We all have our own opinions which is a great thing, but looking at all those on my in-game/crap talking ignore list...my opinion would be the very vocal types are a little more than a minority.

To each their own and I welcome our new EU overlords .

What's there to understand? The concept of forum trolls isn't comparable to string theory nor is it a new construction. Going back to my original statement, are you posting all of this to say that I am incorrect at pointing out that a Freedom feeding frenzy is going to happen when the EU players step up all friendly and full of enthusiasm as seen by the below statement?

"When the server list finally gets merged do you think there would be much interest in arranging an odd day for something like this? Where those not on a highly populated pvp orientated server can say hi and show their leet skills."

Sorry if you misinterpreted my orignal post as crying about broadcast PvP, that wasn't my intention and I actually stopped worrying about that many issues ago. I was simply pointing out that our EU friends should not cross over and assume a friendly atmoshpere will be waiting for them like some sort of long lost PvP family reunion.

Not really...just calling it like I see it (I figured out how to ignore broadcast pvp in i11). You don't even have to go into zones to see what I'm saying, simply take a look at the way many people talk to each other on the PvP forums to get a good feel for how they act in game.

Well, if you are talking about Freedom...a large slice of the population isn't very nice or mature so a cool meet & greet will turn into players wanting to just shoot you in the face non-stop until the EU peeps get tired of being cordial/friendly.

Don't look at this as an opportunity to make a lot of new friends, b/c many US players are frothing at the mouth and simply looking at the merge as a chance for more targets to chase down with their psi/nrg Blasters.

I'm back to the game after a long hiatus. I lost interest in CoX several months ago and finally left in January to try out DCUO. My opinion: It's got a lotta potential but Sony's gonna ruin it. In the end I just couldn't stay away from all the great people and gameplay that this game provides.

But none of that's really important. I'm posting to let you guys know that I haven't come back empty handed. I finally managed to put together a guide for PBs that, I feel, is long overdue. It's linked at the bottom of this post and in my sig. Please check it out and leave me some feedback.

With the right changes to the vitamins and acids, it goes from an energy drink that can boost your overall attitude (Alkaloid) to a deadly liquid that can destroy your immune system and bring your five senses to a grinding halt (Envenom, Weaken, Neurotoxic Breath). Reformulated again, and it can bring people back from the dead (Elixir of Life). A third reformulation causes it to enhance your nervous system's synapse bridges (Antidote). Another change and it will seize your muscles (Paralytic Poison) and, should this change be heated and evaporated, it will cause leprosy, decomposition and brain damage (Noxious Gas).

... sorry, I just REALLY love his concept.
I love it...and sometimes a great concept can rule out cons altogether. Nicely done.

(They still have likely not attacked you, they cannot make up their mind how they want to do it.) You jump back out to start the AOE's and range with Venom, and then they are switching back to their ranged attack. Hah, jump back in after the AOE's and Bayonet the hard target, they might even reset again if they are still alive. So reseting the mobs by jumping back and forth limits the attacks, combined with the recharge slow of the webs limiting their attack rate, plus you are hard to hit anyway: Who needs the more sturdy damage resistence of the Crab? I also like my Crab mind you; yet I just like the Huntsman even more. The play style for me is more up tempo and dynamic.
Just wanted to say nice build; gave me some ideas to think about.

What everyone else has said. The factors that make a WS such an awesome beast in PvE also gimp it in PvP...add in the current PvP mechanics and even a higher skilled player on a WS shouldn't be able to beat a lower skilled player on a PB.

I'd even go so far to say that if you have 3 PvPers of equal skill, 1x PB should be able to beat 2x WSs more times than not.

Yes, she is taller than I.
Technically, you should use the subject pronoun after than (e.g., I), as opposed to the object pronoun (me). However, English speakers commonly use the object pronoun.

    Then
    Then has numerous meanings.
    1. At that point in time
    I wasn't ready then.
Will you be home at noon? I'll call you then.
    2. Next, afterward
I went to the store, and then to the bank
Do your homework and then go to bed
    3. In addition, also, on top of that
He told me he was leaving, and then that I owed him money
It cost $5,000, and then there's tax too
    4. In that case, therefore (often with "if")
If you want to go, then you'll have to finish your homework.
    I'm hungry!
    Then you should eat.
    The Bottom Line
Than is used only in comparisons, so if you're comparing something use than. If not, then you have to use then. What could be easier than that?
This post constitutes 15 minutes of your life that you will never get back.

I rarely see KB from my PB but I think that's because I focus on bosses. And if you/the team are hassled by Cysts/Voids/Quantums, I gotta say you are doing something wrong.

I agree with everything Ehina said but especially this. Most will be disappointed unless you make a toon that plays on the strengths and minimizes the weaknesses of the AT. On my Human PB (this is without Cosmic Balance), I went with a non purpled, high recharge build that has perma Essence Boost putting him at approximately 2100hps all the time. Damage is also solid due to Radiant and Incan. Strikes rotating every 4 and 6 secs. I'd like to see changes to Photon Seekers, but with BU and them doing just shy of 800dmg every 90secs, I don't complain much. Lastly, I plussed up Status Resistances so not phased by much of anything. The same can easily be done for Tri-Forming/Bi-Forming in order to make PBs more than worth playing.

If your PB doesn't have a focus, it definitely does not seem very playable straight out of the box.

Most have said it already but you have to decide how you want to play your PB. I have 2 x lv50s, a tri-former for PvP and a Human build that farms tips (mostly for hero merits to get IOs) and runs only TFs. With the right build and IOs, I have not had any of the weak damage or mez issues that many complain about in solo play or teamed...they're both pretty beastly toons actually.

You will see a lot of negative comments from people that either have not played PBs since the buffage or others that just don't enjoy the AT and have it fixed in their heads that it's awful with no redemption. I had a discussion with someone about how the damage on PBs was Defender level and survivability was non-existent which is pretty laughable when everything is said and done.

If you haven't already, just check the threads in the Kheld forum for build advice etc.

I personally wouldn't consider the added end cost of pool Tactics worth whatever scant few %Tohit I might be missing in such rare instances.
    This.
And doesn't it seem like everyone else already has Leadership/Tactics now that Fitness is inherent?

I hate hover. Basically I'm not happy with what my Soldier can do and I'd like to try either Bane or Huntsman. However I have no idea outside of Crab powers what the others are like 'on the field'.

So what were your primary goals when Making your Non crab soldiers (yes including banes) and what play style choices help you enjoy your soldiers?
Not asking for a build, just need some folks with lots of experience to chime in

    Thanks!
I decided to go Hunts after reading all the good info in the below post mostly:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=124651

I see Soldiers built so many different ways, you just have to decide how your play preferences will determine your build. Mine is a ranged AOE monster with a hard hitting melee attack when needed. I prefer ranged vs melee but added in BU/Placate/Shatter/Surveillance/Cloaking Device from the Bane tree. He's sitting at softcap to S/L and Ranged, 80% global recharge and went with Dakest Night from the Soul Mastery for the -to hit; it's always big fun to play.

As long as there are people out there that have learned to deal with the common complaints/issues and enjoy the AT then the "let's have a strike against Khelds" idea won't really play out. I love my Huntsman/Bane/Fort, but I love my PB and WS too.

The frustration is usually directed at PBs and while I'd welcome some performance boosts, I feel it plays fine as is.
  22. Sorry I wasn't able to get back on the 2nd night E; worked a double and was half asleep by the time I got home. I hoped it played out well.

Yeah...set bonus' allows you to do some great things with your PB as well as any other toons. +hps, +dmg, +etc etc...cant really go wrong if you focus on specific aspects.
