So if I'm reading all this correctly I need to make Frank West, get the Zombie Genocider badge (Defeat 53,594 zombies during an apocalypse zone event), place my Real Megabuster Accolade power in my powertray, get a resetable mission set to -1/+8, then go in and 1-shot all the bosses, reset and repeat till rich?
If only I weren't joking... -
I'd like to add my name in with the others who'd like to know if anything more is going to be done with the shadow shard. Rularuu has been biding his time for quite a few issues now. Also is anything going to be done with the Devouring Earth? Isn't it about time that Eden and the Hive did a bit of growing and evolving? Would it be possible to make more enemy types within the Devouring Earth such as turret-type plants or shadow cyst like DE that continually spawn the little DE critters until you kill them?
Edited because I forgot... Congratulations on your promotion. Also possibly a very important question is the compensation worth the added complications? -
Please make two new emotes.
The first one should be /e facepalm
The second one should be /e doublefacepalm and should summon a clone of your character right next to you that will also do the facepalm emote.
I really need these for dealing with some of people in the more populated servers. As an added bonus could you make the facepalm emote work on MM pets too. You know for those rare occasions where even a double facepalm doesnt express how much someone has failed.
Thank you. -
Okay I've had a chance to play my duo to level 13 and it is ridiculous. Most of the time I'm sitting at 45% defense to all, an extra 37.5% damage, and with alternating beacons about 200% extra regen. After the mortars get laid down the enemies are at -52% resistance and defense. I walk through spawns set for 4-8 even con with next to no hp damage. And I only have 2 attacks. Traps suffers from the same problem every defender set does, when you get two or more of them coordinating their efforts they break risk vs reward.
-
Okay had a chance test it out last night with a much more complicated game, Crysis, and its running at close to max settings with no noticible slow downs. I have tested it with the physx card disabled and with it running and have noticed a small difference in how well it plays. The physx card does not do anything for CoH as far as I can tell the option is still greyed out in my options menu. Powerstream I'll send you a pm with where I bought it and what it cost.

The accolade he was talking about is the Atlas Medallion. It grants your character permanent increase in endurance by 5. Soo if you have 100 endurance normally when you get the atlas medallion you have 105. Other Accolades add to health total by 5-10% and there are even others that grant access to clickable powers or unlockable weapon models. On another note there is another giant floating ball like the one in the storm palace in the chantry and you can actually go in that one whenever you want. Its the prison of Faathim, an aspect of Rularuu. I really wish there were some missions with the same kind of wall and floor textures like whats in the chantry itself.

I just realized that my duo that I'm thinking about dual boxing would be very hard to kill once DOs have been reached as long as I 4-6 slotted both FFG and maneuvers. A respec after 22 will have those reduced back to reasonable SO slotting. I wonder if picking up assault on both would be worth the endurance cost?
-
I have some questions to add. I'm thinking about dual boxing two traps defenders. The idea is kind of an elite spec ops duo. So I'll be stealthing a lot.
1st question: Since I'm going to try stealthing would grant invis keep my FFG from giving away my position?
2nd question: Will it be possible to time things so that I can dual TB or dual trip mine spawns?
3rd question: If I'm stealthed and I set an acid mortar will the enemies attack the mortar or will they suddenly lock their hatred filled eyes on me?
4th question: I'm not sure what blast sets to pick for their secondaries, maybe assualt rifle but that just seems overdone.
5th question: Would it be possible to casually pvp this dual box set-up in zones given that I'm normally a very patient person who doesnt really care if he gets pwned often so long he occassionally succeeds.
Edit:
6th Question: Does activated triage beacon break stealth?
Redit: Triage Bacon sounded like hospital food and we all know how terribad that is. -
Quote:It is a seperate card that was advertised as being there just to handle that function. Now if I was sold a line of crap that be nice to know however there will probably be next nothing I can do about it at this point it just means I won't do business with them anymore. It's not a seperate card. All nVidia cards have built-in PhysX now. That just appears to be some type of marketing mumbo jumbo attempting to point out the PhysX as a seperate entity even though it's not anymore.
An update on my comp.... Apparently it is either sentient or possessed by the disembodied spirit of a forsaken angry child. I set it to update but not automatically shut off and I just checked with my roommate and it had shut itself off and interrupted my download again. I've also changed the settings so that it does not go into sleep mode by itself after a certain amount of time. I should've named the thing Johnny 5... -
Powerstream I will be able to tell you if the physx option works in CoH when I get home if I get home this evening. Work kept me out till 9:30 last night so I only had time to unpack the comp, get windows set-up load my favorite anti-virus software and initiate the download for CoH. If its not done this evening or if i get stuck working another 12-13 hour shift I will be seeing red. I'll post later on today with conformation if it works or not pending my work schedule. Hope that I get houses that are easy to install in there are 7 installs and 11 repair calls remaining as off now 1:30 and only 5 other people working today so this may be a long day.
-
Thanks for the conformation guys. It still amazes me how helpful people on these forums are compare to many of the gaming forums I participate in. I was also hoping to run the new crysis mod that turns crysis into mechwarrior. Either way this new pc is lightyears ahead of my old one and way faster, an example on my old one you start IE wait about 5 seconds and its up and running, on this pc its near instant. Also I didnt realize thsat there were two different DVI cords. I thought the one I've had for about 3 years was good enough but I was looking at the number of pins in it versus the pin set-up on my new cards and it is lacking a few so hopefully when I get off work today I'm going to go check my monitor and if its the same as my new cards I'll be getting a new cable and seeing what I've been missing.

Should I upgrade the ram to 12GB or just leave it at 6GB. Also the two GTX260s are in SLI. Please help I'm kind of computer literate but not that literate. My intent when I bought this computer was to get a computer that will last me several years and will not become a mid range or low performance pc for a very long time. -
I got my new computer... yay!!! Damn near had a gollum moment when I was opening it and someone had a open drink nearby. So I'll be playing a PB soon I'm gonna try a different server from triumph. I think I'll be playing on Freedom. Just another 5 hours till COH finishes downloading...

Okay so apparently its damage mitigation must remain unchanged or bettered for people to accept any change to the power, how about instead of an immob it did a 2.5 second enhanceable mag 3 hold (choking, gasping for breath animation) all other effects remain unchanged. This way the mobs still arent attacking those of you who use this power for mitigation and I still get my damage on my blasters and scrappers that like burninating the mobs.
-
Before I get started I'm aware of the "standard code rant" but I just had this idea while working and I think its at least not a really bad idea. My idea is to add a short duration aoe immob on to burn to allow it to do some damage. I figure a 2.5 second duration aoe immob should be just enough to allow the power to do damage while still allowing the fear portion of the power to work for those that actually use that effect. In addition the immob should be enhanceable to allow those that want to do more damage with burn to set it up that way. A full 5 seconds in the patch plus the time it takes to run out of it should make the power much more damaging. I think this would allow people who select Fiery Aura to be much more self sufficient while keeping the effects of the power similar to what they were before. I hope this follows the cottage rule enough that it at least wont break that.
-
Good lord I never realized how much I'd miss having a comp. I'm getting tempted to go buy windows 7 and reformat my old computer. (A virus + malware ate mine, was using Avast) If I ever get my hands on the people who write those things I'll probably end up violating the Geneva convention. I'm thinking the headgear used to keep people awake and watching something plus clips of Jar Jar from Phantom Menace.
Anyways I'm trying to figure out what to slot for after I get enough defense to ignore quants. I'm thinking extra damage but recharge, endurance, or hp might be good. Also is the nuke worth taking. If I do take it I will probably use it whenever I get a chance as a fight finisher. -
Quite possibly the most disturbing thing I've seen in COH was 2 years ago when I tried to play on virtie for a bit. This is in relation to another post I made just a few minutes ago on the forum. There was a female PB and a male Regen scrapper in Pocket D.
You know where this is going... anyways they didnt use tells so I ended up catching snippets of the conversation and they were ERPing. The dialogue isn't fit for the forum but the creepy/funny part was she was using glowing touch on him and then he used MoG to signify he was done.I managed to stay on virtue for about 1 week and that was one of the many things that sent me running.
-
I may have idea for a change to glowing touch which by the way sounds creepy. ("He touched me and made me feel good...
) Turn glowing touch into a pbaoe toggle aura that heals everyone in its radius just like a slightly lesser version of the pain domination power for corruptors.
This does three things:- Increases your own and your teams survivability.
- Gives PBs an aura type power that is like the warshade pbaoe power except it heals instead of damages, further reinforcing their common origin.
- Further reinforces the idea that PBs are aligned power-wise with defenders rather than controllers.
The idea would be that you radiate healing kheldian energies that constantly refresh and renew yourself and your allies. Not sure what the name would be changed to though. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who hasn't gotten a PB over 20 so be nice when you tear my idea apart. Also I dont know if this breaks the cottage rule since the what the power does wouldnt be changed but how it does it would. -
When my new comp arrives I plan on playing a Peacebringer for my 5th attempt at making one I like. I was hoping to play as a vanguard style character. Not vanguard like the in game organization but like the guy who hits first in a battle. Punches a hole for others to come through and then disrupts any remaining defense. I plan on getting around 30% ranged defense if I can do it without weakening the remainder of my build.
The advice I need is on forms and attack strategies. I'd prefer not to use forms but I'm open to advice. As for attack strategies do I lead with a ranged aoe, ranged single, or do I go in and pretend that the boss/void/quant is Worf and try to toss him around like a ragdoll. Also at what level can I start to do this kind of stuff. My impression over the last attempts has been that peacebringers are very weak at low levels. I've never gotten one over 20.
I've got another 2-3 weeks before my new comp gets here. So I've got plenty of time to figure it out. Please help. -
Kind of funny but I probably do something that would make most "Ebil Marketeers" shake there heads in disgust. I finished IOing my favorite toon a long time ago. Now when every i make a sell for significant chunk of change I either spend it on an IO craft it and bank it in my personal SG or I dump it into prestige at that ridiculous exchange rate. If you really want the price to go down on the market reduce the inflation of the currency by removing it from the system. Of course me by myself will never make a ripple in pool of influence that has accumulated over the years but if more and more people started doing it eventually a change would be noticed in the overall amount of influence available. Now here's the real bad one, I have sold one of those 3% defense pvp IOs. Guess where the 1.8billion went that someone spent hours making? Thats right my base ate it. I'm the real Ebil Marketeer, I play all aspects of the game casually including market pvp and actual pvp, and take the influence I've earned and make it go 100% away. Anyways now that I've made myself seem very crazy I need to get back to work. Have fun playing the game your way, I know I do with my way.
tl:dr version
My base eats your money and likes it.
Re-edit tl:dr version
My base eats your blood, sweat and tears and craps out shiny stuff for me to put on my wall. -
Asbestos Armor
1. Crysotile Armor - Toggle Gives Fire and Cold resistance as well as defense to smashing/lethal.
2. Fiber Shedding - Damage toggle, deals very low toxic damage to self and enemies as well as moderately lowering endurance of the enemies as their lungs become damaged.
3. Amosite Armor - Toggle Gives Energy and Negative resistance as well as defense to smashing/lethal.
4. Crocidolite Armor - Toggle Gives Toxic and Psionic resistance as well as smashing/lethal defense
5. Hacking Cough - Click mez protection The need to cough up crud becomes greater than the ability of enemies to hold you. Small amount of damage on click.
6. Fiber Cloud - Lowers the to-hit of enemies in the area.
7. Fiber Damage - Passive Every hit landed will cause a regenration debuff as the everpresent fiber infect any wound and make regeneration more difficult.
8. Thicken Coating - HP buff
9. Fiber Explosion - Self destruct cause by the detonation of the players oxygen tank ( occasionally caused by smoking while fighting) causes asbestos fibers to be flung at supersonic speeds harming every enemy in the area as well as reducing their regeneration and recovery.

How many seconds does it take to cover the roof of a dog house in flapjacks while riding on a unicycle?
Also and this one is slightly serious, what would a shriner's powersets be?

I wonder if large amounts amounts of lowbies flooding the zone during a raid is considered griefing.
-
Talen I did not want to argue your points. I do not have to give you a reason for disagreeing with you. My wishlist had nothing to do with your post. It was just that, a wishlist. I will not pick your post apart, stating my reasons for disagreeing with them on an individual basis, because you do have valid points. I simply disagree.
-
Sorry Talen, I do not agree with you. I would like to see a pistol ancillary. I do not want gun kata though. Do want:
A sustained rapid fire single target 18 tick dot (9 bullets each gun) with a reload animation afterward. Needs lower accuracy because rapid fire with any gun tends to be inaccurate.
A 45 degree cone also with reload animation.
A knockdown shot with minimal damage ( special animation where toon loads and chambers a different round.
A armor peircing round similar to acid arrow but single target only with lower debuff, no more than 13%.
A auto power that improves accuracy. ( not to-hit )
Those were not in any particular order.
