Quote:True, I didnt think about the DPS of katana, im used to the burst damage of BSword, but either way GC doesnt benefit from the entire Hecatomb set as a whole as much as SD would since it has a much faster recharge than SD.Actually only a small part of IH's healing is enhanceable so it's not really worth the healing slots. I usually slot it with 3 striaght recharge IOs. Also, Hecatomb is better in GC since it is used twice as often as SD.
Also I'm curious, since you never actually stated it, but is this build for pvp or pve? I had assumed it was for pvp -
Well Soaring Dragon does more damage than Gamblers Cut even w/o Hecatomb, so i would put it in SD not GC.
And I would definately give more slots to IH take a few slots away from anything and at least give it 2 rech, 2 heals. The way you have it slotted almost isnt worth the power pick i would drop it for BU rather than keep it like that.
Other than that all looks good!

Quote:Thanks for clearing that up for me, and in this case FH has the highest heal enhancement which is where these two procs are now headedThe Regen Tissue proc (as well as the Numina / Miracle procs) will pretty much always be active in PvP if they're slotted in a passive or toggle. Every 10s when either are active (toggle/passive) the proc refreshes the duration to 120s.
While purely defensive toggles like Integration suppress when held, the only way for it to cause the proc to fall off is to be held for two minutes straight (the proc duration). Otherwise, even a split second of activity would allow a tick through to reset the duration to 120s. Considering there is hold/cc suppression this is impossible.
I'd place it in the power that has the highest heal enhancement, since that enhances the proc's +regen value. -
Sounds cool to me, and I like the idea of a branching powerset

Quote:Actually, I realized I was just haveing a brain fart last night about how Regen procs were affected by Heal IOsI don't see the advantage of putting the procs into Integration instead of FH.
However, I would swap the Reg.Tissue IOs in Health for Miracle:Heal and a Miracle:Heal/*
This would increase your regen rate, your recovery rate and your max hit points.. Srry bout that. It will work best slotted in FH. For some reason I thought the actual power it is slotted in will increase the regen of the proc but it's only the IOs you have slotted in it.
But i meant to have Triage in Health instead of the Reg. Tissues because they have a +Regen set bonus. Miracles wouldnt help becuase Health is already at the ED cap and i dont need anymore recov
Thanks all for your replies while my brain was malfunctioning XD -
I know for a fact that a well IOd, that doesnt include purples, stone/therm is very powerful in pvp. Seen several and they were very tough to beat.
-
I think mainly because it would cover nearly every type of debuff, that being, damage, to hit, defense, and resitance. No other MM debuff set can do that and it would become the best set you can pick for MMs and it would be fire/kin trollers or fire/psy doms all over again.
Plust it has a good fast recharging PBAoE heal with a bigger AoE than /Dark, along with a speed and recharge buff in AM.
Not saying it shouldn't be brought to MMs, I would gladly welcome it, but at this point it would just be to good for MMs IMO. -
Well if i were to be mezzed it would stay active for 120 seconds but would it be suppressed even in that 120 seconds that it has left?

Hey all, I have a BSword/Regen scrap on Freedom who pvp's in Warburg, some of you may know Sword of the Angels.
Anyways if you've looked at my build you know that I attempted to max out my regen and squeeze every little bit possible that i can.
So my question to you is to get my little extra boost in regen, do you think it is wise of me to put the regen tissue and numina in Integration or is it to risky and I should just keep it in Fast Healing?
Thnx for all your help!
Heres the build if you need to see it.

Quote:I could get behind this. Will also help with any other mez holes that nearly all the sets have such as Fear and Confuse, for those pesty succubiStand Fast
Like Domination or Fury, this becomes a new inherent for Tankers that increases the more that the Tanker attacks or gets attacked (probably will raise and lower more along the speed of Domination though, instead of Fury). When activated, this increases the Tankers protection and resistance against Mez effects (useful in certain situations), and also increases their Regen and Recovery.
Now, why Regen and Recovery? Well, Regen helps both Def-based and Resistance-based sets relatively equally, in my eyes. It might help Resistance-based sets a little more, since they tend to give the Tanker more time to heal, but with Defense, you should have more time to heal between each hit. Recovery, because Tanker DPE is pretty bad, so this could help there. There are a few scenarios out there where Mez effects can break through even the Tanker mez protection powers (Ghost Widow, going up against a lot of stunning foes, etc.), so putting a moderate increase to the Tanker for Mez protection and resistance could help out as well. -
I think that your "Critical Resistance" idea might not work to well or effectively. Because if your already at the resistance cap for a certain damage type then while your soloing if you happen to be fighting mobs that use that type of damage, the new gauntlet won't be aiding you at all.
I can't think of any resistance based set that doesnt reach the cap for some damage type except maybe WP? So you still wouldnt benefit all the time from this new gauntlet.
Edit: Only resistance sets that dont reach a cap with 3 Resistance IOs per armor is Dark Armor and WP, Dark Armor gets close to reaching psionic cap however; Ice Armor, a defensive set, even reaches a resistance cap for cold. -
Srry to hear about that, I had a great Aunt who recently passed from cancer to.
Lymphoma and breast.
I know how you feel pal.... -
I'll be there on my scrap =)

Just gotta learn to use it responsibly. KB can be the most effective form of mitigation just keep in mind to use nearby walls and corners, if you can control the KB enough to group all the enemies tightly up against a wall/corner you will be one of the biggest helps on your team hands down.

NO! I got a lvl 50 Hold IO! Way more valuable trade me!

Quote:Very well put, I strongly agree with you. Up until i16 all I did was pvp, but with the new stuff out I got distracted leveling up new characters and IO'ing them out that i havent even pvp'ed in a while. You are exactly right that people need to loosen up when it comes to pvp and not take it as seriously as they do. It's good to be proud of your builds and of your accomplishments in pvp, but just remember that its all a game and is just for fun!An anecdote for the pro-PvPers (including the OP) reading to consider (Note that this in by far NOT the only time I've encountered something like this. just keeping it to one for brevity's sake (HA!) ):
A few months ago, I gathered up three of my mostly RP PvE friends to take some of our characters into the Pocket D arena. At the time, we all were PvP novices. When it was just the four of us, going at it cluelessly, using the buff period in matches to broadcast in character quips, we had a blast.
About 30 minutes later, a PvP vet asked us if he could join our fun. Via tells, I made it VERY clear we were all newbs, were playing somewhat in character and were just messing around for fun. The response was something along the lines of "that's cool. I can live with that." Soon after, before the first match even starts, this person then says in team chat, "Hey a good friend of mine just logged on! Mind if he joins? More the merrier!" Being good natured RPing PvErs, we all say sure.
After one quick five minute free for all, the two quickly say "Hey how about we try you four against us two?" They then proceeded to farm us for kills for about 10-15 minutes. At several junctures, we suggested reformation of teams, 3 v 3 separating those two. No avail. Soon after, we all quit in frustration. After that I was hit with about a dozen tells from both the PvP vets with advice on how to pick apart and rebuild my character to be a GOOD PvP build. When I replied saying I wasn't interested I was then told I can either stay clueless or I can learn to PvP the right way if I wanted to have fun.
Since then, NONE of these other folks have shown ANY interest in PvP, even in our closed session between friends.
So what is the takeaway here?
If the PvP community TRULY wants to enroll more of the player base in PvP they REALLY need to learn a serious degree of sportsmanship. What does this mean?- Show some restraint. No matter how tempting it is for recipe rolls, NEVER repeatedly trounce newbs. When you play checkers with your five year old niece/nephew, you don't beat them 8 times over and then lecture them that you are doing this for their own good so they will someday learn the lifesaving mad skillz of competitive checkering. Same goes for PvP. It's just not THAT important to most of us and insisting that it be so only makes hardcore PvPers look out of touch as they suck the fun out of the situation.
- Keep the smugness and smack talk in check. Just look at all the posts already in this thread that say that the "broadcast PvP" is one of the main reasons people avoid PvP. In many sports, if you say anything near what is commonly said in broadcast, you get a warning, quickly followed by penalties, and in most pro- and recreational situations--suspensions. WHY should PvP be any different? Just because SOME people say they have skin thick enough for that sort of verbal abuse should ANYONE who is mildly interested in the activity have to tolerate it? Until any in game PvP community learns to police it's own, this will remain a huge hurdle to wider appeal.
- Split up the stars. So two vets could trounce four newbs. So what? Why were they so resistant to being split up? Because they KNOW each other's strategies so well? Because they are afraid of losing? Because they were in the same room or on vent together? Because being vets they knew that their Dom and Scrapper were a good combo for an uber PvP duo? I dunno really. But this was NOT the first time I've encountered such resistance from PvP vets being split up from their Uberness. In other PvP situations--sports again--folks are readily willing to split up and even out teams to keep everyone involved at the local ball court. Tell me why are veteran PvPers so afraid of leveling playing fields?
- Which brings me to the next thing: Cool the competitiveness. Losing ALL THE TIME isn't cool. Winning ALL THE TIME isn't cool. Not everyone plays to win. In PvP and in many other arenas in life. If you aren't in a hardcore session with hardcore players, recognize that others may simply be there for the "fun factor" and that doesn't always mean fighting the toughest nail biting battles.
- Please keep in mind many of us will not go and rebuild our characters simply so they PvP better. With that in mind, be willing to hold back, play on a non PvP build, etc etc. And be a bit more reserved with the unsolicited advice that may make you feel like an expert regarding builds and strategies. Ever been in an athletic situation, from ballroom dance to ultimate frisbee to touch football, where one person just HAS TO coach everyone else that isn't as good as them? When you guys lecture people via tells, you come off as one of those jerks. Those lessons tend to just embarrass and alienate newcomers. So unless there is a request for advice or a structured lesson, show some reserve on the tips. It's one thing if you are on the same team and showing leadership--but singling out via tells advising rebuilds, enhancements, etc. is a bit much.
Anyways, to the OP good luck with your efforts. And commendations braving the not-so PvP friendly waters of the general forum. -
I would like to see an archetype like this as well but of course like you and the others said, the defensive values and damage values would need to be drastically changed.
I can only imagine how OPd a Granite Armor with Fire Blast or a more AoE oriented set would be! -
-
Quote:Wow........... you have to be kidding me lol
The interwebz is a strange and scary place sometimes -
I like this idea you have come up with and I have thought about something like this myself, but the others are right Damage Protection would be overpowered.
I would still like to see some changes like this of course they will just need a little bit of tweaking. -
1.) There is some good in having extra KB protection but when your playing a melee character your secondary usually already has KB protection and the IOs become unneccessary
2.)The KB protection would be on at all times wether you are using the power or not
3.)Yes they would stack to mag 8 KB protection
Edit: Ok my answers didnt match your questions in number but you get what i mean -
Quote:Thanks for that.No No keep answering questions your in the right in my opinion. Ironblade should not have said that. Sounded really bad on his part. Thanks for the help btw.
The way i see it if someone is wrong, just correct them and move on, no need to call anyone out, unless their intentions were in the wrong place of course.
