    Badge Questions

    [ QUOTE ]
Since you said you'd listen to suggestions for improvement:
I have a problem with badges being awarded to only the team that does the most damage to the monster, or any other competitive scheme, because it favors AT's that do damage over many support AT's.

To be specific, my tank had to fight the Kraken 4 times before he got the badge for defeating the Kraken. Part of this is bad luck, but much of it is due to the fact that what I add to a team, that is "Aggro control" I am effectively adding to any other team that is competing with me for the badge. Effectivelty, I am a liability to a team as a member because if there were a team with me and 7 blasters and another team of 8 blasters, the team with 8 blasters would be doing more damage and would still benefit from my "tanking" for them, because the Kraken's aggro would be focused on me.

So, please consider changing the system to have everyone on a team that does damage awarded the badge.

Kill Count badges (of which the Giant Monster badges are, just with a Kill Count of 1) require you/your team do 25% of the entity's HP in damage in order to get credit. So in theory 4 teams could all get credit (much more likely that 3 teams will get credit).

In your scenario of Tanker + 7 blasters vs. 8 blasters, I have to assume that both teams would get the badge, since both teams are going to contribute over 25% damage to the entity.

That is still highly unfair for Giant Monsters. I have helped defeat many, many monsters but never get a badge (for the most part) because I am usually solo or on a small team.

If it's just a friend and I on one team and 2 teams of 8 fighting a monster, we never get the badge because we simply cannot do enough damage. This is especially unfair to the support classes (controllers and dominators) who do very little damage.

Why can't the Giant Monsters work like Hamidon? Everyone who gets even on hit on Hamidon gets a Hamidon Enhancement. Why can't everyone who gets in at least one hit get the monster badge?
  2. Has anyone had problems with the Silver Mantis TF? We did it and the team was all killed when the end boss (Duvay I think) came out and killed us all (team wipe). We went to the hospital and when we returned he had despawned and we could not get him to respawn since alll defenses had been taken down.

How can you see how much Bounty you have and where the heck can you redeem it?
  4. I only recieved 6 as well. Ghost Widow was missing. I went back to GameStop to exchange it and they said that several people had called and come back with the same problem. It appears that none of the ones shipped to their store were complete. I know they weren't tampered with because I was there when they were delivered and I had to wait while they went through the boxes to find CoV.

It's good to know they are aware of this and are going to make things right.

Still confused about one point: if (for example) you've got a three person team, each person on the team is 400' away from each other person, and person X defeats a bad guy -- does person X get "solo XP" or XP for being on a 3 person team?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He'd get XP with the 3 person team multiplier...BUT that XP would still be divided appropriately between each teammate. The others, however, wouldn't receive their shares.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Woah.

That seems unfair. I would think the person would get xp as if he was solo in that situation. If the other team mates are not in range to get xp then they are not in range to help the hero. In other words, that hero, for all intents and purposes, is solo.

This actually discourages teaming in a way. If I'm out of range of my team mates I would be better off dropping from the team before taking out the mobs.

If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Easy answer to this one. Even if fly could (if 6 slotted) reach the same speed as super speed you would still have the vast majority taking super speed because they want Hasten. Hasten is pretty much a must-have power for a lot of builds. Unless someone wants to waste 2 power pools, if they want Hasten they will take Super Speed.

Remove Hasten from the speed pool, make it inheirent and replace it in the speed pool with something else (maybe a defensive power like Dart (doding things quickly)) and then you might have reason to think people would take Fly over SS if the speeds were similar.
