I'm also weird because I love Moxie.
[/ QUOTE ]
You must go to the festival then, heh. -
Speaking of soda/pop/[insert name here] has anyone ever tried Moxie?
That is the most vile carbonated drink on this planet LOL. I was in Maine and they actually had a whole Moxie Festival going on. It was like drinking medicine. -

For toon, I can maybe, possibly see where if you stretch it, it could seem childish, but I can't fathom where shallow comes in?
[/ QUOTE ]
Y'know, like, 2-dimensional? Flat? Literally without depth?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, the other definition. I thought you were talking about the personality trait, not a pool of water. I guess yes, being on a screen, they are flat and 2-dimensional. I'll give you that.
I figured you meant the definition: lacking depth; superficial: a mind that is not narrow but shallow. Because that one would make no sense in this context to a normal mind. -
I have to agree with the "who cares" statement.
If someone else calling an animated pixelated character on a screen a 'toon' bothers someone enough that they need to vocalize it in the game or treat someone else in the game differently because of it then they have bigger issues than can ever be resolved on this forum. -

Yep. Mob for a single baddie and mobs for a group.

Honestly, I use 'toon', 'char', 'character', etc. pretty much interchangably. Why does anyone care so much?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah - I've never understood why there is so much debate call them whatever ya want...........I think I'll just start call chartoonters, or toonacters, or maybe just feags. Does it really matter.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've never understood why someone would post, "I don't know what the big deal is" when an entire thread exists preceding their post that explains why.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe they don't understand the why that was given?
Every criminal in a mental institute has a "why" for what they did. It sure as heck doesn't mean people are going to understand or validate that reason. -

Take anime for example. It has developed it's own language and culture. Why not just adopt the word "cartoon" or "japaneese cartoon" instead of anime? Because the word cartoon simply doesn't fit.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, and action figures aren't dolls ::rollseyes::
Anime is just a name someone came up with so they didn't feel so stupid about watching cartoons. A cartoon is a cartoon is a cartoon no matter what you want to call it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Seriously, guys, that's why they're called pet peeves. There's nothing wrong with calling 'em toons, but until I see you pull out a gigantic mallet, a portable hole or a humorous anvil, it's going to make my brain itch whenever you do.
[/ QUOTE ]
So Space Ghost, Speed Racer, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Teen Titans, X-Men and other CARTOON characters are not toons? -
I use toon or alt because it's a lot faster to type than character.
-
Maybe MMs are excluded because people are afraid the pets will over aggro the heroes?

PvP zones are now a daycare for all of the old spammers, killstealers, and other 9-12 yr old malcontents who used to only be able to anger people in the chat box, but now can ruin someones day much easier and faster by genking them without the worry of the Ignore button. IMHO
[/ QUOTE ]
You made water come out my nose. That was priceless and eerily accurate in many (but not all) cases, heh. -

is it their fault though? I think not. The SF's design doesn't favor Stalkers since they're just pure damage. But ya know what? I've had three successful RSF runs and we had one stalker in two of the three time. Masterminds and Doms can't get a invite? that's a load of [censored], same thing for other Brute types.
I find your "fact" not only flawed, but stupid.
My first successful RSF team consisted of...
3 Brutes - 2 Stone, 1 Fire
2 Masterminds - 1 Dark, 1 Bubbles
2 Corruptors - none were /Rad or /Kin from what I remember
1 Dominator - believe she was Ice
the other stone brute, the dominator and one of the corruptors were people that completed the SF successfuly and knew what to do about pulling.
[/ QUOTE ]
If that was indeed true then we would see everyone being invited to do the RSF instead of just Stone Brutes and Corruptors with the occassional pity slot for a friend. It stretches the imagination beyond all reasonable belief that the team you list above could do it currently. -
You can try to say there are uses for them on the RSF.
That doesn't change the FACT that they can't get an invite to one to save their lives. -

This may have been covered already, but any idea when the Hero side version of the LR TF will be implemented instead of the Hami hunt? I8 maybe?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a feature of I9
[/ QUOTE ]
That would place this somewhere around the 3rd anniversary of the game launching, correct? -
Yeah, I think scheduling did us in on the villain side. I had to drop because of work hours and I know everyone else was having problems as well.

He did mention there was a team wipe and some fights were impossible without redcuing the difficulty. That sounds something like a challenge.
[/ QUOTE ]
Problem is ... that only happened twice in 37 levels.

OC, how are you going to get your debt badges? -

[ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't the ability to drop missions make it easy for people to skip the ones they don't want?
[/ QUOTE ]
Why would this be considered a negative?
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. I got a "Hunt 20 Archanoids" mission in Grandville last night. I hate hunt missions. I ended up dying during the course of it so got double the debt from what I would have on an indoor mission.
As soon as they add that feature I will skip every single hunt mission. -
[ QUOTE ]
Teleport reticle and Patron-granted Respecs are two I should have mentioned, but since our guys have already fixed those internally here, they fell off my list. Sorry.
As for players who think they will just be albe to drop every mission they get to PL off a contact... think again; we're crazy. Not that crazy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Could someone really Power Level off of that? I mean, sure, you would get the story arc completion bonuses but if you add up all of the story arc completion reward experience for every single contact in the game would it even add up to half a bubble's worth of experience from 49 to 50? -

Why does my hero have a badge with a placeholder that says:
Control the future by helping fight Longbow in Recluse's Victory
Is this the Recluse 5 hr badge or what?
[/ QUOTE ]
Were you confused in battle? I know you can get the Longbow badge as a hero if you kill Longbow while being confused by a villain. -
[ QUOTE ]
The way it SHOULD work is that if a npc kills you, you take proportionate debt with what damage the npc did to you. But if a player kills you, no debt.

You dont' NEED all the badges in the game
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't need to have PvP in the game either. -
[ QUOTE ]
Don't like the way PvP in CoH is set up? Don't come in.
Don't want the debt? Don't come in.
Don't think you should be targetted without some sort of rules to meet your maker? Don't come in.
Don't understand basic concepts? Don't come in.
Can't read the WARNING at the entrance or understand the WARNING given by the Security Office? Don't come in. Or if you do, don't come on here cryin' about "unfairness" or "unsportmanship playing" or "TPing you into a mess of NPC's is nasty". You got busted up, annihilated, a** whacked bright blood orange red... suck it up, write down the nasty buggers name who did it to you, go lvl up some, then challenge that player to a one-on-one. Jeesh...
[/ QUOTE ]
If no one goes in then they stop coding PvP content because every stops using it.
They need to make PvP more appealing for people, not less appealing. Half the time the PvP zones are ghost towns. Please, make some changes that encourage and reward players for taking the time to play and explore those zones, don't make changes that drive the casual player away. -

Cuppa's been trying, but she has yet to be able to convince the devs to throw us a bone.

IF we were to ever add a way to get Isolator post-Tutorial, it would most likely be incredibly hard to get. Annoyingly hard. Irritatingly hard. There-would-be-a-zillion-people-asking-to-make-it-easier hard.
But IF we were to add it, it would be available nonetheless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm. How about if you complete the Quarterfield Task Force in FBZ you get credit for 1 contaminated thug?
Hard like that or a easier? -

Why can't everyone who gets in at least one hit get the monster badge?
[/ QUOTE ]
Risk vs. reward. Krakens badge is a desirable badge because hes very rare to find, even though he spawns in a lowbie zone. HOs are desirable because of their bonuses and because theyre extremely tough to get. A group of controllers could allow HUNDREDS of players of level 7+ to get the badge with zero risk to them by chain-mezzing Kraken. Thus, the badge is no longer very difficult to get. Would just cause the same pandemonium that happens when Hamis held (Everybody hit him once NOW!!!!), but without any risk to the lowbies.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not true at all. You misunderstand the way Giant Monsters work. They always con purple and are even level to each person. If a level 50 and a level 1 are both fighting the same Giant Monster together, it will be level 50 to the 50 and level 1 to the 1. The risk versus reward is equal.
Again, a team of 8 controllers versus a team of 8 scrappers of equal level all fighting a single giant monster. The scrappers are going to probably do 80-90% of the damage even though the controllers did an equal amount of work. The controllers get nothing and the scrappers get everything. They both took the same risk (actually, the controllers took a bigger risk because they are squishy) yet only the scrappers get rewarded.
