to 200,000 or above I'll use tickets or bid overnight. Similarly, I'm happy paying 2 million for almost any rare salvage, but I don't think I should ever pay more than 3 million (which I did a few times this weekend). It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that I don't want to pay that much.
What I do hate, though, is my habit to start bidding low and then having to rebid insignificant amounts of influence. It doesn't really matter anymore whether I spend 1k, 50k or 100k on a common salvage, but I often end up bidding 3 or 4 times to get a common. It's hard to break old habits. -
I can confirm that this will work and that playing the market for profits is easy. Really easy. I had my first billion earned through it when I was 16. First influence cap achieved a bit after I turned 17. If a kid can do it, so can you, and this is a very nice way to get started!

I know Incinerate is a good attack, I really like it on my FM/SR Scrapper. I'm not sure if it'll be worth picking on a Dominator, though, if it's going to be my only melee attack.
I'm thinking of going all out Recharge on the Dom so attack chain would probably look something like this: Fossilize > FBlast > Blaze with another FBlast added if my global Rech isn't sufficient to run that chain. -
Roll a dice or use a random number generator to choose the sets. You can't go wrong.
-
Guess I could take Incinerate while leveling up, then. I never like Combustion, though, mostly because of the enormously long animation time which doesn't even look cool. I wouldn't mind it if in the space of those 3 seconds my character ripped the hearts out of every enemy within radius, set those hearts on fire and put them back in their chests. Because that doesn't happen I'm not going to take Combustion, it seems.
Consume on the other hand seems really nice because two SOs is enough to make the +recovery part perma and I only need to hit 5 enemies for it to equal Stamina. I was thinking that Consume + Domination would do the trick, but I could just as well resort to Stamina. Back to tinkering with Mid's... -

4) You shall call the congregation "the league of ebil".
Just for giggles. -
Maybe the bid creepers who exist have put 10 low bids each to ensure they get a freespec for every single one of their characters for I19. Maybe 100 people who don't actually have enough influence on hand currently have posted all of their current influence in hopes of catching one. Maybe 170 people want the recipe, but do not wan't to pay the "evil flipper price", thus proving that flippers don't actually make us pay any more than we want to.
-
I always thought it was intentionally changed so that powers on auto-activate wouldn't activate when targeting a friendly NPC to avoid lag caused by powers in places like WW.
I haven't noticed a problem with powers not activating in combat. -
Quote:I started doing that LONG before I started marketing. Up until I12 or something I basically funded all my characters by farming, but had resorted to ending stuff with x,123,123 or x,512,512 to avoid bidding 10x the amount of inf I wanted to. And also because 1, 2, 3 and 5 are all located so that I can only use my left hand to bid. Later I added this habit to posting items so that I no longer posted them for even amounts, but that, too, was well before I actually started using the market for other things than selling my drops and purchasing stuff I needed.Actually, you overestimate people's abilities. That IS a trick only marketers use, by virtue of the fact that if someone is doing that, they deserve the title, for better or worse.
Quote:And why do you people keep bringing up salvage? I'm not SAYING ANYTHING about salvage. But for the record, I just looked, and about 90% of the sales i saw were for an even number. So, don't mind me if i doubt your observational and intellectual abilities. I did notice that high-priced items had a higher chance of having an un-even bid number, but for the most part, the majority of bids ended in 0's.
Quote:Just because YOU don't bid-creep doesn't mean other people don't. But you're right, they do liek to bid what the last few people did. However, in an instance where they can SEE one just sold for 151511515 or whatever, don't you think they would have tried a bid closer to that before going up to 175M? Also, you've contradicted yourself. First you say "Tons" of people are smart enough to bid uneven amounts, but now you're calling them sheep? make up your mind!
Quote:So, are you countering this position or not? Hard to tell.
Quote:Some people have already done all three trials and used all their vetspecs. And with the announcement of free fitness coming our way, plenty of people want to get their builds in order or at least have an extra respec handy before the tsunami hits. And while you're right in that there could be a few extra people putting in respecs for sale at a high price, what, pray-tell, do you think someone is doing making multiple bids of 151etcetcetc for? Or are you going to tell me that over a hundred different people are making bids at that price point? Are you that dense to pick a fight that you're going to start trolling with an illogical conclusion such as that?
Oh yeah, and your conclusion can be countered by the conclusion itself. Maybe those people with multiple uneven bids actually want to get a freespec in store for every single character they have?
Quote:Respec recipes have more perceived value, plus who in their right mind would flip vendor trash? WTD are YOU smoking?
Quote:No, it's for vets who've finished the respec trials a long time ago and used all their vetspecs and freespecs, too. It happens, especially since every other issue introduces new power changes. Or are you going to tell me that getting inherent health and stamina (that you'll have to respec into if you already selected them as pool powers) isn't going to have ANY effect on anyone's builds? While true we'll get a freespec with the next issue, some people need to respec more than once to properly move enhancements around, and unless someone has Mids open on another screen, people are bound to make slotting goofs and will need to 'spec all over again.
Quote:Not everyone can do a respec trial, but aside from that, yeah, that'd be something fun to see, heh. -
Hehe, pretty much what I thought then.
I'm so far planning to only use ranged attacks: Blaze, FBlast, Fossilize for single targets and Fire Breath, Fire Ball and Rain of Fire for AoEs. For control, well, I'll probably cycle the following combos as needed: Stalagmites + Cages (most probably QS here, too), EQ + Quicksand, Gasses + Cages (again, QS is likely). Should have one of those available at every spawn even before getting my hands on IOs, I think.
With Consume and Domination, I don't think I'll need Stamina even before IOs which isn't bad news.
Now to whip up a build... -
One thing you could also try is KM/Elec. Elec can look quite ghostly when coloured right (I coloured mine about the same as Shadow Meld).
