I guess Im part of the minority that plays both sides? I get bored with one and then switch to the other for 3-6 months at a time.
Ive noticed in the past when this issue has come up that it sounds like many people commenting must be very "Roleplayerish" in their view? With the comments about redside looking dingy, depressing, too gloomy etc...I guess I've noticed this but it never impacted me running my toons from one mish to another or one zone to another. -
Quote:LOL, I never said give up. My PB is in the top three toons I regularly play. My comments towards you are more along the lines of...you type up walls of text, the same walls of text that people have been sharing for years about dissatisfaction with PBs.No you should stop making pointless comments that all boil down to "Just give up".
Its your internet and your time, please carry on and I hope you get some satisfaction at least in venting. It just so reminds me of people on the PvP forums still VEHEMENTLY compaining about i13 changes. It is what it is, you can rant/rave constantly about what you dont like and appear to be pissed off to no end or you can make the most of what is currently offered and enjoy the game. -
Quote:Another strawman deal here lol -Unfortunately, my confidence isn't all that high.
And they're busy? Really? They seem to have enough time to talk about all their new shinies, and how they're gonna keep making new shinies...while their rusty old crap continues to rust...
They've said they want to work on Khelds, all I want is a show of just how serious they are. Not random changes that cause more problems (Im looking at you lightform and kheld resistance cap). I love a good discussion, but if they're gonna be working on kheldians I think they need to keep us in the loop. They seem real talkative in the closed beta when there was only, as far as I know Grey Pilgrim to talk to...and then they go stone cold silent the minute we hit open. Id love to discuss the changes they've already made with them, but they wont even talk to us about THAT!
Im not asking too much here, I just want some sign that we're not just talking to ourselves in here.
If you tell your wife that you really want to spice up the bedroom and she says shes gonna work on it, but never does and years pass by...whats that tell you?
You are not talking to yourself hence the great discussions found just in this one thread. The hundreds of pages of people talking about changes, improvements and ideas on the Kheld forums seems to indicate thought that the devs have other priorities. Should i go back to my chocolate cake for dinner reference? -
Quote:The world hunger concept was more about me wishing people felt as strongly about that problem as you do about Kheld changes, but strawman is as strawman does. All I'm saying is that you can ask the devs to talk to you about something that people have been asking the devs to talk about for years. Honestly (no snarky), I hope it works out better for you than it has for everyone before you that have felt so passionately about the same topic.Again, strawman.
Your dinner, and world hunger have about as much in common with the devs talking to us as ponies have with nuclear physics.
Im not asking for anything but the devs to talk to us. Im not asking for my changes, im not asking for your changes, im not asking for anything but the devs to TALK TO US so that between us we can figure out the best way to go about changes in a way thats good for them AND for us.
Is that really asking too much that the people making the changes talk to us? -
Quote:Just like with PvP, the devs know what changes players want for Khelds. Like...I don't have to discuss it with my folks that I'd rather eat chocolate cake for dinner most nights, they're already privy to the concept since I'm so vocal about it. They just chose to give me spinach and liver instead for whatever crazy reasons.Strawman.
Can they be fixed without drastic changes? No, I dont think they can. I dont think the AT's need a complete overhaul, but I do believe its going to take more than making this power cool down a little faster, or that power have a longer duration.
But im not asking for any of that...Im not asking for anything but the devs to TALK TO US, so we can figure out the best way to change things with the LEAST amount of making people unhappy. Someones gonna be unhappy regardless, but id rather we figure it out between the players and the devs rather than the devs just make changes and hope they dont make everyone grumpy.
It's healthy/productive to talk about Kheld or PvP changes on the forums, but there has to come a point after years of the same ideas being presented when you realize there's no point in getting worked up or expecting a lot.
As some say, "hope for the best, but expect the worst". -
If people felt this strongly about world hunger, noone would go starving.
The devs will eventually fix Khelds or they won't. I love mine but y'know...meh. -

Quote:Totally agree @ DK.And I still can't understand where this attitude comes from. The trials got boring for me, too, but they didn't take anything away from the rest of the game I love.
On top of it all, I didn't even delve into the Incarnate play until about 2 months after it was released...between juggling way too many toons and getting a few of them accoladed for PvP etc, I just never bothered with it. Even now, I'll do a trial here and there, but 75% of my toons have not become"Incarnate qualified".
And to Spit Fire...
can I have your stuff please
1st! -
Could have also dual boxed; one Tank could have aggrod the power outage and the other could have continued ITFing.
-
Power outages are never a good excuse for dedicated gamers to duck out on a TF sir. Couldn't you have driven to the next town over, stayed in a hotel and finished the ITF?!?!
-
Like the other 10 people that PvP in this game with a cpl replying here...either zone or arena builds.

"Triumph PVE is rolling along just fine in my experience."
I transferred out of Triumph a few years ago; I decided to try villains out around that time and redside was a ghost town. I still have toons blueside there and when I log into AP...I barely see a handful of people, if any.
So I know there must not be any PvP going on -
Quote:Good point E.Best thing about a hurricane?
No lines for the rides on the Boardwalk!!!
Also...
maybe MTV will continue filming episodes of 'The Jershey Shore' with most of the cast members meeting untimely demises (not really wishing any harm, but I like the idea of it). -
Quote:I hear ya Sam.On the contrary, I so would! Now, please understand that I don't believe people in wheel chairs are weird, but the I love weird concepts like the OP describes. The idea that a hero in his/her secret identity is an actual invalid, yet is able to become a strong and able crime fighter via super power handwaving is amazingly cool, I'd say. Actually, that's pretty much who and what MechaMaid from the Spinnerette comic is.
We already have a Rocket Board, I'm assuming a wheel chair might be able to use the same tech to disable our powers, keep us moving at a set speed and disable jumping. I'd pay for such a power. Not much, mind you, but I'd pay for it
So thats 2 people in the game that would pick the wheelchair option -
NJ shore area here and I can actually see the storm coming now...
wait a minute...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
**end of transmission** -
Quote:On top of the difficulty in pulling it off...I can't imagine many ppl would use it. I like your fantasy idea thoughI would like to see wheel chairs be added to costume legs. I don't know if this can be done technically. I just know in rl I'm in one.
Now for the fantasy. I am rolling down the street in King's Row, have a hellion try to "take a bat to my skull", take a swig of my potion (ty super science booster pack!) and *poof* turn into my tank and beat "the tar" out of him. /smile -

Quote:San, you run that KM/Elec Scrapper right?I play pretty much exclusively redside. I do pop into SC occasionally and I don't remember any real standout katana stalkers playing there (katana?). The fact that you won't even name the toon does nothing to raise my expectations either lol.
I'm too busy RPing in Pocket D on Virtue lately since my toon slots on Freedom are full at the moment. But I've seen and talked to 4s Katana Stalker in SC in the past...kind of hard to miss him since he's the only Katana Stalker I've ever seen. He was always redside prior to GR so if you were red as well...probably just never noticed him. -

Quote:All good man, I'm not ancient yet, but old enough to realize there is wisdom grounded in the concept of "to each their own". I'm not a musical authority either, like you, I have a solid feeling towards what I like. Unlike you though, I try not to take away from any artist just because I dont like their particular style.CrazyJerseyan, that was a very well thought and reasoned explanation. While i still disagree with the "talent" of Winehouse, I can at least respect that I'm not the musical authority. I'll even listen to reasons why people like her and I can kind of understand. As of today Bruno Mars is the only "artist' I refuse to listen to people defend. At least Winehouse has a leg to stand on. Mars makes Winehouse look like the greatest talent ever born on this planet.
Sorry, I veered into hatred of Bruno Mars. I'll stop now.
However, well said Jersey.
I obviously live in NJ and enjoy a little Bruce Springsteen and in a smiliar vein can jam to some Bob Dylan when the feeling moves me even though I wasn't exposed to these artists growing up. My mother on the other hand hates both of them based on their voices and lyrical content, she just doesn't "get it" (she grew up in the soul/R&B camp and is rather exclusive in her tastes). All I can do is smile and say, "yeah yeah" when she tells me to change my cd if I'm driving her from point A to B. Really though, how can anyone take away from The Boss or Dylan?
It's really just about recognizing that because you don't like a paticular artist or musical style (YOU CANT SPELL CRAP WITHOUT SPELLING RAP!!! - love when ppl say that one lol), it doesn't take away from the fact that an artist actually has talent or a music genre has value. I have zero affinity in the creative field of making music or being able to sing/hold a note...which probally makes it easier for me not to pass judgements so quickly on an artist claiming they have "no talent".
As far as Bruno, I feel he does a nice job combining old and new and I dont think that its easy creating songs that contain a mixture of rock, soul and hip-hop that play out well enough for the masses to enjoy overall. I don't know what you like, but if you're not a big fan of those genres of music, I can see why you could discount him.

Quote:His name IS FourSpeed...so "Regards, 4" in closing doesn't sound stupid at all.Do you mind telling us where you generate your numbers? I think your generally wrong, so your attitude amuses me. Also, your "Regards 4" makes you sound stupid. Please, comment some more on what you think of my opinions
And this thread definitely was a joke, same joke people have been telling since i13.
Such animosity...please continue channeling your rage into the internet. -
Quote:I would think the comparison has to deal more with how tragically history can repeat itself...with genius also comes madness anyone? Very different music styles with Joplin being ahead of her time and like the first female rockstar I was ever aware of.So I heard someone on the radio today compare Amy Winehouse to Janis Joplin. It was easily one of the worst comparisons EVER since Joplin had an actual talent and Amy had a needle and a microphone.
Had to share with someone. Lucky you!
I think though that I can see why some would portray Winehouse as being untalented & plain terrible. It seems to me that people who listen moreso to rock N roll would prefer Joplin and those that are into RnB/soul may prefer Winehouse. No comparisons, but its like the people that are in the Temptations camp versus the Rolling Stones camp...I'm just thankful that I'm a fan of both and can appreciate the different genres.
But...
- both were vocal powerhouses, almost impossible soulful voices that I found hard to believe came from such scrawny "white" chicks (no offense intended, just saying)
- both had very public struggles with alchohol/substance addictions
- both attribute their inspirations to begin singing to African-American blues and soul artists
- both, regardless of musical direction, were unconventional singers that exploded into the mainstream like supernovas
- both styles were focused on the 60s, not that Joplin had a choice; Winehouse was also mostly a 50s-60s revisionist singer
- both were an interesting mix of raw talent and poor impulse control
You could find a dozen more comparisons if you were interested in digging up info...I personally think both were amazing. I try not to focus on comparing one to the other in the overall scope of talent b/c Joplin wins hands down obviously (due in part b/c she was like I said, ahead of her time). On the other hand, you can't take away from Winehouse having written most of her songs, having racked up monster record sales between Europe and America and having received 6 Grammy nods (5 wins) by the age of 24. -
