I've yet to have a character cost me over 1 billion influence to IO out, though there were a few ("full purple" builds with 5x LOTG procs) that have come very close. Blueside though, Redside market is a bit wacko.
Sticking up a bid for the recipes and farming the salvage while you wait tends to work out cheapest. At present going for level 50 missions (for extra recipes and the chance of a purple drop) using Ouroboros arcs (for merits and the end-of-mission bonuses - "chance for a recipe"/"chance for salvage" dayjob buffs) seems to be best.

So the 4 purple damage sets for a scrapper would set you back roughly how much? Just looking to do it on my Claw/WP and currently have 1.2 bil in the back -
Who ever told you how damage caps worked was correct.
With regards to combat stats I have no idea though, I could well end up monitoring everything at this rate -

Spine/Fire can compete with Fire/Kin for speed. Have seen it, but my spine/fire isn't there yet and I'm not that used to it. It goes squish faster than my Spine/Inv which I normally use myself when I need a bit of extra inf -
I think Shout myself, I don't like nukes on Defenders really, cause there's time you have to spend recovering end where you could be doing something. Also over time you'll use Shout much more
Steamy Mist and Snowstorm don't take that much retoggling but it's sudden vulnerability for those seconds -

Your last point is a method I like to be used on me when I'm bruting, I love it when corruptors bring me more SMASH victims, fury fuel and bodies to walk over, its also good for the team. I have not found anyone heroside to use this though, only on villains. I tried to explain it to a tank on heroes once when I was playing my defender but hit a brick wall too early on to pursue it

Acrobatics is about it, could use Karma or Steadfast Protection IOs in other powers to increase that number

Like I said earlier I just don't like the mentality that every spawn and mission should be done by the Tank Herding to a corner whilest everyone else waits about.
I do love a Tank who will take Alphas, manage aggro, can do short pulls or will herd when the situation calls for it. A really good tank will change how he tanks rather than sticking religiously to a single playstyle (which is what a lot of herders tend to do).

My DM/SR has less than 180% acc but still kills AVs. I think Siphon Life is the only power with that level of acc, the others are still around 165% IIRC

I stay on Grey unless I'm looking when I change to Green. I will change my message regularly though, because its often easier.
If my message says I'm "just soloing" and I get a tell from someone on my global (who could have sent without searching) I will always respond. If I'm busy and my comment says "I'm just soloing" then I will return the favour and ignore the tell. If I hadn't reset my status when I get the tell, I will say I'm busy, then change my comment to "Just soloing". If I get a tell and I'm not busy, I will say "Sorry, but as my comment says, just soloing" I've leant to type that very fast.
Changing to red it annoying because it stays red when you log back in (or used to) and then I have to remember to change back. But if not teamed I can always see my search comment cause of how I have my windows -
Endurance for AV fights, definite soft cap for AV fights allowing you to carry other insps, giving you some space for oranges, greens and reds

Ice is good for Blapping because it has control, and fast attacks. Elec is similar but misses the short range high damage blast
