I enjoyed the Michael Bay bug when it was around (ex. when rikti drones and council hoverbots would explode 12 times when defeated)
But my favorite was on test during DP Beta, which, since it was test, I don't know if it really counts, but each time I'd play my DP/Devices Blaster, instead of the animation for planting a trip mine or summoning seeker drones, He'd get REALLY excited and go into an endless spin costume change emote. Like, full wonder woman. I could even move around like that. Attacking or jumping stopped it, but I called it the "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Bug. -
Quote:People make mistakes, and the Devs are people, if a = b, then...it was worse that they released on thurs, most of the company was at some gaming con, patting themselves on the back, while we were subjected to crashes every few hours or less, lag, a invasion of overseers, and a new respec that had +4 lvl mobs, when we really had gimped ,bad toons.
Either way, I'm REALLY looking forward to DS, since we haven't had a new MM primary since Thugs, and I'm a MM at heart anyway. If we don't get it in April, yeah, I'll be disappointed, I'll probably participate in a DOOOOM thread, but ultimately, I'd want it to work before they release it, rather than let a big mess just slop itself all over our shoes. -
Quote:It's been historically half and half about Tuesdays, but it has been, more often than not, a Tuesday release of patches, issues, updates, etc.Since you appear to be asking the question seriously: Issue releases have historically tended to be on Tuesdays. Most likely this is because it leaves Monday to run any final checks and Wednesday-Friday to run around screaming and putting out any fires that result from the patch before the weekend.
Issue 2, IIRC, launched on a Thursday, which turned out to be a mistake they have never, ever repeated.
I suspect Tuesday is indeed chosen because Monday is spent taping back together what broke over the weekend, at least in my experience it is anyway.
YMMV
EDIT: On another post in this forum, someone broke down the days things were released outside of a Tuesday vs. uhm, inside a Tuesday. It came up 9 to 9. So chances are things'll happen on a Tuesday, but I don't have the fancy mathematics degree from the university of smartarse to tell you numbers. -

and if it is, feel free to lock it Mod08, but I couldn't find the info I seek, though I admit my search-fu is weak.
I haven't been on the forums in a while, and I heard through a friend that there was a theoretical minimum specs posted for GRs Ultra mode.
I mention this because I'm in the market for a new desktop, and I want to get something that will run Ultra mode without too much issue. If I have a list of stats at hand, life will be a bit easier for me.
Again, if this has been asked a billion times, I am sorry, but I've gotten good answers before, and hope to get another now.
Oh, also, in before discussion of mammals (yeah, I searched first). -
To the OP, I'm sorry that you've teamed with ***** MMs. I personally love the Mastermind AT, and I've restrained my kneejerk "raargh! He not like my AT!" reaction to put this post together.
A good MM player will adjust his/her playstyle, dependant on what they're doing. I have a Bots/FF (my first 50 btw) and he's a master of KB, both intentional and non. When I'm on a team, I hang back, keep the bots in BG mode and buff the hell out of my team mates. I'll pick off stragglers, but I know how much Knockback my boys do, so I try to keep it down. I've also been on teams where they love to see the scatter power of my Bots. It depends on the team really. If I'm in a Stalker/Brute heavy team, I'll hang back. If it's primarily ranged, I let fly.
Similar with my Thugs/SS, I can toss enemies all over the playing field, but, on a melee-centric team, I refrain from Tornado, Gale and Hurricane, because it just angers most Brutes.
Seriously, if you're ever on Justice, give me a tell, global is @Bitter Hatred. I'll show you how a mastermind should be played, then hopefully you won't have such an awful taste for them.
EDIT: Wow, ***** is a blocked word? Really? -
Quote:Before I start, know I'm not a numbers man, I don't have a perfect purpled out build, and YMMV, But, I'd drop Stunning Shot and replace it with Ranged. I'm all about a lot of damage fast, and Stunning does no damage at all right? Or maybe free it up for something from a pool.My highest level blaster just recently hit 49, and I'm going to respec her at 50, freeing up two picks from powers I hardly ever use. Can anyone give me any suggestions about great choices for the last two power picks?
I don't have a mids build all planned out, but in summary I will definitely be keeping all these powers...
Archery: All powers except Ranged Shot
Elec Manip: Electric Fence, Havoc Punch, Build Up, Thunder Strike, Shocking Grasp
Elec Mastery: Shocking Bolt, Charged Armour, Surge of Power
Flight: Hover and Fly
Fitness: Swift, Health and Stamina
Speed: Hasten
That leaves the following choices -
Archery: Ranged Shot
Elec Manip: Charged Brawl, Lightning Field, Lightning Clap, Power Sink
Elec Mastery: Static Discharge, EM Pulse
And the following pool powers I'm interested in -
Boxing and Tough
Maneuvers/Assault/or Tactics
Aid Other and Aid Self
Grant Invis and Invisibility
Does anyone have any ideas about what two I should choose?
I had Power Sink, and even after slotting it up I noticed it was "meh" for me. I've noticed that having Stamina well slotted should keep you in blue easily enough.
Basically my build is the same as yours, save for Super Speed as the travel, and swap Thunder Strike for Charged Brawl (I agree, charged brawl is wonderful, decently slotted), and the aforementioned Ranged Shot. Do as you will, but I've not found Power Sink all that effective. I'm also not a blapper by any stretch, so if your going that route, more power to you.
I just read back and realized I've given no real advice here. Oh well. Just glad I'm not the only arch/elec/elec out there. -
Quote:The Warhammer faction are called Necrons, and they are terrifying, and, yes, the most accurate way to describe them is "undead robots" which, admittedly, sounds stupid. But in action they are awesome.[ QUOTE ]

Undead robots???
[/ QUOTE ]
Undead, with laser bolts coming out of their eyes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Undead robots are stupid, to be sure (how can something that isn't technically alive be "undead", lol) but they've already been done before. I believe Warhammer has a faction that's undead robots.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of Katherine Kurtz's Adept novels included a WWII submarine that was animated by the same spell as it's undead crew, and Roger Zelazny wrote a short story with a vampire robot ( it sucked electricity ).
Sorry. Geekout over. -

I just might do that. No time at the moment though. Got real world stuff to do. So, looks like I stay logged in and inside the mission while I'm out. I am not going to run through this entire mission a second time. I absolutely hate kill all in Council Base missions. Those are the worst. Kill all in Council Base and click multiple glowies? Those are the worst too...
[/ QUOTE ]
That, yeah, nuke the mission! No more Kill Alls in :
Council Caves
Larger Orenbenga maps
Arachnos labs with that "power core" room that seems as tall as IP is long...
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I've only ever seen that power core room once, and that was on my Defeat Positron mission as my Thug/SS mastermind. I can see how that room would get annoying though.
And I fully agree with the Orangebagel comment. NO MORE KILL ALLS!
I will also take this chance to posit, NO MORE LAYER CAKE ROOMS! You know the ones I mean, that last, multi-layer room on cave maps. At least in lower levels, and for those without flight, its such a pain in the [censored]!
Okay, done ranting. You may now have your thread back.
EDIT: I'm sure it's been said before, but considering how many caves there seem to be under Paragon, you'd think the whole city would collapse in like the Hollows. Sorry, I just really don't like the cave maps. At least the Council caves and Snake caves have things in them, let them stand out some. -

Welcome to the Game!
So...what happened to the first 5 Illusions?

It's a dark tale! -
I'll have to try this on my Thugs/SS. My Bots/FF was levelled before the tankerminding craze, and as such isn't as unkillable as he should be.

I resisted using the teabag emote for a long time, until morbid curiosity finally overtook me. I laughed for a solid minute.
Also, I have to say, the hump emote thing was entertaining for roughly 0.68 seconds, then I wanted to smack whoever came up with it.
Although, it looked like Sands was enjoying it, so more power to him! -
I live not too far away from Providence myself, and yeah, I think Paragon could easily be Providence. Founders Falls seems like the area downtown near the Mall, just, expanded... kinda...
Kings Row is the "other side of the highway", aka, the bad side of town (which isn't really that bad honestly)
Independence Port could be the area down near Eddy St. and the Russian Naval Museum. Just needs more strip clubs.
Atlas Park is a far less Hilly version of Federal Hill, hell, even the city hall looks the same (my search-fu is weak, so you'll have to look it up yourself, sorry).
The Hollows, Striga, Dark Astoria and various other zones don't have a correlation I can think of. Croatoa feels like Newport to me, the down home aspect mostly.
Bricks and Boom sound a bit like Pawtucket and the other surrounding towns.
Aside from that, I don't really know. -

We cannot lose our enhancements once they're slotted, if we're defeated. Doesn't "loot" kind of work that way in other games? Where you are killed and other people can scrounge for what you had "on" you?
[/ QUOTE ]None of the ones that matter.
[/ QUOTE ]
except for you know Ultima Online which started the whole MMO thing
because that just didn't ~matter~ at all did it now
[/ QUOTE ]Ultima Online is not in the forefront of very many minds when they say "current MMOs".
So, no, Ultima Online doesn't matter in this instance, IMO. It was the first MMO (sort of), and its idiosyncrasies (and bad ideas) are due to that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it's not in the forefront of many people's minds, but EVE Online is kind of like this. If someone is feeling particularly nasty, they can completely negate the last two weeks worth of work (especially if you spaced out getting a new clone, and your ship insurance is lacking), but, I'm not Bitter... grumble grumble f'ing pirates grumble grumble
Oh, and OP, mentioning WoW on these boards is a good way to start a big flame war. I keep my opinions on that over-hyped pile of junk quiet (usually) but some others here aren't so nice. Just be careful. -

All MM train and upgrade powers last until the pet dies, and they are AOE so you only need to cast it once and it will affect all pets within 30 feet (or maybe it's yards) of the target pet.
So you only need to cast it when you resummon a pet.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it was 30 feet of you (the MM)? Maybe I heard wrong. Anyone with confirmation? -
I remember it took me near an hour to take out the Super Arachnoid at the end of Dobbs arc. It conned purple, and my bots just couldn't keep up with his regen. It was literally the only time I actually NEEDED to use a Shivan to even things out.

And thanks for noticing the reference in my avatar. Triple pop-culture reference for the win! (For those not in the know, the other two are the Rejected Cartoon Movie, and The Badger Badger Snake meme from weebl and bob) -
He'd have been reported immediately, right next to every Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Cyclops, Gambit, Spawn and especially IRON MAN, as well as any other hero you can think of...
I can't stand that people will do something like this. It reeks of a complete lack of creativity on their part.
Admittedly, I've made a couple characters like that, just to see if I could, but I never brought them past the costume creator. This guy will get genericed, deserve it, and probably pitch a fit over it.
I prefer to create my own intellectual properties. Let published characters inspire you, but don't copy them. You will be noticed, and if it's by me, you will be reported.
Just bugs me. -

Ohh, ohh! Can I be next?! I soloed Statesman on a petless mastermind and took him out in liek 3 seconds! hur hur hur.
Seriously, this part of the discussion is really just unnecessary. It's more of a "Which GM annoys you most" thread.
As for me, it's Scrapyard. I'll be wandering Sharkhead, minding my own business, not really watching my announcement window (yeah, I know, mistake, but bear with me), and then BLAM! Spooky Blue guy (who I can't look at anymore without thinking of Dr. Manhattan) grabs me, does horrible things to me, then flosses with my soul. Happened more than once.
I remember once watching Scrapyard and co. being pulled to the Arachnos drones by the ferry. The drones were all about taking out his little buddies, and Scrapyard swung at one of the drones and took it out. It was probably just a graphical glitch on my end (low end laptop at the time) but it looked so cool. I ran into the ferry after that. -
Okay, I may be out of the loop, I may be just arriving at something already concluded, I know this, and if I am, please be gentle about it, but, I just watched the Going Rogue video for the umpteenth time, and something hit me.
Ouroboros, however it's spelled, and the Menders are here to try to prevent the "Coming Storm" or some such, not sure exactly how it's phrased, now, Tyrant (or Emporer Cole, not sure if this is standard Praetorian earth since this Tyrant and that Tyrant look different. Could just be a new costume, I dunno) says to Maelstrom "Prepare for Assault"
Now, I've taken this to mean one of two possible things.
1.) Tyrant is going to invade our earth, and we're gonna be in trouble. This is likely the actual course of events.
or
2.) Maybe Tyrant is preparing for the assault on his own homeworld. By us. Something to maybe think about. Look at Statesman's eyes as he's just starting to turn towards the camera. That ain't right. I think something may be up with States.
So, if the truth is option 1., do you think this invasion is the Storm the menders talk about? A lot of Oro and Midnighter stuff focuses on Rikti, but lets not rule this out either.
And if the truth is some variation on 2.), well, first, I'll be super excited, and second, I will applaud, bow at the feet of and wash the car of the development team that would make us think of the true nature of good versus evil. To Praetorian Earth, are we really the good guys? Or are we their version of the Rikti, interdimensional nutbags who swoop in and try to beat up their emperor? Think about it.
This is what I do at 4:49 in the morning instead of sleep. Don't judge me! -

Based on the info implied in the infamous Market Survey it's pretty clear the Devs have been considering a "Spy" AT for Going Rogue which could prove to be some kind of epic sideswitching AT similar to Kheldians and/or the VEATs. Regardless of the details I think it's at least reasonable to be open to possibility that there -could- be some kind of new AT associated with Going Rogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll back this thought process and guess there's going to be at least one new Archetype that is "Neutral" at the start. It'd just make sense. It'd show off the spankin' new content.
I'll also sprinkle some speculation on this thread: the marketing survey also mentioned Character Creator 2.0 which could include power customization, right? Well, in the teaser trailer, Desdemona changes her fire ball from red to blue, which may symbolize swapping sides, but could hint at power customization since the current fire attacks in the game are primarily orange, not red or blue.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not holding my breath, but if such is the case, I may just asplode from pure unbridled joy should we get this feature.
Oh, and as for Spy powersets? 9mm pistol, butterfly knife, cigarette tin that lets them change shape.... what? It could work. But they need a french accent. -
[ QUOTE ]
Use your hurricane to corner herd. Once you have them relatively stuffed into a right angle, you can let loose with the tornado and it will just assist your hurricane/gale in keeping them all cornered and in the arsonist burn patches. Alternately you can pull around corners with snow storm. While you can't slot it for range with standard IO's, there are a few range/* set IO's which will increase it's range. Which makes it a safe herding tool AND a pvp nightmare.
Although it doesn't help specifically with tornado; slotting the Ragnarok knockdown proc and one of the slow sets can help to keep peeps on the storm patch so that it's easier to herd them into corners.
[/ QUOTE ]
What they said. Hurricane, properly slotted, can be your friend.
