Solo farming has just become SO much easier! Thank you!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very true. Maybe there will be less broadcasting for fillers now. They can just farm all the missions in a TF without needing fillers each time they clear a map.

We know that finding out about this change after the patch is already live is not the ideal way to go about it. It was never our intent to “hide” or “stealth” this change out, it was simply lost in the volume of other changes spanning many months.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Odd how it's always the nerfs that "accidentally" get left out of the patch notes but the things that the devs see as things the players will like always make it in every time.

so devs im sorry if i over looked this but i cant find any where that tells us if the patch yall have been talking about on the test is going live before double xp weekend?

    [/ QUOTE ]

We've been trying to geta straight answer about this since the day it came out. sigh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I seriously doubt they would even consider moving it live before Double XP weekend. It's going to be a serious xp boost as it is without doubling it.

I see them using the double xp weekend as a way to get people to reactivate accounts. After the weekend people will drop back to regular xp but will continue to play since they paid for the whole month. Then, before the month is up they'll put the new xp live which will be enough to entice some of the returning players to stay.

    You aren't a true gamer.

Any true gamer would know you don't use toilet paper. You just put on a Depends at the beginning of the weekend so you never have to leave your chair.

    Exelent timing.
Boyfriend whom I met in game is visiting that weekend.
What a gift of double XP he is bringing with him.
    LOL.

    *love*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ouch. Actually, wouldn't that be bad timing? I'd rather be able to spend time *with* my boyfriend without the game rather than playing the game like we normally would do.

This will continue through the weekend and conclude the night of Sunday, February 10th.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please define 'night' used in the referenced quote.

    6:00 PM EST?

12:00 AM EST (Actually Monday morning)

When the server resets on Monday Morning?

    8:13 MST?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe that past double xp weekends have ended with the server reset on Monday AM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They usually run from Friday at noon (EST) to Sunday at noon (EST).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, all the past ones have ended with the Monday morning server maintenance, not Sunday.

Time to book a day off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My thoughts exactly. I think I'm going to schedule the Monday after off and then only work a half day the Friday it starts.

I'll probably miss the first hour or two and be good to go for the rest of the weekend.

(Snip)# 4 would be my least favorite because it would eliminate any experience from the equation. If everyone auto-exemps to the highest level of the TF then the lower level players would get no experience. (Snip)

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I also prefer#3. #4 will not prevent lowbies from getting xp. Anymore than they can not get it in a PvP zone currently. It would auto SK/Xmp to the correct level. Doing whichever was appropriate, same as Bloody Bay makes everyone level 25.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, didn't know that. I'm not a big PvP fan and my excursions into those zones have always been with my level 50's exemping down.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

    2. Make the TF mob levels spawn according to team average and reputation setting.

    3. Make the TF work on the Rikti Invasion code.

    4. Auto adjust the TF participants levels using PvP code.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aren't these points mutually exclusive (not nessesarily a problem for suggestions)? I'm also of the impression that TF's do use reputation of the leader, or is this suggestion to use the average reputation?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm hoping they consider # 3.

    # 2 would be bad for some people since if there were more lower level players than higher level, the mobs could con too low allowing the higher level player to just blow everything away.

    # 4 would be my least favorite because it would eliminate any experience from the equation. If everyone auto-exemps to the highest level of the TF then the lower level players would get no experience.

    # 3 would be my choice because everyone could get experience from every TF and still have it be a challenge. The mobs would con even (or higher based on reputation) at the individual level. Every can be rewarded with experience since a level 25 would be fighting level "25" mobs and a level 45 would be fighting level "45" mobs all in the same TF.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
That's fine. I'll qualify the position above a little further. If you haven't logged in in 2 years, the chances are very low that you will ever come back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Low doesn't mean you won't. I went back to try out The Sims Online over 3 years after quitting it. They sent me a 14 day free restart to see all the changes. I figured since it was only $9.95 a month it might be a nice break from time to time. My account was still there but my 3 alts were all gone along with all their property.

My thought was, "Meh" as I logged back in to recancel my account before I could be billed.

The tiny smidge of hard drive space to keep the data would have cost them pennies. At $9.95 I probably would have stayed for a long time for occassional visits. Not saving what I previously had instantly trumped any new content that may have had.

I realize with CoH it's only a name, not the whole character, but the point is, people do come back to MMOs and taking something away from them might be the difference between regaining them as a customer and losing them for good.

No matter how many "trials" The Sims Online gives me in the future, I will never play it again because I don't want to start from scratch.

Note: I know some of you will think, OMG! The Sims Online! How lame.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I cannot believe that people are suggesting that active accounts have names transfered to "unreserved" status. Ever. For any reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can believe it. Some people don't have the ability to use their imagination. "i r gut teh gud name idea! Then they find out the "gud" name isn't available. After they get done crying about it they whine some and add a dot or slashes or some other odd character to the name to get the one they want. They don't want to put the thought into alternate names.

If someone has an active account (that is, they are currently paying), those names are theirs. That's the way it works, should work, and if they want to keep paying customers, will always work.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Okay, time to ask an incredibly stupid question. I had a name for one of my characters, then stopped playing for about a year due to various reasons. Came back, and had to get a new name. If this frees up my old name (assuming it does), how would I go get it back?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You would purchase a rename token, or credit and apply it to your account. When you do this you may then try to capture the name you lost supposing it is available.

    Ex

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why do you have to purchase the rename token before finding out if the name is available?

If I paid $10 because I wanted to change my name to Dorkfish and then found it was taken and I didn't want any other name other than Dorkfish or my original, why am I being charged $10 when I make no change?

Instead everytime I see that quote I wonder, "Would we have a Flashback System, if it had been started on TWO YEARS ago when I first read the idea?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Fair enough. And if they had started it 2 years ago and it got implemented, what wouldn't we have that we currently have? Remember, devs are a finite resource. So is time. Taking a year of development time for a team of devs to create and implement Flashback would mean that same team of devs, over the course of that year, wouldn't have been working on half of the new content we have received over the last 2 years.

I don't see it as something for nothing.

The whole intention of Pool B rewards is a reward us for a chunk of time played. What are Vet Rewards if not that ?

Besides, I assume the rewards at 50 would be nice and the ones at lvl 1 would be pretty cheesy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If they want a reward based on time played, they should work like badges. You earn certain badges after spending X amount of time doing something. Perhaps award Pool B drops at certain hour increments. Maybe 1 drop for every 20 hours spent on an alt. Someone who takes their time leveling and doesn't power level will receive more drops over the course of their alt than someone who zooms to 50 and then only rarely uses the alt again.

Absolutely correct, Korith, except for a few exceptions

    1) the 50s who don't care
    2) the 50's who will refuse to "dirty their play style" with PLing
    3) the 50s who actually want level 20-30 sets (but they can just stop the PL early)
    4) the people who don't have an extra slot on their server, and refuse to open a second account

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You missed one:
    5) the people who don't have an extra slot on their server, and can't afford to pay for a second account. I'm guessing there are a lot more in the # 5 category than the # 4 category. If they could get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. account while still only paying a total of $15 a month I don't think there would be as many complaints.

A better solution would be to always give a new slot for each 50 on a server. This would mean each player would always have 8 or 12 (depending on if they have 1 or both games) slots available to characters who can be leveled.

Question: Currently, cashing in 6000 bounty in Siren's Call produces the same option menu as completing a story arc. Is there any chance we could have Siren's bounty as an alternative for Pool B recipes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not a PvPer. I've tried it and I can have a tank or brute and a squishy will kill me, lol.

That said, I wouldn't mind this as long as it was an alternative method to get type B. That is, it was only one of the ways of receiving a type B so that people who had no desire to PvP could still get them.

Make it a route, not a roadblock.

The Eden Trial hero Side has been completed in 10 Minutes with an Optimal Team (No, Im not kidding my Server had a Race and they burned the entire TF in 10 Minutes).

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL. The only way I can even imagine that would be possible is if everyone on the team already had Ambrosia inspirations in their trays.

Getting enough Ambrosia drops, if no one has them, takes more than 10 minutes, heh.

A few rads debuffing the walls, monsters and Titan and, yeah, if you already have the inspirations, I can see it in 10 minutes.

I know you want Arcs to be special, but the big xp bonus at the end is already pretty special. Maybe Pool B should be "Mission Completion" rather than "Arc Completion," with drop rates adjusted accordingly as a result of greater eligibility?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's an excellent idea. I second it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If they did this I would hope they would exclude Newspaper/Police Scanner missions. That way it would be a reward for doing actual contact missions (which are in abundant supply forever as long as you team with others) but not reward people for ninja-completing the cherry picked missions from the papers/scanners.

Or, if they really want them more limited than that, instead of all regular contact missions...<pausing to put on personal force field>....perhaps make them have a chance of dropping for doing a mission in a PvP zone. Those PvP zone missions already drop rare salvage. Just give them a chance to drop either salvage or a recipe.

This wouldn't force anyone into PvP, it would just give them a little bit of risk getting to the mission and back (if they can't do it in 30 seconds) for the greater reward it would provide.
