Quote:This. While this was aimed at a specific poster, the general parts should be shown (using force if necessary in some cases) to everyone. Plus QFT for the bold part.Go into your UserCP, go to Edit Options, the second item there is your Reputation. Just uncheck it.
This is most likely why people keep giving you bad rep. You are simply whining and complaining instead of looking to see how to do even the simplest thing.
We keep telling you to look at the FAQ but instead, you just keep asking about how to do things that are laid out simply there.
You keep asking about other items, and you are given step by step instructions on how to do that, most of it involving the UserCP and the Edit Options page. Have you bothered to look at anything there except for what you were being explicitly given instructions on how to do? Apparently not.
There have been posts all over this thread, the Discussion thread, in the Technical Issues and Bugs thread, and likely in several other places on how to do much of the extremely simple things you keep whining about, but YOU aren't making the effort to learn anything, you just keep whining and wanting it spoonfed to you.
You don't like the front page of the forums? Fine. Click the + on the same line as English. This will show all of the forum section headings. If this is the view you want, bookmark it. If not, and you want to see the individual forum names, much like the old forums front page, simply click on the word English. This will show the Forum Section headings and the individual forum names, just like the old forums did. If this is the view you want, bookmark it.
If you want to see things using the Favorite Forums view that the other forum software had, well, you can't get it exactly, but you can get pretty close. You can follow the instructions in the guide here to get a pretty close approximation to that old view.
The reason you apparently hate these new forums is because you apparently refuse to put any effort into learning anything about them, and want everything handed to you on a silver platter.
As for me? I'm done with spoonfeeding you. I've given enough instructions to you that if you had taken the time to look at the other settings that you HAD to have seen were on the page as you scrolled past them, even if you didn't bother to look to see what they were then, you could have gone back and looked at them AFTER setting what you wanted.
But that would have been a bit too much effort apparently. It's much easier to come in here whining and ranting and using foul language that has to be filtered by the forum software.
If you put forth NO effort, you will get NO return. It's that way in everything I've encountered in life. At least, anything worth doing. -
What's up Doc? English and an MxO refugee. I believe that fits the requirements of the OP!

Rep function is pointless imo, should be disabled.

Lol, you really think they would change back to the old buggy forums just because some people can't find their way around? Change is a part of life, it won't take long to get used to the new setup.

Quote:Never had a problem with graphic sigs, a lot neater and less boring than text sigs and allows for expression. As for naughty things, quicker to see and remove an image than check all the text links in signatures for inappropriate content. Modern multimedia world, get over it.My views on the matter exactly. Why anyone allows for images in signatures in forums these days is beyond all logic, considering the bandwidth it gobbles up, the added moderation effort required so... naughty things are kept out and sheer ugliness factor added to said forums.

At least that large image isn't the giant smiley of doom, now that's large

It's temporary. Also, no you can't change your handle manually, a board mod will have to do it.

/e wonders when the EU and US distinction will die down (probably with the elimination of the extraneous EU&US tags)
This is teh interwebz, no borders, boundaries, no passport required, it's all 1's and 0's. Jack in. -
I absolutely agree with nothing the OP said.
New Forums, get over it.
On a side note:

Whilst I couldn't care less if my password is different here than the game or not (You may find that it's not an uncommon practice) but (oh thank you for wysiwyg text boxes, italics, bold and underline and variations thereof is a lot easier on these forums) changing it should be looked into for added security and players piece of mind.

Honestly it's really what I'm used to from other MMO's. I was a bit surprised when I first found out about the segregation of the Servers let alone Euro and US forums. Hopefully this is a first step toward a server list merge.
Well I can only hope.
Cheers for the welcome! -
Well, I got the correct name, Graphic sigs and a bunch of inflated opinions. Time to get started..

Uh.. that's not quite exclusive to America, a lot of Europeans don't like Marmite either. I however, do and I like Jammy Dodgers.. although.. not together.

^ What they all said, basically.

I'm going to be away for the next 4 or so months but this offer has me keeping my subscription up so for me it's a good offer. Also, you see anyone with the new badge and you know they're a GR beta person.

Lol, finally made my way to the lounge, been posting all over the place in between making new signatures!

Quote:Why?! We're not all timid, personally I've been poking my head in everywhere stating my (strong at times) opinions. But this section is a pretty good place to converse with other players from EU servers without a large majority of Americans (apart from those who play EU side) flooding the threads.Hi
Try and bear with us tho... Imagine us EU forumites are kittens and we're just coming out of our nice, cozy warm safe EU cardboard box for the first time. We might venture out slowly and cautiously at first and dash back in the first sign somebody even comes close to contemplating about merely speculating about saying boo in the general region of a goose (or us) before legging it back into our nice coze eu box again.
This could be all prevented by merging server lists, having them seperated into US and EU servers is stupid, imo. If a player wants to risk lag by playing away from home, let them. -
It's funny, there's a lot of arguing against graphic sigs because of the potential abuse, but as of yet I've not seen any major issues with huge sigs or inappropriate images. I don't see why people can't bite their tongue and wait til it actually happens and then report the user rather than try to deny a feature which allows freedom of expression straight from the word go.
