Ahhh, the whole publish or perish dilemma... Fan-boy grew up reading comix, then realized that those who can't "do", they teach. As per the factual basis of his l33tnezz, feh. If a bunch of red's want you face-planted, you'd stay face-planted. Playing on a dead server at 4AM or during other people's work/school time doesn't lend credibility to the pwnage of the game... Entitled educators and the self perception of their grandeur doesn't really cut it if you have to actually work for a living. Who does he think he is, Lord Stryker?

Since when do kids need a reason to eat bacon? Unless of course it's that turkey bacon, or <shudders in terror> Soy Bacon... Why are we encouraging kids to eat bacon if they don't want it anyways? Moar dyes and chemicals for kids, yes! Anyone remember when one type of red food coloring was thought to cause cancer, people who know how food coloring and dyes are derived from plants and animals (including insect carapaces) would just rather eat normal bacon instead of pooping the rainbow. Yes, food coloring and dyes are not absorbed by the body so anyone who's heard Larry the Cable guy's "Poop Lasanga" jokes, eaten a whole box of Boo Berry™, or saturated their systems with kool-aid or grape Slurpees©. You can almost hear it now from the bathroom, "Look mommy, I poo'd a smurf..."

My mistake, it was Emil who said it after firing the Cobra Assault Cannon in Robocop...

Quote:Taz spinning blindly and blissfully that someone would quote him, slams into the wall of "out-of-the-box obsolesence"so, i found my laptop on the website, organized the updates on what i needed....
and they haven't had updates to the drivers for my model of computer since september of 2006....
so what now? is there anywhere else i could find drivers that would work?
Taz staggers backwards, checking the skies for anvils and boulders. Being that your laptop is 3-4 years old and probably not under warranty, you still have some options:
1: Check windows update to see if it has any drivers in it's "Hardware, optional" section
2: Contact Toshiba's legacy tech support
3: Go to the place of purchase
4: Go to a local computer shop (unless it has ACME in the name)
5: If you know the gfx chipset in the laptop try that manufacturer's website (ati, nvidia)
6: Search the interwebz for forums about your specific make and model
and always try:
7: Fill out a CoX support ticket listing your
Model
O/S
gfxchipset if known
(try to bribe them with, punch and pie or bacon, never cake (it lies))
Options 2,3, & especially 4 may cost you some coinage (bench fee's byte)
If the drivers you downloaded enable you to get to the sign-in screen exit and restart the game in "Safe-Mode" (watch out for dental drills), log in and start slowly adjusting your settings upward. If you have an ati chipset turn off water effects, ati (like Taz) hates water. If there is a reccomended setting on the gfx slider, start there or just below that setting. If it locks up, restart the game in safe mode again and aim lower.
That is all Taz can suggest other than telling you to offer any tech savvy friends or their parents sugary foodstuffs.
Taz goes back to raging at the Sky Dev's so they can part the waves of frustration blocking access to WW's and the BM... -
Quote:Depending on the age of your laptop, go to the manufacturer of the Laptop's website, look on the back for your serial # and or model #. Use this information to look and see if they have any driver downloads for your specific system. The manufacturer's website might also tell you what exact gfx card you have in your system, or you can get that information from the device manager from the System options in your Control Panel.ok, so i'm gonna come clean....
i don't really know very much about computers, just the basics and what my brothers have told me. i looked up the drivers things, but i have no idea what to download-- i went on the ati website, and downloaded the driver, but it didn't work.
yes. i'm retarded with computers.
The Computer is threatening Taz to upgrade it, Taz must obey, he doesn't want to end up as a pair of smoking boots... -
People also forget to check their hard drive space, Taz is not sure if UM stores all of a zone or instanced mission's gfx items in the Virtual Memory, but freeing up HDD space made most of the problems with graphical lag go away, and the shiny happy mouse cursors don't have errors anymore with IO enhancements or salvage showing up on the hand or arrow. Taz's contacts would also have test pattern or unrendered backrounds when he was running low on VMM as well. His display does sometimes flash when moving windows or slotting enhancements, and he has noticed that the tailor interface for a costume slot is half blue and half red. If you're playing red you shouldn't be blue, unless you want to play purple or other shades of grey in July...

Quote:Taz stares at the babysitter for a longer period of time that is good for him and mutters to himself:The television is showing what looks like a horribly dubbed western. There's at least 5 seconds between when you see someone's mouth form a sound and when you hear it.
Two of the cowboys are having a very serious conversation. After what seems like an eternity, you finally hear: "I would be extremely interested to know what the third party applications are that are causing this problem."
"Please let me know if you figure out what programs are causing the input delay in CoV. Most of the time people's problems stem from not playing enough red side, but any problem that actually keeps you from playing red side drives me crazy."
... people with older systems should check task manager as well to see what else is running in their backround ... fresh virus scans are good as well ... msconfig, yes check there for any pesky startup applications you are unaware of ... search their names on the internet to see if they're malware or spyware ...
Taz shakes his head and stares at The Babysitter again ... the Television is wise, but talking TV is unwise unless you dare to be stupid. TV's talking directly to you mean that the fnords are whispering again and it's time to buy more foil hats. The Television is great, but The Computer is Perfect, Hail The Computer! Yes, moar redside for Taz, especially in July when blue can become grey and have a "talk" with The Babysitter. Maybe The Computer will visit the isles and tell us to be like Ernie "Chip" Douglas and "Kill The Babysitter". But Eris wouldn't like that and she influences all in the discordian dystopia that is the Rogue Isles.
Taz checks The Computer and corrects the suggested items in this thread and spins happily away... -
With the advent of dual builds, why not just let the freespec's stack, offer 2 per issue, or make the TVspecs/Treespecs repeatable. A lvl 50 Trial that is repeatable would be nice, for those instances where an EPP or PPP choice gets freem'd or both builds are changed.
But:
An email to the account holder, a pop up GMotD, or a note on the loader would be the best. Some of us prefer to play rather than read, but I am enjoying the Dexter novels...
Fnord happens... -
Nope, not unlockable, but the Vanguard Shield version of her is available. I am looking for a version I can recolor / change outfits and powers to suit the arc.

This was the first MA mission I ran solo. Seeing it on BMT of Champion and Champion MA global channels I gave it a run. With the mission description signifying a Defeat All, I was surprised that at the end of the map with the lovely room full of freaky tanks, one shot could end the mission. Sprinting thru on my 50 blapper HARDKORE Mk. 0 on the lowly Heroic setting, the placed groups fell under the radiant blueberry barrages. He reached the final room and looked for the boss, after acquiring the target the boss was one-shotted with a BU+Aim Snipe shot. Enter the mission complete music and the magical Exit button appeared. This was before the whambush of freaks appeared. With a swift blaster backpedal and a timely FoN the ambushes went down. For the sheer "bendover" factor of the mission I rated it a 3 for lack of depth and detail. It is no longer listed but for a lack of squishy blapper faceplanting I was amazed that 700 skee ball tickets were in my salvage. Quick, dirty, and fun, but it was made for John Boys.

In an effort to be accurate with my MA arc Land of ConFusionette I would like to know if anyone higher up has a save file of her Faultline appearance and scales and color codes. I know this is a little A/R but a costume / character creator save file of her would be nice for use in the MA system. Lacking that, a list of height / body / facial scales, and hair / skin color would be greatly appreciated.
