Well, then let's create a new name...
Generation Next
Teen Power
Etc...
GG tends to have too many adults, maybe the Teen Heroes can pick a local rooftop to meet on anyway? -
Hey Corona, you do requests? or any paid commissions? Would love some work of my heroes in that style... VERY COOL!!
-
Personally, as aplayer of a mutant character, I was always hoping more would be made of the possible public reation.
With the emotes for banner waving, it'd be great to see some anti-mutie protestors outside City Hall in Atlas Park! -
Just wondering if there were any players on Union who get together with a friend to deliberately create a "Dynamic Duo" in a classic Older Mentor & Younger Sidekick style?
If so, how's it worked out for you? I've creates both hero & sidekick as individuals before, but wondered if it had been taken one step further? -
Yeah, I love the name Rooftop Generation too! So who's gonna do the hard work of getting all these hormonal teens working together?!
-
After an absense of a few months I've deleted most of my characters and reset my favourites to zero.
The Electron Kid is now back to his original 16 years old, and as he's now new to his powers again he doesn't even have a costume yet! I'll get him back in costume when he's a proper hero.
I'd be interested in playing with other teen heroes, maybe even setting up a Teen Titans or Sidekick Alliance type supergroup. message me here, or TELL me in game for a chat. -
I really love this idea... I've fancied playing an Adam Strange type for a while, but have always thought he'd be a bit "retro"!

If anyone other then the scout takes recall freind and tp, the scout loses his purpose. Same goes for invisibility and grant invis.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe that Scouts should have Concealment as their first pool, as their training is specifically for guerilla tactics (which changes once they earn their power armour).
IMHO TP Friend should be available to Apothecaries (not other TP powers) & Librarians (ALL TP Powers) for gathering the wounded out of harms way ready for healing, rather than for a Scout. -

if you guys want Wes as a commander... he would look like this

Ooooohhhh... Are we going back to purple armour then? -
I have taken the time to dissect one of these "Trolls", and can confirm that they do share many similarities with the Ork Filth with which we are familiar. However, they seem to be either a lesser subspecies or a de-evolved version of the same, which leads me to consider that we were more than dislocated in space, but perhaps in time, arriving before these creatures have evolved into the star spanning infection that we recognise as Orks.
This world and it's inhabitants are so strange in their behavior towards the Warp touched mutations which seem depressingly common. While I struggle with my own sinful mutation in the service of the Emperor, they seem to be worshipped by some, or ignored by others, rather than put to death by the majority for being abominations.
We shall bring the light of the Emperor to this place, and show them the true path of heroism. They shall accept the mercy of the Emperor and the justice of the Imperium, by force if nescesary.

I am intrigued by the mention of the commander having a unique build, what would you propose I go for?
[/ QUOTE ]
I kinda like the idea of a Tanker with twin robotic arms and huge gloves/robot hands from the costume builder, combined with taking Energy Melee, so that you have the twin Power Fist look! -
I agree that Empathy as a power set doesn't fit as well as the Medicine Pool, but I feel that without it we will need a lot more Apothercaries and we will be below strength for far longer than if we "shoe-horn" Empathy into another class.
The main difference:
Empathy Power set - Resurrect (Full HP/Full End) - Lvl 6
Medicine Pool - Resuscitate (Full HP/No End) - Lvl 20
I don't think it fits badly into the Librarian rationale, we just need to remember that we're inspired by the 40k, not crippled by it. Our Chapter is having to evolve, and our abilities with it... -

If we want to use the LARGE shoulder pads, then we need a different way to differentiate between troop types, as the shoulder trim won't be as obvious.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I prefer the smaller Tech ones, as the trim I think is useful. However, I wouldn't have any problem taking the big uns, and having the scouts use the smaller pads?
[/ QUOTE ]
My opinion is that the smaller tech ones are great for the Marines because the trim is useful (as you say), but the big ones might be good on Scouts because they're not supposed to be in powered armour yet! Flak Jacket and Big shoulder pads for Scouts, maybe with a coloured strip on their trousers to signify specialisty (assault/rifle)?

Librarians are de-buffers and troop support, but who primarily affect the enemy with their psychic abilities (Controller with either MC or Illusion and Kinetic or Empathy)
[/ QUOTE ]
Happy with that, though not sure about Empathy again
[/ QUOTE ]
The main idea behind this was that we don't have any dedicated healers, unless we say that Apothercaries have to be Empathy Defenders (and the Defender powersets don't seem to match the rationale at all!). Giving one of the marine types access to Empahy seemed sensible, and as Librarians have to take the Troop Support role, then it seemed reasonable that they would also have to find ways to use their psychic abilities in new ways in this dimension to forfil that role more. -
My thought was Super Jump for normal troops (Jump Packs), with Hover as an additional.
Teleport and/or Flight for Chaplains and Librarians, although Chaplains having the more visible Flightas their priority so they can be followed by troops. And Teleport for Terminators, beacuse they'd look stupid flying (and it's justified by 40K text)! -
Okay, so there's lots of new info been posted, and much of it seems to require a redesign of The Imperial Rifle IF we want to be more of a copy of true WH40K Space Marines...this means it's definately time to start defining our image with guidlines again!
If we want to use the LARGE shoulder pads, then we need a different way to differentiate between troop types, as the shoulder trim won't be as obvious.
One thought I have had; Librarians are controllers and as such debuff our enemy, and Chaplains are generally empath defenders for healing out troops, but who is actually buffing our troops? We only have one Commander, so he's gonna be spread a bit thin!
My thought was that Chaplains would be the buffers, and lead from the front and inspire the troops (Tankers/Scrappers with Leadership)
Librarians are de-buffers and troop support, but who primarily affect the enemy with their psychic abilities (Controller with either MC or Illusion and Kinetic or Empathy)
Apothecaries are the same as Battle Brothers, but have the medicine pool as their first pick up (field medics, not as good as any Empathy healers). can be either Rifle (Blaster AR/En) or Assault (Scrapper Sword/Inv)
Scouts the same as Battle brothers, but have Katanna for Assault, and use Concealment as their first pick up skill
Commander is unique, and other unique builds available as specific characters, as dictated by Commander.
I should say that I'm not a big "build" player, and I don't know the system well, so much of this is enthusiasm talking!
Any thoughts? -
I'm currently working on a text document tying as much of the WH40K law, CoH powersets, and Imperial Rifles rationale together as much as possible. This is more of a newbie/starter document detailing requirements for the different types of marine.
I'll send it on to Doulos for approval as soon as possible, but I think we need to start casting in stone some of the ideas here!
One quick question... I loved playing in the team last night, but why do the standard Battle Brothers have two tone helmets? wouldn't a single colour helmet work better, and use the two tone to differentiate rank? -
So, the Librarians become both the Psykers AND the Healers?
What job does that give the Chaplain? Just another tank?
Maybe we should try and handle this with coalitions? Have a seperate SG for Terminators, once for Marines, and one for Command and then coalition the whole thing? -
[ QUOTE ]
Like Eltrons white helmet idea for Apos, not sure how harps will feel, that man really wants his white armour
[/ QUOTE ]
As much as I hate to upset a fellow Brother Marine, Apothecaries are still normal marines albeit with a specialisation, so a "minor" variation on the standard armour seems appropriate
However, Librarians and Chaplians, well, we're just plain SPECIAL!!
and WHITE & BLACK armour to differentiate them would be so cool! -

Commanders: Charcoal and Gold
Librarians: (not sure yet TBC)
Chaplains: Charcoal and BLACK
Apowhatevers (Marines with Healing pool and leadeship) Silver with Charcoal
Assault Marines: Charcoal and RED
Rifle Marines: Charcoal and SILVER (as is)
Terminators: Charcoal and SILVER (as is)
Scouts: Charcoal and SILVER (as is)
[/ QUOTE ]
For my own two Imperial Credits worth...
Firstly, can we clarify what the order of colours mean? is it ARMOUR and Trim?
Commanders: Love it!
Librarians: WHITE Armour and Charcoal Trim (That's what I want anyway!)
Chaplains: BLACK Armour and charcoal (I'd love them to be dark!)
Apowhatevers (Marines with Healing pool and leadeship) Charcoal Armour with SILVER Trim (and WHITE helmets and shoulder pad trim in either RED or SILVER depending on Assault or Rifle basic)
Assault Marines: Great!
Rifle Marines: Great!
Terminators: Great!
Scouts: Great! ...just tweak the design -
LOL..thanks for the warning! Well, The Kid is more of a teenager than a child, but I guess that might not make a lot of difference to some people's perceptions of him!
-
Wordsmith, I apologise to you and everyone if my replies have annoyed or irritated, it wasn't the intention. Mostly my comments have been based on ignorance of the history surrounding the GG meets, but also from my own frustration.
I WANT to roleplay, and have so far found it a frustrating experience trying to get involved in appropriate RP. I had joined a specific RP SG in order to get some action, but The Kid was completely the wrong character for that group, and I have previously found heading over to GG to be an equally frustrating experience.
I will put my past experiences to one side and try again with GG. I apologies in advance if I annoy anyone as I will try and make The Kid a bit more forward that he has been in the past, at least initially in an effort try and get involved in some conversation! -

About a year ago, The Prize, a relatively well known heroine, called together the heroes of Paragon City to make a stand against the Council on Striga Isle. She chose the statue of Galaxy Girl as a place to meet and discuss what was to happen. The heroes, even those without the security clearence to get to Striga, agreed that meeting under the statue was valuable for forging social links and exchanging information.
Since then, it has become well known that heroes come together under the statue, and new heroes know that others of their kind can be found there. It's a place you can go where people don't treat you different just because you have green skin...
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, I admit my ignorance, but if I didn't know that there was a valid in-game reason for meeting then how are my characters supposed to know?
I had assumed that a group of RP players had chatted and decided that it was as good a place as any to meet for some "proper" roleplaying (after all the Atlas statue is a "very silly place"). -
Exactly. If your only reason for going to GG is for your own Storylines, or the Stories you are directly involved with, but none of the people in your Story are around then you've no reason to stay.
Let's try and give the place a purpose and a reason for being visited, rather than just the people there. -
I generally like the Scout, but seems more Imperial Guard then Marine...
-
One question I have is what reason do characters have to go to GG? I can understand going to Pocket D; It's a night club and because of that it has an in-built reason to go, but what reason would a character have to stand under a statue at 9pm every night?
The Electron Kid used to go and hang about because his parents were heroes, and they told him it was a good place to go and meet other "Supers" like him, but their day was pre-Pocket D, and The Kid soon got bored with all the turned backs. Why would my other alts go to GG? What's the reasoning?
Perhaps it's worth creating a new rationale to differentiate it from Pocket D and make it more popular/useful again... maybe by making it more like Speaker's Corner for Superheroes? (thinking out loud here, not a fully thought through idea!)
