Maxine peered over at the site, giving the place as good a look-over as possible from her current position as dark clouds gradually formed around the Mackem.

Hearing the sliding of the main entrance, Emily turns to look at the new arrival. Beth on the other hand makes herself busy looking through the doorways, working her way along corridor as she searches for the Office they want.
"Ah, Miss Longstaff. Would you care to join us? We were just about to take a look around." says Emily with a very laid on formality.
Emily knew Molly.EXE, but not too well. She seemed a good soul and ignoring her would just hamper the investigation. Plus she had a way with technology that even Beth couldn't match.

Molly blinked momentarily, before giving a quick nod.
"Sure thing," she answered with a smile as she took a few steps toward Emily. "I'd love to." -

The minimum width was increased.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. It's really annoying isn't it.
The good news is that you can shrink the whole window with the following command:-
/windowscale recipe 0.8
The last part is a number between 0.0 and 1.0. 0.8 makes the minimum width about the same as it used to be.
The bad news is that this makes the text smaller and harder to read.

You can adjust the font size independently of the window size as well. Just go into Menu > Options, and a small slider should be staring at you on the window that comes up. Or if you scroll down a little. -
The almost rhythmic clicking of high heels on concrete signalled Molly's arrival as she approached the InfiniCorp builing within Steel Canyon. The Pink One maintained a steady pace as she looked up at the banner down its side, raising a brow momentarily.
Miss, the trace you requested has worked its magic, the disembodied voice of Erica made its presence known within Molly's head. Nothing special, everything was pretty much legit.
I wouldn't say everything, Erica. Molly responded as she returned her attention to the main entrance.
Of course, Miss. I just figured the message itself and what he was implying would have went without saying.
Molly giggled quietly.
Okay, time for a little fieldwork, Erica. Get yourself over to the stations that put it out, poke around as much as you can, okay.
Consider it done, Miss.
Molly finally approached the doors and swung one of them open, catching sight of two women dressed in black as she let the door swing shut, followed by the sight of the reception bot as the two of them continued onward. -
8:10 AM
"Miss Molly?"
Molly Longstaff groaned quietly as she was slowly pulled from the land on Nod by the voice of her android butler Erica.
"Miss Molly, please wake up. I have something that may be of interest to you."
"Just a few more minutes, okay?" Molly muttered as she shuffled a little in her bed. "So... need... a few more..."
"Miss Molly, it's concerning the hero known as Infinitron. You know, the one that sh..."
"Wait, what?" Molly blinked as she remained still under her quilt. "What about him?"
"He's... gone completely off his rocker, it seems, Miss. Completely turned vigilante, it seems."
"WHAT!?" Molly yelled as she sat bolt upright in her bed, flinging the quilt off herself in the process and just about revealing all to the small camera drone hovering directly in front of her. A cough emerged from the drone.
"Miss," Erica's voice uttered from the hovering drone. "You may wish to cover youself. This drone is streaming to the DataSpace."
"Eep!" Molly squeaked as she rushed to drag the quilt back up to neck level. "Totally not a great start to the day, huh?"
"Indeed, Miss. Shall I send you the broadcast he made while you get dressed?"
"Sure thing, thanks."

8:15 AM
Alright, Erica! Molly communicated silently with her butler as she stormed out of her bedroom wearing her pink dress and high heels, making a bee-line for the kitchen, and in turn, her toaster. This is the plan... for now. I want Longsword Prime set to Surveillence Mode and shifted over Perez Park. Get a trace on that broadcast running. I've got a train to Steel to catch.
Molly then casually dropped a slice of bread into the toaster and slammed the lever down.
*********************
Erica stood at the centre of the spherical supersystem that was the DataSpace, raising a brow at Molly's final sentence: She had a train to catch.
"Very well, Miss." The machine butler responded as two windows popped up on the walls of the DataSpace: one displaying a simple world map along with a single blip pointing out the location of the mislaunched satellite Longsword Prime, and the other window, showing what appeared to be a chibi version of Erica herself, holding a magnifying glass in her hand. Above her head was a white speech bubble which read: "TRACE IN PROGRESS. You may want to go put the kettle on!"
"Indeed." Erica muttered as she stepped forward, making her way out of the DataSpace as blip slowly moved over Rhode Island. -
Okay, Friday night, I'd logged into CoX just fine, logged out without any problems. Whatsoever.
Tonight, the first time since then, I went to log in, chose Union... crash. Try again... crash. Try a different server... crash. Try running in compatibility mode... you get the idea. It's always smack bang when I choose a server, and I can't understand why. Short of a Windows Update that I probably didn't notice, nothing, as far as I know, has changed on this computer between Friday and tonight. Nothing.
Running Windows XP Pro here.
[EDIT]Just discovered that I can log in fine with my second account. Strange. o.O -

"You can NOT hate this track, listeners. Jan Hammer's "Crockett's Theme", from Miami Vice. I've actually been spending the past few nights of my spare time watching the whole series from start to finish. I think I'm getting there."
"Okay, bit of an odd one, here. News has just come in that a sports car flipped and barrel-rolled off the road in Skyway City just a few minutes ago. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the accident, and the driver was a mutant with some pretty thick skin. And bones. And pretty much everything else that made uo his body. So anyway, he crawled out from the wreckage A-OK, albeit with a 'minor headache'."
"Now, what was -funny- about it... a friend of mine just called me about it. Says he saw this one guy walking out of a shop, taking a few casual sips from his can of whatever, just about to cross the road when the car crashed down in front of him. Just mere inches from his face, apparently. So this guy just stopped himself. Didn't flinch, didn't jump back in shock at the sudden sight of an expensive car nearly pancaking him. He just stops, watches the car skid along, without even turning his head. As soon as the car finally stopped, well, he just shrugged, took another sip and crossed the road like nothing happened. Crazy guy. Ya know, we should find him, get him on the station for a few minutes. I wanna know what was going through that guys head."
"We return to the music now, with Apocalytica. "I Don't Care". Crank it to 11, people." -

I tried it myself about a month ago using Ubuntu and WINE. It seemed to run just fine, albeit at a slightly reduced framerate and a lack of fog, if I remember correctly.

Ooh, i bet dark astoria was actually 'not-so-Dark Astoria, then ?

Wouldn't know. Tried it on a single char in Galaxy City before I had to get on with other things. I figure there'd still be a reduced draw distance there, though. -

We need an "force finish" mission button that lets you finish of the mission despite a clicky or a loose minion running somewhere. Put it on a time limit, don't give xp/inf for force finishing the mission either. It would safe so much frustration.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's already the "Drop this mission from the current contact" option. Just talk to the contact that gave it to you. Works once every 3 days per character and flags the mission as complete, granting you full completion reward (excluding any mobs you failed to defeat of or glowies you didn't get to interact with, of course.) Specific missions are exempt though, like badge missions. -
You do know that the Valkyrie Pack will get a separate (and cheaper) release from the Mac Edition within a few months, right?
That and the Mac SE does include a month's playing time and all. -
What the? Looks like the handbook just got itself a spambot... :\

"Kid Cudi with "Day and Nite". Future. Classic."
"Next up, we've got an oldie from the boss herself, DJ Stacker, but before we do I'd like to give shout out to an old friend of mine who seems to have moved to the city at some point in time, Ricky Stickyback - it's a nickname, seriously. Congratulations, Ricky, on your free ride in the back of a PPD car along with your 'vacation' at the City's 5-star prison, the Zig! I'll also personally award you the bill for any dents to my car after I get it back."
"Back to the music now, this is "Tripwire" from early 2006. Enjoy." -

"Gary Numan, Tubeway Army, pick one. Regardless, that was "Are 'Friends' Electric?" from 1979, way before Sugababes. Seriously."
"Reports coming in now that a PPD raid on a warehouse in Independence has taken a turn for the creepy. Paragon's finest, expecting to catch a drug deal in progress instead found more than thirty bodies, all of them beleived to be Skulls or Family and all of them appearing to have been shot. Normally that sorta scene gets chalked up to the whole deal going downhill and both parties trying to wipe each other out after bickering about it for all of 5 seconds, but the same reports are saying that the remaining Superadine on offer there - estimated to be worth about three hundred thousand bucks - and the complete lack of spent casings or ammo there suggests that might not have been the case. You know, like someone took the phrase "Kill Skuls" just a -little- too literally."
"PPD currently have no leads whatsoever - like I said, people *adopts a deep booming voice and applies some echo* CREEPYYYYYY *returns to normal* - and are currently calling for witnesses. Good luck with that, something tells me they're gonna need it."
"So while anyone interested in this case might wanna go check that out, let's continue with more great music. Something obscure this time, "Robot Sneakers" from Trash80!" -
Monday 5th Jan, 9:23AM.
"Okay, for those that tuned in just now, that was "The Promise" from Girls Aloud. We're getting some fresh news right now that an explosion's just occurred at a Kings Row apartment wiping out the whole thing and leaving nothing but two walls. The one sole witness so far claimed to have seen a man in a strange wheelchair that was apparently fitted with some kind of long-range rifle. Unfortunately, said witness was a drunken bum. I kid you not. Anyway, while I'm guessing a few heroes are looking to check that scene out, back to the music, starting with a track from Morgana Fiolett's "Roses in December" album. Have a good listen." -
Molly staggered about for a moment before eventually giving up, keeping herself in the air instead.
"You know, it would be nice if we had means for a sharp exit!" -

"And that was DragonForce with "Operation Ground and Pound". In a word: epic. This is great, ya know? I've barely been hosting for a DAY and already my inbox is flooding with emails from all over the city with requests, questions and generally stuff you lot consider news worth. Okay, so I only have as long as the next batch of songs to properly sift through them. There's a LOT here, so don't feel ignored if I don't manage to answer your message."
"Ooooo-kay, got a request here from the first one, randomly clicked for quickness and all that! Judi from Kings Row asking for Terence Trent D'arby's "Sign Your Name". I -think- we've got it somewhere, just gimme a moment to find it and it'll be the first thing on the playlist if it is."
"Okay, next email... Aaron from Steel Canyon, asking this:

DEAR Mr. Maxxis, You said you're a registered hero. Have you ever worked alongside other heroes?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I think it's safe to say... yeah, I've worked with a few in the short time I've been here. Stormed though the city's sewer system with a bunch of them, met some crazy topless guy from England with funky tattoos the other day that could churn out more radiation than is probably good for his health - didn't sound like many of the Brits I've come across in the past, but whatever. He was cool. I've also popped over to the statue of Galaxy Girl a couple of times. Speaking purely from personal experience though... some kinda crazy over there, I think. But that's just me speaking from minimal experience, of course!"
"Okay, that was two randomly plucked out mails answered, I'll go through more of them over the course of this next playlist, starting with the requested "Sign Your Name" by Terence Trent D'arby." -
Molly hopped to her feet and rushed over to Assasion, cringing as she approached.
"Well, that was totally unnecessary..." Molly muttered as she looked over the corpse. -
((Okie dokie, this is just a tiny random idea that's been running in my head of a while now. This thread'll basically consist of snippets and quotes from a DJ at a newly-launched radio station, who also works as a hero and subsequently comments on stuff going on around Paragon along with his own experiences.))
((If anyone has anything you think is worthy of the DJ's notice, feel free to PM me. Can be local news, rumour or something he's likely to spot on his travels. :P ))
For the past few weeks, flyers and advertisements have been found across the Rhode Island area, advertising a new radio station by the name of Rescuer Radio. The station finally launched on the proposed date and time - Saturday January 3rd 2009, 6:00PM local time for Paragon - with the opening song "We Built This City" by Starship. When the song finally ends:
"Gooooooooooood Morning, Paragon City! This is DJ Marc Maxxis welcoming all of you out there tuning into Rescuer Radio this today! I apologise for my choice of opening song, but it was either that or "Paradise City". Yeah. Anyway, I'd like to say it's good to be here, but... well, there isn't a but. It's good to be here! *laughs*"
"I'll be hosting till noon bringing you good music and stories from around the city and the state, coming back at midnight for more fun. I can see myself downing a LOT of caffeine! *laughs again* Anyway less talk more music. Next up: "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga." -
"Time for a sharp exit, I think!" Molly yelled as she fired off her boots again, letting off a few spray-and-pray bursts at Assasion as she slid backward along the floor.
-
Link for the lazy
To be honest, I seriously doubt anyone's gonna be able to answer you, especially when all there is to go on is "Unknown: ???". In fact, I think it's safe to say it's an absolute certainty nobody's gonna be able to name that badge yet. :/ -
So get friends. Random joes aren't going to sacrifice their XP for someone they don't even know.
-
sorudo, Leveling pacts weren't intended for anyone to just join anyone for the sake of it. They're for, you know... friends and relatives playing together.
-
Molly wasn't too sure whether to consider herself lucky or unlucky when the force bolt slammed off her rifle, sending the girl airborne for a split second before she crashed down onto the floor.
"...Ow..." she groaned as she her eyes flickered a few random colours. "That's... kinda no way for a host to greet his guests!" From Molly's point of view those random colours were her heads-up display, taking a moment to reform and pick up on Assasion's scream, and then the oncoming barrage. Molly quickly grabbed her rifle and set her rocket boots away, sliding her back along the floor and hopefully out of the path of the force bolts.
"Hey, you know something?" The genius then piped up as she raised her rifle and aimed for Assasion's shoulder, still down on the floor. It wasn't her place to kill, a shoulder shot should take him down just fine. "This party's been pretty lousy, good thing it's over... right... about..."
A few red spots started linking on Molly's HUD, a sign that those few red blocks were just about out of juice. Molly needed to take a shot and fast if she was going to blast Assasion like a sheet of paper - hopefully.
"...NOW!" Molly pulled the trigger just in time, sending a single snipe round hurtling toward Assasion at far greater speed than the norm, a red trail tracing the bullet's path for a brief moment. -
Dood, no offense or owt, but couldn't you have just posted the parts of that log that mattered? As it is right now, it's an eye-crushing wall of text, making it damn near impossible to see what the hell you're on about. :/

I'd love to see Peregrine Island become a 'level 40 minimum' restricted entry zone..
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if the island gets bombed to the point of uninhabitability. Until then, as long as there are civvies there, heroes of any level should be allowed to go there too, frankly.
[EDIT] Dear shift key: please co-operate or I will beat you with an active chainsaw. Thankyoo.
