That is called a challenge, by the by.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah, a challenge doesn't have to involve claiming your the best. This is goading in the hope someone will go 'oh yeah! I'll show you!' -
[ QUOTE ]
I hereby proclaim the paragon defenders the best PvPers on Defiant.
Its up to you to prove me wrong, and untill its proven I will continue to say it.
You can challange us in the arena. We do all sizes.
You can challange us to a base raid.
You can challange us every way you would like, and we will show up.
Send a tell to @Xanthus, @Mesmer or @Extremus, or PM them on these boards (names are the same -@), if you want to prove me wrong.

Thats what I love about PvPer, so many modest players. -
What is the min level for that TF? I'd like to bring Dreamstone (earth/empath comtroller) along but she's only level 28 at the moment.
-
Sorry to everyone that was there, after I restarted my computer the updater won't run for CoH. So no idea when/if I'll be able to get back in.
Edit: and at that it works...... -
If anyone else drops out I'd be intrested in coming along as Dreamstone level 24 (should be by saterday) earth empathy controller.

My advice was just for those people who are upset because they view Defiant as a bad community; whether it's true or not, the only real thing that matters is someone's opinion. If the OP is so very upset about what he believes to be true, to the point of cancelling an account, then all effort should be directed towards trying to get him to believe otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apologies i actually misread what u said earlier.(is all Greek to me etc..)
[/ QUOTE ]
If it is all greek to you shouldn't you be fully fluent at reading it? -
Another thing to consider, are 'cliques' in the community a bad thing? Not all playstyles or attitudes work well together and trying to make them doesn't do anyone any good.
The best example I can think of is back on the SWG server I used to play on. The roleplay community on that server was very big and had some huge splits in it where people on either side were not going to get on well and you had people in the middle trying to make them because they were all roleplayers so in their minds they had to get on well. That always just lead to the dislikes and arguments flaring up again and causeing the people in the middle the most grief.
If they had just accepted that and people stayed with the groups they liked or moved between both if they didn't have a problem with either then alot of hassel and arguments would have been saved and the two sides might have been able to be politier to each other making for a nicer overall community. IMO at least -
The way it was redesigned and the way SoE treat their customers I can't see it lasting much longer.
-
I haven't seen any SGs like that in CoHs either. I do remember one in SWG that had a yearly fee to be a member off

Whats wrong teaming exclusively with your SG? In the end everyone tries to get around bunch of people who share similiar intrests, humour etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is nothing wrong with prefering to group with your SG, a few people have pointed out good reasons for that. Saying you will only group with your SG and/or friends is a step towards being a clique but isn't bad in of itself.
The bad part of a clique and what makes it earn the name over just being a group of friends is where your completely dismissive and rude towards people that aren't a member of the clique. Saying you will only group with friends or your SG can sound dismissive of others and be why people can jump to the conclusion that your being rude where you aren't. -

As with Generalissimo_2 I spend most of my time now solo or more often than not teaming only with my SG friends.

That could be one of the cliques Lode mentioned !

I very much doubt that PHEP figures very large on anyone's list of cliques (or even anyone's list of supergroups) on Defiant
[/ QUOTE ]
I just find it funny that part of his complaint was about cliques and a few responces are 'you should just group with a small number of friends, that is what I do!'. -

I should probably cl;ear up one quote that is beiong misunderstood and missused. Now thats not anyones fault. Its me I left a word out being the [censored] I am. When I say I have pointeout cliques on these forums I mean. I have posted on the forums about INGAME cliques. Thats my error entirely.

Ooooh ok!! sorries there but you know being Greek and all doesnt gimme the best comprehension at times

I have eluded to people before on these forums becoming increasingly cliquey. And I rather wanted to see evidence of the contrary. Fact is its getting worse. Unless you are in one of these cliques. And Im not the only one to notice. If I were Id ut it down to paranoia or backstabbing at my expense and on the latter it still may well be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here is where i start to disagree at some point.First of all cliques within a forum is kinda hard to form up especially when the forum relies on debate and presenting arguements to what you have to say regarding the issues raised. As far as within the game goes depends what you call cliques. As you notice most people posting here they clearly state that they stick with SG avoid pugs and generally stick where they feel comfortable with. This can be called clique. You have to remember that the more you know a certain group of people and more time you spend with them the more bonded you get and this is how human nature is.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen lots of message boards form cliques where new posters just won't get much or any responce from the regulars or where every thread that does get responces is just the same people talking or joking with each other.
I haven't seen this here and have found the board the board very helpfull when I've posted asking questions. The one exception being the suggestions part of the board where people can be pretty rude if it is a suggestion that has come up alot in the past. -

I have people on my global friends list I havent talked to in weeks. Why? Because they havent bothered to talk to me. I dont mean the ocasional friend you just dont get around to talking to. We all do that. I mean the people who have put me on global friends and see my chat on two public channels. Most noteably Evo chat and coaltion.
It came clear to me that I was the one intiatiting chat.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't talk about the community as I'm relativitly new and I don't take part in any community events but I'm one of those people that doesn't talk to my global friends list very often. I log on, say hi on coalition and hi to one or two of my friends list I do talk to more often (not all I say hi to are global friends odly) and then start soloing, joining a team if I get an invite. I don't mean anything cliquey by it cause I'm not talking to that many people and I'm not forming teams so I'm not ignoring people on my friends list while doing that.

I'm looking to get the badge from the nightstar mission if anyone gets it and doesn't mind inviting 'War Dancer' a scrapper along for it. Thanks.

@WarDancer
If you want a panic button, Elude is a lot better then Whirlwind in my oppinion, unless it's in your character preference, I'd leave Whirlwind to much much later
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I alreay have, I've changed the build I posted here alot and I wouldn't consider whirlwind a panic botton either. I took elude at 38th and put whirlwind off into the 40s. -
Hey my build is back up on the first page again! I ended up making a few changes to that. I took practiced brawler at 10th because as everyone has said it is that good and moved quickness which is a great power into it's spot and I really didn't like crippling axe kicks annimation so traded it out. I put whirlwind off untill the 40s elude at 38th, it's a great panic botton power. I even just worked stealth in to stack with superspeed
I'm not sure what I'm taking at 47th and 50th now though. Focused Accuracy at 47th maybe with 3 end reducers but I'm wondering how bad that will be to my endurance. -
Fair enough, doesn't seem like a good day for turnout to me but then I'v never organised big events or little ones!
-
As a side point, why were mondays choosen for a big raid like this?
-
I've been having little difficulty with solo missions at the highest diffiulty as a MA/SR scrapper with very little downtime.
