EXALTED-UNITED and VIPvP are currently set to silence new people on entry, so look on the friends list for that channel for someone with a star and send them a tell to be un-silenced, or send a tell to @SCyberTaz. He's a regular pest but can make that white box go away. All these channels are active and their MOD's/OP's haven't left the game for another MMO. If your channel would like to hold events or get large leagues going, hit us up and we'll cross-promote.

Because they're not <Insert preferred adjective here> enough to come out with a table top RPG system. Or license the publishing rights to a SJG's GURPS World-book or a d20 System stand-alone book.

It's also because CCG's were the cherry flavored Crack Cocaine of the juvenile recreational gaming industry. If mommy or daddy didn't have enough for a NES/SNES or Sega MS/Genesis or even the Turbo Grafx, they could send junior off to the comic / game / baseball card store for a pack of something called Magic. Sometimes we'd run a sale, a deck and a booster for $10, or 4 boosters for $10, or even cobble a C/U 60 card deck for $5 to get them hooked.

Eventually the parents would come across what their kids were doing with their "don't bother me money." Parents would either support the hobby, not understand it, not care, or get bent out of shape over it. They would drag their crying kid in to the store and "demand" we buy their cards back. Of course once opened the depreciation sets in and card quality would count. 5 cents a common, 25 cents an uncommon and 50 cents a rare was a blind bid to buy the cards and the parents would jump. Lil Billy knew his Rares were "Boss" but he was already in enough trouble. Cards were bought, sorted, put in binders or file boxes and then the vultures would linger.

The moral is that some people are hooked to the Super Packs, others are not, others are causal players and will throw extra points at them. I only truly feel sorry for the OCD players who won't stop til all their character are ATOX'd out, have the costume pieces and that Black Wolf Pet!

My next post will be more Nihilistic and detail Physical Ownership and Gambling...

  10. You can also type /chanjoin Champion Redside and or /chanjoin Champions United a lot of redsiders hang there and there are active VG's there as well. Send an in-game tell to @SCyberTaz with your global and we'll point you to the right direction either in channel or tells.

  11. On the plus side, if you've already unlocked the Shoulders, Backpack and Rifle you have .52% chance of any Very Rare being the Black Wolf Pet as opposed to the .33%. Of course going by the card shuffling and allotment you'll only get a VR card dealt in your pack 79% of the time.

So getting the wolf has anywhere between .41% and .26% chance of dropping everytime you open a Super Pack. Now with luck like that you should be able to hit that exaust port or find a Black Lotus in no time at all...

  13. Why are Reward Merits even in the Super Packs, can't we already just earn those just by playing the game? C/U/R/V cards, I remember that from some dark place in my past...

Suddenly I am having flashbacks to almost 20 years ago when West Coast Drug Pushers released Cardboard / Cardstock Crack as a new addiction that rapidly addicted many of pencil and paper basement players. Quick, I'm having flashbacks, someone get me my CCG "methadone"! Someone slip me a pack of Bicycle playing cards still in the cellophane. Ohhh Yeahh, that's the stuff, cut my deck, fan the cards, and give me a sniff. But please, someone stop me before I start cutting myself with them.

Players with OCD beware, that is all...
  14. The villain ritual to resurrect the Red Widow. ::SPOILER ALERT!!::

Read and listen to what Virgil Tarikoss has to tell you about using the Obol's, even with the Amber Widow and Dying Breath, you may not have the entirety of the ritual and may have to improvise at a certain point. When performing the ritual, watch Charon, he'll give hints of you're doing it wrong, you can click the red dot to close the window and restart without botching the ritual.

Stop reading to prevent mild spoiler! The following is a vague hint at what you need to do to complete the ritual.

Who do you need to summon to the realm of the dead, and what summons him, and how many are crossing over?
Who is he supposed to take over, and how should you let him know this?
Who are you trying to find?
How are you going to get back?
What are you supposed to use last?

    Complete ritual for dummies:

    Use one Obol,
Start improvising, cut yourself and bleed in to the circle,
Place the Amber Widow in to the circle,
Place the last two obol in to the circle,
    Uncork the Dying Breath.
  15. Taz here with a short guide to the reason for the season, the Spring Fling. Here is what you need to do and who to do it to:

To unlock the Valentine Tips you have to complete the second mission from your faction contact. (Scratch or Ganymede) If you previously earned Beautiful or Handsome you only need to do your side's second mission, otherwise you'll still have to help out the goodie or baddy who helped you with your second mission. (But sharing is friendship and nice all around.)

They will then tell you to talk to DJ Zero. He details how to deliver the valentines to the heroes, villains and NPC's and how to mis-deliver them.

Valentines drop like tips, sometimes they're slow to drop or drop faster if you've increased your team size or difficulty to increase your drop-rate.

You can have a maximum of 3 Valentine tips at one time, they drop even if you're full of any leftover Halloween tips, The Mortimer Kal unlock tip, 3 alignment tips and a morality tip in your Tips tab.

Open the tip, it'll either tell you who it's from or by cryptic, have the message and a choice at the bottom.

The first choice is who it is supposed to go to, & you need to deliver 7 valentines for the Match Maker badge.

The second choice is for those mischievous souls out there to mis-deliver the valentine. You need to do 7 of these for the Missed Connection badge.

The valentines will send you all over Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, and Praetoria. Straight Hero or Villain character who are unable to reach the destination that the accepted tip gives you can dismiss the tip and try for a better alignment compatible one.
Praetorians won't be able to go to Paragon or Rogue Isles
Villains won't be able to go to Paragon, or enter the Resistance base
Heroes won't be able to go to Rogue Isles or enter the Loyalist base.
Vigilantes and Rogues can deliver the most valentines and can enter the Loyalist / Resistance bases, but won't be able to use the Loyalist / Resistance Underground access, they'll have to take the long way from the other Underground access points.
and as usual Vigilantes and Rogues won't be able to deliver to anything to Fort Trident or The Crucible.

See where the valentine is going before you dismiss a contact outright, a lot of them are Board Transit, and can still be done by any faction.

The only one who gets badge credit for the valentine is the mission holder and I haven't checked to see if a Hero team mate of compatible alignment can finish the valentine to Fort Trident while you as a Vigilante or Rogue hang out in Atlas Park (Will update when tested)

  18. Due to the Super Eggball Championship Bowl, I may be late in setting up / starting the Rikti Mother Ship Raid at 8:45PM / 9:00PM Eastern. If I'm not home by then please feel free to start one up for the server.

(But seriously how does being a channel mod on 3 of the largest Exalted channels make me a Mafia Don?)
  19. So, the Roman Pack comes with a new Bow, and unlocks all the Cimeroran unlockable pieces from the Centurion badge and the Romulus 5 defeats, including the shields. But no Axes, or the Romulus / Nictus Swords? Maybe in the future throw them up on the market and the Rikti Blasters and other items that are broke or unlockable from the Watchman / Watchwoman badge.
  20. Tags Sep, you're it... Terrorist boss and his pet hemorrhoid are screwing with my work schedule so I won't try to run Rikti Mother Ship Raids on Champion anymore. If someone wants to do it, please post here and / or send me a tell to @SCyberTaz and I'll put it in the BMT of Champion, Champion Redside, and Champion Trials MotD's.

Also lower the shard TF's to 4 to start, maybe finally get Dr Q. split in to two like they did to Positron's TF. But hey, if it's not broke, wait a while and it may be...
  22. Due to work schedule and obligations on the other server, I won't be able to run Rikti Mother Ship Raids earlier than 10PM on Sundays, which is pretty much a fail. So, if anyone else would like to step up and lead them earlier on Sunday nights please do so, otherwise the only MRS's I'll be running are Wednesday nights at 9PM Eastern with them forming at 8:45PME.
