Ghost Widow has Dark Regeneration. The fewer people in melee, the smaller the chance that she'll abruptly recover thousands and thousands of HP.

I'm aware of GW's Dark Regen.
Defensive buffs should be more than enough to deal with it.
Additionally -Regen,-Recharge or the rarer -Heal(which as pointed out above Cold Dom has) can all deal with it. -

If I Remember correctly awhile back Arcanaville had posted some research on how the female models were made inferior to the male ones because of discrepancies in combat stance and attack animations.
I suspect this is related to that and would explain why it's no longer used in game. -
It could be a teleporter, a time travel device or a huge earthquake machine.

I fully realize that a Pentad and 4 corrs aren't mutually exclusive. However to me 4 corrs isn't really balanced(although I do realize it's one of the best ways to beat the LRSF)
so lets see
2 Brutes
2 Corrs
1 MM
2 Dominators
1 Stalker
This is a perfectly viable team and well balanced, but a team like this will have unnecessary difficulties with the Phalanx. That's my issue with the LRSF. -

Using the MA I take a level 1 character to level 50 in 3 hours
Good or bad?
Using the MA I create a mission that gives out 5000 tickets and only deals about 100 damage to a player Good or Bad?
That's the kind of stuff that's obvious. -

All of this are perfectly available team makeups. You're arguing that these teams should be able to complete these tasks without a single team wipe?

No I'm arguing that recurring team wipes as was mentioned by someone else as a strategy(Use insps, wail, wipe repeat) is horribly flawed and shouldn't be considered a viable way of succeeding. Team wipes can happen, they shouldn't be a constant though.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure how this relates to the things I've said in this thread. Generally when I build teams especially for Sf's in general I try to get at least 1 of each AT(excepting MM's as they make my compy cry.)

For me forethought has nothing to do with difficulty. My first Villain was a stalker, the times I'm on a team I'm always a step ahead and have my first target of a spawn picked out just as the team is finishing off the previous one. In the case of the LRSF I think the difficulty is too high because in my experience a balanced team can't always complete it. Note:4 corrs is not a balanced team to me.

I can't speak for the Devs, since they know their specific balancing, but I can tell you that a team that contained one of each AT could take down the LRSF with ease

Answer my two questions above.
Was the LRSF balanced for a Pentad when it was first released?
Is the LRSF balanced for a Pentad now that the Phalanx are level 53? -
Not being able to hit Mako isn't any different than not being able to hit a Paragon Protector that pop's Elude.
I personally don't feel that Ghost Widow's hold is balanced at all.
and in the same vein
Statesman being able to use Unstoppable permanently is balanced?
Positron being able to put your recharge into the negatives is balanced?
BABS handclap dealing 2000+ damage is balanced?
Manticore's autohit Teleport Arrow is balanced?
the Phalanx having a linked agro system is balanced? -
Considering that all other PvE content the Devs have made including the STF is balanced, I would say yes.

If the answer to either of those questions is no how can you believe that the LRSF is balanced at all? -
And then were going back into specialized team building
So it's either build to maximize success or expect team wipes?
Neither of these options are particularly good.

Ok on the 8 Stalkers thing we used shivans,nukes and stacking vengeance, honestly without those things we wouldn't have been able to do it. This was also before I9, so no IO's,and no Stalker re-balancing.
No one said 1 death each.
He said 1 Team Wipe very different thing.
And I agree with that statement if your expected to team wipe repeatedly than something is definitely wrong. -

A team of 8 Stalkers did beat it once before I9. Took about 5 hours and required stacking vengeance as well as shivans and nukes.
I understand challenge, I also understand difficult(heck I'm going to beat Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja difficulty)but I think the LRSF is incredibly unfair to most players of the game.
And What's worse is it has what I think is one of the worst Merit rewards of all TF/SF in the entire game. -
I thought Self Destruct applied Debt when used?
I seem to remember BABs ranting about once you activate self destruct you're dead with all the benefits and penalties associated with it. -
Do you have Gravitic and Well?
Because for me it was those two powers that made all the difference. -
Slows and knockdown are not problematic for Stalkers, the only problem is DoT. To which I say well look at Spines.
As to Ice Melee for Brutes, if I remember correctly it was actually the combination of Ice Melee/Armor and the Ice Melee on it's own wasn't overly problematic. -
Honestly I'd rather fight the Hordlings than the Spectrals.

Seeing as how the article is dated for the 18th and Posi's follow up was on the 7th I find this article lacking. -
I can see Resurrections being counted as heals.
After all they do bring you up form 0 HP to Full HP, suppl you that big green number and count towards the healing badges.
Of course this is all technical but then again technically My Dominator with Vengeance is a healer. -
It seems more likely to me that Tyrant thinks Praetorian Recluse is dead.
