Quote:Electric/ has been a staple PvP primary since it came out due to Thunderstrike, which is like a 2nd AS when it crits. Go with proc'd attacks, they are your friend.so i heard that elec/nin stalkers are suppose to be good in pvp any truth in this ? if anyone has one with a good pvp build sets and what nots please reply cause i'm thinking of making onefor pvp and need a few ideas on where to start and all
Ninjitsu still works well as long as you have a good amount of money to spend. Many go with Willpower b/c you don't have to build for KB, it's easy to cap off HPs with accolades I believe and has great in house perception. Based on this, it is the least expensive of the two secondaries. -
Question for the experts before I start working on my 1st MM. Of Demons and Robots, which goes better with Poison overall to be a hard target killer? I read that Assbots have -regen and Demons have exotic damage output. It looks like Poison has -50% regen in Envenom but not sure how well that plays out by itself.
Thanks in advance. -
Quote:Thanks Res.Yes, except this one,
1. She is NOT going to be an Amazon. Just a human vigilante.
The writer said he found an actresss who could fit the bill...being tall and stuff. :-)
Then you had to find your Wonder Woman.
It was not an easy search, but it went far quicker than I ever imagined. After writing this script, I remember looking at several people and going, "Yeah, now good luck trying to find her." She’s got to be strong, smart, emotionally accessible — and oh yeah, an Amazon! Good luck. I remember speaking to DC, and saying, "We may have to compromise on the physicality. We need to go with the best actress. And if the best actress is five-foot-five, we have to be open to that, because there’s too many layers for this character to also demand that she be nearly six feet tall." And then lo and behold, in comes this girl named Adrianne Palicki.
I had seen her on Friday Night Lights and I always liked her work, but I didn’t get a sense of her stature. I guess he was sitting down in a lot of the scenes. So she stood up, and we met — eyeball to eyeball — she smiled ... and I knew during the course of the conversation that this was Wonder Woman. I just knew it. I had an instinctive feeling that this was her. So then she read. And she was. And she is.
Points 4 & 5 sound like deal breakers for me. I don't need remakes to stick to 100% of the comic lore but c'mon...
Why not update the new Thor movie to reflect a young version of Thor that heads to Midgard to hang out with a bunch of Norse mythology studying, Mjolnir necklace wearing, frat house partying dudes that do beer bongs out of hammer shaped funnels? He could do battle with their overbearing parents, the evil community college staff members and the rival Loki worshipping frat, 'I Felta Thi'. -
I didn't feel like searching the whole thread but wanted to confirm something I found online.
1. She is NOT going to be an Amazon. Just a human vigilante.
2. Her name is Diane Prince
3. She runs a multi-billion dollar corporation during the day.
4. At night, she dons the costume and runs around fighting crime.
5. She has a scooby gang of computer/research nerds that work for her in her basement or something.
Is this true? -
Just caught this. Is it me or does Wonder Girl look like she ate something that put a bad taste in her mouth and is now chasing the chef down the street in slow motion?
I immediately thought WW meets 90210 when this pic popped up. -
Quote:Yeah, exactly the same I was thinking. While Envenom has the -regen aspect covered, I'm not sure how powerful it is at -50%. Thanks for the help again man. It's a hard call really. The different damage types is a big plus to demons. -Regen from the assault bot is not a small deal either. Another factor you might note is that the ember demon will heal YOU. That can be huge. Truthfully -regen is needed on some hard targets while having an ice component attack might be big on big burning foes like Baphomet.

Thanks Psy. Out of Demons/ or Robots/, which goes better with Poison overall to be a hard target killer? I read that Assbots have -regen and Demons have toxic dmg etc. Thanks in advance.

Not trying to derail the post, but I don't see many /Poison threads. Quick question b/c I am thinking about either a Demon/Poison or Robot/Poison MM...does the Demon Prince go into melee often enough to utilize Noxious Gas?

Quote:I agree with you to an extent, but you are talking apples and oranges. I don't think M was comparing a DOd/SOd toon to an IOd toon for the sake of his discussion. If you take two players that pump the same amount of money into the same build...don't you think the more "skilled" PvPer will usually win?So my level 20 character still in DOs can beat your level 50 with maximum purples and PVP sets because I'm more skillful?
Not going to happen.
Even a level 50 in SOs/standard IOs has no chance against a character specifically built for PVP.
Hell, even a level 50 with a few sets here and there has no chance against a character specifically built for PVP. They will have soft-capped defenses regardless of their AT, permahasten, tons of +damage and +HP/Regen over you.
There's no skill at all involved in CoH's PVP. It's all about whoever pumps the most money into their character.
Also, he is talking about what the heart of this thread is based, team oriented PvP. One person with a purpled out toon and a meh team isn't going to beat a solid team of non purpled members consisting of support, damage etc. -

Quote:More people than not prefer PvE over PvP, but that can be said about pre-i13 PvP as well...I agree that the new system hasn't helped. I do casual zone stuff and PvP is a nice break from..."Go Save Scientists" from a cave full of CoT.You see and this is why I will never PvP under this system.
You are going to have to teach players how to play a game they have been playing? Yes, it is as bad as it sounds.
Have you seen the Arcana posts of how PvP works? You literally would require a degree in math to work out what is happening and why.
Even with the wacky mechanics (which aren't difficult to grasp really), the challenge is a good distraction from PvE sometimes. -
On my Scrapper, I focused my AOE through Lightning Field, CI, JL and Lightning Rod. I skipped TS b/c of the long animation time and just use Charged Brawl & Havoc Punch with damage procs for fast activating attacks along with the others. TS is real sexy though, kept it on my Stalker.

Quote:This for the most part. I started to want a change of pace awhile back and went rediside, but realized it was a little barren. I changed servers to Freedom and there are always people playing villains. I even found 2 large/great VG/coalitions and now never have to worry about finding teams.I like both. The villain-side is a nice change of pace and lets me play someone with a different mindset although I find mercenary types fit in best. I have used AE to modify the way several of the regular contact's stories play out so that they favor my character better and make me feel less like a lackey.
I like hero-side mainly because that's where my friends like to stay and there always seems to be more to do, TF's to join, etc. It's also easier in the sense that contacts are plentiful, bank jobs are optional, and the stories generally fit my characters.
On average I'll play my villains once or twice a week and my heroes the rest of the time.
I basically switch back and forth now depending what TF/SF I'm on and what toon is the best match, but I am redside more than not. -

C.A.P.E is in the initial stages of forming a more player friendly version of a PvP league. For those Interested in helping to shape this league, there will be a vent discussion on Thursday, March 17th @ 7 pacific 10 eastern. You must be a member of C.A.P.E to attend the meeting. To join please head to www.championcape.com.
The goals of this league will be a mixture of all lvls of pvp'er. From the new to the more veteran pvp'ers who wish to help mentor and foster those of us along who are willing to learn in a fun, no pressure, kind of atmosphere. We hope to have core teams with people also seclected from a draft. We're also currently kicking around a "round robin" style of matches. Like I said, this in the initial stages.
We hope by Involving others to the discussions, together we can all come up with something that would be fun and yet competitive for us all. Hopefully by the end of the meeting we can put something on paper and get the PvP ball rollin'!
Peace. -

Quote:So is this the Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl show?DC finally released a photo of the new Wonder Woman for the TV pilot. Not a bad cross between the classic and the new looks.

Quote:Agreed and it is a blanket statement, but I never said there weren't great people to play with on Freedom. I'd just hate to see all the enthusiastic, cheery EUers come over ready for a greet and meet in zone and get slaughtered by Stalkers and Psi/Em Blasters all day without a heads up is all.A blanket statement is a blanket statement is a blanket statement. There's still plenty of perfectly excellent people to PvP with. Yes, even on Freedom.
I've seen players step into zone, say "hello all, I'm new" and then with minimal replies back...people target that person and kill him/her over and over again until they leave. There are very cool people on Freedom, but there is a certain reality that exists behind that as well. -
Quote:The post is about WSs versus PBs, not PBs compard to Blasters/Dominators etc in PvP. Yeah, you can play a Psi/Em Blaster like everyone else if money is tight. Like Big Soto said, I rather not use the same builds as most of the population.building pbs for pvp is very pointless because your going to put in more money than you would building anything else for pvp and get a minimal return from it. not to mention pvp is broken.
i think soto had a human build that is floating around that is crazy expensive. basically all the attacks were proc/nuc slotted and all the res/heal powers used glad armors and pana's for HP buffs.
the easiest thing to do is slot nova for doing damage and dropping out to heal(while still slotting for HP) since most of the attacks have a higher range and still do some ok damage. but flying in zone is very risky.
in this specific situation, the pb wins hands down because WS are just that bad in pvp, not because pbs are that good in pvp. they just kind of happened to have all the stuff that was least hit by i13.
I added a lot of +range and procs to my PB and get plenty of kills from 170ft blasts in Nova form. It works fine; I get way more kills than deaths and only worry about webnaders once in awhile. With 3 heals and a built in phase, I don't even sweat webnaders much.
