Stuff it. The petition became a waste of time when they started asking me to check for overheating issues (lolwut?). Just gonna reinstall and endure the update.

You don't even need to download anything. Just buy it off the PlayNC store, whap the code you're given onto your CoX account and login to the game itself as you normally do: BOOM! You've got 'em.

You mean your Global channels? Right-click one of your tabs and select Edit Tab, see if they're still listed on the right hand side of the window that comes up. If not, then you've lost them all and will need to rejoin them. If they are, check to see if they've just been removed from the tabs you had them on and re-add them if they have.

Happened again. Seriously ticked off. Log in with my first account, choose a server, ANY server, crash. Doesn't happen with my second account. I can log in fine on that one. It's something on the first one that's not even letting me near the char select screen before croaking on me.

Last time, I 'fixed' this by copying an earlier version back into the game's folder and letting it update to the current one, but I'm really not in the mood for doing that every month. Any ideas? Anyone? Cookie to the winner?

I just copied everything to an external hard drive, then after reinstalling Windows, I installed CoX using my Heroes disc then copied the backed-up files back to their original folders. Worked every time.

If you don't have an external hard drive handy, a DVD-R might still be sufficient.

This isn't exactly true. Most of those players with 50s on any server either have or will at some point have one or more lower-level alts on their account, and I've been offered spots on many a higher-level PuG myself, almost all of them requiring me to be SKed. I've also had to be SKed quite a bit on non-PuG teams, so the SK system does see use. Lots of use. I can be seen on my L50 hero quite a bit if I can be bothered with him, but seriously... you should see how many non-50 alts I have, at this time, ranging from 1 to 30, and I juggle them a lot more than I log into that 50! o.O

Framerate has nothing to do with lag and 65FPS -is- actually a good thing.

What you should be trying to find is your ping, using at least the /netgraph x command (where x is 1 to show and 0 to hide).

Anyone who heard that would find a strange box-like device at their feet, bearing a red LED dot matrix display. Initially, the display shows nothing more than a smiley.

With that, the display turns blank briefly, before flicking back on with a timer that reads 1:00. Almost immediately, the device starts to beep every second, dropping the timer down a second each time as well.

Meanwhile, a bloody, battered and bruised ShoXtar staggered to the nearest exit while nobody looked, leaning against the edge of one of the door frames from a moment while he clutched his stomach. Eventually, broke his silence.

I don't think there ever was a "Sound" folder. Everything's in the piggs themselves, which you aren't allowed to peek in as per the game's terms of use.

Why not just make a copy of the CoX folder and using the original copy for EU and the new copy for the US servers? :S

It'd make switching a lot easier, I reckon.

I can't really bring myself to play either of my 2 Controllers myself. Dunno why, but they just tend to bore me a little, I think.

If I remember correctly, and going off a recent blonde moment I had tonight my Emp/Ice Defender, I believe the PD VIP Pass unlocks at Combat Level 3, not Security Level 3.

So if I'm reading Tyger's post correctly, if the Levelling Pact he's in gets his still-in-Outbreak char to Combat Level 5 he -should- be able to use the power within Outbreak.
