With Poses, what helps me best is mimicking them myself. If the pose is off even a little you'll feel it, and better yet you'll feel exactly "where" it's off.

The Right Arm is good! lovely Rendition of an Overhead Smash. You may want to round off the shoulder muscle though.

The main thing that's off when I assume that pose, My left hand. It feels unnatural in that position. I'd suggest taking it back in more of a "V" formation. Cause that's what feels right to me if I was extending my right downwards, twistin my hip into the motion, my left hand wants to move back and up into a gaurding position.

I can draw it better than explain it, here.

Oh, and your not gonna find most of these at your local "Wal-Mart" or "Crafts" store.

Find an Art store in your area and scope it out. Don't be afraid to ask questions cause that's what they're there for.

For paper uses I use Strathmore Bristol (Vellum) or Daler Rowney Acrylic pads.

For Pens I use Pigma Microns.

Pencils you'll want to find what suits your hand first. You can't draw right if it doesn't feel/weigh right. In sizing tho, I suggest getting both a .7 and .5 mechanical(drafting) pencil.

Here's one thing I suggest too. Get a Brush so you can brush away all the eraser leavings without smudging your picture.

Which leaves erasers... Go for Kneaded and Magic Rub, these won't leave that nasty irremovable pink streaks you get with "#2's".

Hrmm, Sorry bout that.

I went barebones/frame on ya.

Here's what I meant.

Don't change the back. It's perfect.

The only things that need tweaking are his shoulder pads and his back flap.

Rotate/Roll the left shoulder pad away from us.

Rotate/Roll the right shoulder pad towards us.

That'll covey a better sense of motion and "free" it up.

The backflap looks odd. It should be centered and even with back. Just move it to the right a little and add some sway(like the cape). That'll make it look like he's twisting his hips to center his aim.

Oof-ah! It's good to take showers and wear clean clothes... right?

Yeh, the pacing is off at the end and I can extend the beginning to add more character development.

Anywho, I think somebody asked what style it was gonna be(TA I think), well I'm gonna shoot for a "Blade of the Immortal" type style. With it's sketchy lines adding to the action and drama instead of just coming off as "busy".

Here's some design sketches cause I'm gonna take a day off after that 2 day panel fest.

It's nice pose with good foundation. I didn't deviate much from your drawing at all.

Hrmmm.... It seems sorta short and ham fisted at the end right?... ergh.

Gonna try to tighten this up and proceed to ACT II.
