    Many nice costumes here.

My former main (now renamed and respeced for RP reasons) had a classic style that I liked. I've always prefered the golden and silver age looks above more modern leather-and-armour styles.

    Was that GoodGuy?!
When the hell did you get back???
  2. Jay waved his hands in a cancelling gesture, and then gently removed her earmuffs. "We got 'bout a minute'a quiet, " he said, his voice sounding strange against the deadened background noise, "ah set up my Disruption Arrow ta play out a negative recordin' o'th' van's soundtrack. Th' soundwaves're cancellin' each other out."

He grinned, handing the earmuffs back. "Wanna help me trash this thing before th' power on my arrow runs out?"
  3. The start of the white noise has caused several traffic accidents in the area of the Jimmy Carter Baseball Park, and people were running from the area as The Crimson Archer approached. It was clear now that the vehicle had been fully customised to be nothing but a giant noise machine. It was getting harder to think the closer he got to the source of the noise, but Jay reckoned he was in range now and drew on his bow, aiming the heavily tipped arrow high.

The arrow arched steeply through the air, before travelling back down to the ground and embedding itself in the tarmac in front of the van. Immediately the cannister-like arrowhead began to transmit its own sonic payload and the white noise from the van's many speakers seemed to falter and then decrease, lowering to an acceptable level.

Jay nodded to himself and vaulted the wall surrounding the car park, jogging up to the white van. He caught sight of The Amber Banshee entering the same area, her eyes covered by large ear-defenders. Pulling the IPod ear buds out, jay nodded to her, "Howdy Saff," he called towards the tall red head with a grin on his face. "Ya noticed we got ourselves a present, huh?," he said, his voice sounding oddly flat and muted.
  4. ((I'd still like to do a couple of reps, just to finish things off from character reactions and stuff, if that's cool?!))

The ear buds from Jay's IPod were enough to dampen the sound to a still painful, but less debilitating level, and he dragged himself to his feet. Flicking his hood back into place he set off at a run towards the car park and the white van.

Somersaulting from the rooftop, The Crimson Archer landed briefly on a telephone cable, used his momentum and the rebound from the cable to vault forward onto a high wall and sprinted on, the noise from the van getting loader as he approached.
  5. Walking along the King's Row rooftops, his boots crunching on the areas of loose gravel, Jay Reynolds, the hero known as The Crimson Archer, chewed on the remains of a hot dog and sighed happily to himself. It had been a good day so far, not one of his busiest or most challenging, but satisfying. He wiped some ketchup from his mouth with the back of his glove as he reached the roof edge, then stopped.

From here he could make out the Jimmy Carter Baseball Park, underneath which was housed The Militia's base, The Dug-out, but there were no games on today and the car park should have stood empty. Yet, there was a white van parked there, it's side doors open like an invitation for thieves. Jay frowned, and turned back the cuff of his glove to access the comms unit he wore on his wrist.

He was about to send a message to the monitor room in The Dug-out when he caught the tail end of the pirate transmission on the miniature screen. The unmistakable Dr Mechano threw his arms back and gave a manaical laugh, "LET THE GAMES BEGIN!"

Suddenly the noise started. White noise so loud that the only reaction was to clamp your hands to your ears and fall to your knees. Which is exactly what Jay did...
  6. Be hopeful. I'm a recovering depressive myself (I don't think there's such a thing as a cured depressive) and I know that feeling of emotional void all too well. Seeing a doctor is a good first step.

If you want to talk about stuff, feel free to drop me a line off board (halforc80 <at> hotmail.com).

    Whatever you decide, good luck.
    Paul.
  7. "It's twelve o'clock on Friday November 27th. Welcome to PNN news, with me, Richard Hall."

    "And me, Maggie Fletcher."

"The breaking story this hour, an explosion has rocked the downtown area of Kings Row. Details are sketchy at the moment, but initial reports are suggesting that the Eric Mitchell Memorial building, home to both The Hyperion Watchmen and The Militia groups has been severely damaged. Maggie?"

"Thanks Richard. Emergency crews are currently on the scene, and we're hoping to have the first pictures from the location soon, but several casualties have already been confirmed and we know that neighbouring buildings have been caught in the blast. Whether this was an accident, a terrorist attack or some form of metahuman incident has yet to be confirmed. You can be sure that we'll bring you more information as we get it. Richard?"

"Thanks Maggie. Meanwhile in other news..."

((The events leading up to and including this explosion in King's Row can be followed on The Militia forum in the various RP threads titled "Resurrection"! ))

Thanks also to our regular caterer , who arrived with cake and party hats on Sunday to help celebrate Jason's birthday.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're welcome, mate! I thought it went down rather well consider it got dropped on the way into the event. I think I got away with it saying "Hapli Bifhqay" in smooshed icing instead of the proper salutation.
  9. Ahhh.. that was YOUR pic!

I was watching Jas draw and colour this, which took him an absolute age cos I kept changing and tweaking it until he was happy. I think it took him over an hour all told!

Love the colours, and as Delph says, Great Pic!
  10. Hey there Doubletake, welcome to the forums and the game!

Also: any more news about NC's involvement this year GR?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    News post later today .

Ms Liberty will be there Sunday, and we'll have Draw the World Together all weekend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What's the word about NCSoft and DtWT's involvement for the future, GR?

Oh carppity carppity carp. I forgot about this. Have no money to go

    [/ QUOTE ]

Who needs money, just come for the funnies, ya lightweight!

And bring that bird of yours with ya!
  13. Despite all the negativity, can I say that the recent excitement has encouraged me to want to come back and tidy up/update my Wikipages a bit. Thanks for that everyone!
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Well at least I won't have to face the security guard that walked in on me while I was changing again. So I suppose that's a positive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Secretly you enjoyed it, you old tart!

But yes, it does make the memories of that first OS meet all the more precious now...
  15. Well folks, looks like any earlier talk about whether next years CoX/NCSoft Gamers Convention would go ahead is now a moot point.

As of today Omega Sektor in Birmingham closed its doors for the last time...

    RIP Omega Sektor.
  16. Good show there, Z! Sounds like a grand adventure to me, so I'll speak to my social secretary and get my zeppalin inflated and fueled ready for the journey!
  17. I've been absent for a while, and have just checked the boards after getting the heads up by text.

    This is unreal...

After the effort which the Brighton team have put in on creating a community, this just sucks. Did NCSoft really put so much in the Tabula Rasa basket that it not meeting expect projections causes this kind of impact?

A really sad day. RJ, Aero, and everyone else I've met and befriended from the Brighton office, I'm think of you guys.

    Empathy/Sonic... Currently 23. Concept/RP build... doesn't get teams.
  20. Dammit!! I was at a loose end last night wondering what to do with myself, and completely for got this was on!!

I'll try and drag Jay along at some stage, so long as the whiskey is flowing.
  21. Saw this last night, and was very impressed then!
  22. Yeah, do it!!
I love searching the web to find other peoples'galleries of costumes, so another new one is good in my book.

You going to be judging these, Hates, or will you let browsers rate them for elevation to the mythical "Hall of Fame"?

    Archery Blaster

    [ QUOTE ]
Isn't the redraw a royal pain with an Archery/Mind blaster though?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure there was a Dev post in recent months (probably on the US forums) saying that any effect of redraw was a player myth. The redraw animation play time, IIRC, is factored to not affect activation times for powers. So, redraw, while looking like it makes activation times longer, actually has no effect at all.

Maybe some one with better search-fu than me can track this post down?
  24. Atomic Racer - Rad/Rad Def Superspeedster
Electron Racer - Elec/Elect Blast Superspeedster

Royal Lion - Originally a british themed broadsword scrapper
Spitfire Ace - Another British theme! Fire blaster with flight
(Hmmm... come to think of it these might be a nice start for a British themed SG...)
  25. I agree with you Gilmore. Considering the amount of demand from players for this type of extra content, it would be stupid of the Devs to pass up the opportunity to use it to raise additional revenue (ala the Wedding Pack).

Players then have the choice to either buy it or choose not to, and neither choice actually effects the game in any way.
