Quote:I thought the same initially.I thought this was going to be a thread about Warwolves and their various incarnations prior to being Warwolves suddenly becoming super-speeders every time a slow is used on them.
There are some powers which slow attack rate AND movement speed - Snow Storm is one of them, I think...
I would go with slotting a -recharge proc too, however. And isn't -recharge far more useful in PvP anyway?
As far as PvP, I don't think there are many that focus on -rech (Ive only seen a handful of players even talk about it) since +damage seems to be the be all to end all since i13. Even more support oriented toons focus on damage more times than not. -
Toatally agree and never understood why this never happened or at least, why they never brought Mids personnel on board.

Thanks so much for all the hard work/dedication.
Its not much, but donation inbound. -
Quote:I was going to say the same but you beat me to it. Some servers are pretty weak even on blueside, so you can imagine what their redside looks like. Also, are you on the same server as the OP? Different servers have very different experiences red and blue side. Not to mention time of day, etc. Otherwise, good advice.
Protector is kind of empty Red side at all hours, but Victory I find folks on Red side during the daylight hours, for example. -
Quote:Being proactive is a good thing, b/c you never know. There was one time around i13/i14 when Mids wasn't updated for like 2-3 issues if I remember correctly and I almost went crazy.Well I broke down and overwrote Electrical Blast for Beam Rifle to go on my Beam/Time corr (already overwrote Storm Summoning for Time last month) and planned my build and sets, then got him done.
So, after all that... I bet Mids updates tomorrow. It's the 'car wash/thunderstorm' effect. -
Thanks as always Midster for the hard work and dedication.
Side note, I always wondered why NCSoft doesn't actually have a 1 or 2 personnel for a program like this. I dont know how I could enjoy the game without it.
Any thoughts? -
Agreed, but I think Virtue has one or two nights a week that zone PvP is active as well (Ive been working nights, so not sure when exactly).

The show could have been done a number of different ways, but they stayed true to their format which is to pit two forces against each other. Add too many bells/whistles, discriminating factors/qualifiers and it takes away from the simplicity of the concept.
Interesting show and I liked the 'To Be Continued..." part -

Quote:Agreed...even the heroes/villains that arent superpowered like Batman and Hawkeye are built like super soldiers b/c they represent that "god factor". I can deal with that...Im moreso glad to see the diversification of characters in comics now since I started reading them about 30 years. Its still funny to look back at oldies and see the few black heroes with names that could only include their ethnic makeup (BLACK Lightning, BLACK Manta, BLACK Racer, BLACK Vulcan etc) or Asian American heroes that could only activate their powers by screaming in Japanese, Chinese etc.Superheroes are our modern day god myths, a continuation of the stories of the ancient Greeks and Norse and Celts and what have you. Their our Zeus' and Osiris' and Odins (and Thors, ba dum bum pssh!). They're what we aspire to be, beautiful in body and spirit and power. So naturally they look like supermodel Olympic athletes (unless looking otherwise is part of their schtick).
Overall Im glad to see this movie coming out and satisfied they got qualified actors to play the roles of one of my favorite groups. Thats all that matters really. -

Quote:I really liked this post...hits the nail right on the head.Freedom is my home server, and I enjoy playing there. Atlas Park is indeed packed full of farmers who clog up broadcast with their farm advertisements, however, walk outside of Atlas and there are a ton of people who enjoy playing content missions. For the people who say they can't form a team on Freedom that isn't a farm, I call malarkey, because I do it everyday and sometimes have to turn people away.
I think it was Bill who said earlier in the thread that Atlas broadcast is the "Smog of the Freedom server", which is a great analogy. When you live in a big city, you have to deal with the downside in order to take advantage of the many benefits. Fortunately Freedom's downside is pretty much limited to a single zone.
Freedom is a fine server full of fine people. -
Quote:Why cant the purpose of the game be to play and have fun AND play and have fun the way some people want to play and have fun their way?Did you completely forget this is suppose to be a GAME!? A game where you like it to bust npc heads in... A game to enjoy. Not a money or ind gathering tool.
You are so lost I cannot believe!
I have friends that love to collect badges...in a game where you can fly around and shoot bad guys with fricken laser beams from your eyes to their face.
I have friends that love to build bases...in a game where you can fly around and shoot bad guys with frickin laser beams from your eyes to their face.
I have friends that love to mass make believe money by manipulating the market system...in a game where you can fly around and shoot bad guys with frickin laser beams from your eyes to their face.
I have friends that enjoy pushing their toons to the max limit and then fighting against other 'maxed' toons to the death in the arena...in a game where you can fly around and shoot bad guys with frickin laser beams from your eyes to their face.
I have friends that love to stand around in Pocket D and roleplay their background with others all day...in a game where you can fly around and shoot bad guys with frickin laser beams from your eyes to their face.
I could go on for another page about the different ways people on my global list actually love to play this game. Most of these are not for me...but its their money and they want to play the game this way becuase it is fun to them. Other than interrupting the flow of conversation in AP's broadcast system, I don't get why people still get so fired up about farmers, farmees or farming.
Were there this many "play the game the way I think its fun" posts when people stuck to farming in PI or GV issues ago? -
Quote:The core group of people in my SG on Virtue transferred from Champion server recently. I went there to see what Champion was all about and was amazed to find during the middle of the day, there were only 3 players in RWZ struggling to put together some trial runs/teams...thats when I realized why my SG had transferred to a new server. With a couple of notable exceptions, This is pretty much how Champion works. I am always amazed when I hear that other servers don't use the global system as much as we do.
When theres only like 50 people on a server (not sure the exact # obviously), compared to 50 people alone in RWZ forming trials...its always easy to be so organized as to use channels for everything. It seems to me that its actually moreso necessary than anything else.
I think if there was a "Farming Channel" on Freedom, the text would fly too fast for it to be useful.
No drama, just saying... -
Quote:This rite here.Do you solo or team more?
If you team more, stronger debuffs would be better. The extra damage you get from scourge is gonna be a lot smaller, relatively, than extra damage for everyone on your team via debuffs.
If you're gonna solo more, I'd go with the Corr version--after all, debuffs are only as good as the attacks that follow them. -
Quote:Freedom gets all the farmers from Virtue and in return, Freedom then sends Virtue all the RPing catgirls it ever needs to sustain itself. I think its a fine tradeoff. When this happens on Virtue these days, the result is remarkably different. Occasionally you'll see one person in chat asking for a farm, and then you'll get a long, never-ending list of replies ((many of them in double brackets!)) demeaning the player and suggesting they go play on Freedom. In many cases the farmer stays quiet after that.
See? Freedom players insist Virtue never does anything nice for them. But on the contrary, we send them lots of farmers!
And yes, like Claws&Effects said...they should take the AE building out of AP. New players probably get sucked into the farming aspect of the game and rarely leave. Could you imagine if Pocket Ds RPing was open BC in AP on Virtue? Grown men would be stuck roleplaying catgirls and never see the light of day. -

I moved over from Freedom to Virtue and as mentioned earlier, Freedom does appear to be the "farming server". I don't spend much time in AP and not sure why most do other than to hang out on lv50s and chat with their buddies (which can be done anywhere). As much as I see forumites complaining about farm broadcasts on Freedom, I just never understood why it was such a source of angst for anyone...like any aspect of the game, its just how some people prefer to play.
I have a farmer on Virtue (for SG mates) and while running for tickets/money, I will often BC invite if the farm hasn't filled up with coal/SG members. I get tickets/money which leads to random rolls/money and my friends get past the levels they dont want to play or push a toon to 50 for PvP/TFs...its a win/win.
I also have a farmer on Freedom and since the norm is to pay for farms, I will invite those that want to pay to +4/x8 for a few million just to raise money for my multiple toons that have multiple builds.
Other than the lv50 player that doesnt know how to get to RWZ, I dont know why people are so adverse to farming or paying for farms since it doesnt impact the majority of players if you dont allow it. -
Quote:Great information and Im going to take what you said under consideration if I can ever get away from work and back to the gameI like any of the Judgements other than cone, too, but I think I'd go with a ranged AOE over a PBAOE on a squishie, even one that is often in melee. There will be times when the AOE is brutal in the thick of things, and for those times, Pyro or Ion will still be useful. But it is *dang* hard to knock the big damage debuff of void, I'll admit. It's just that in my experience, that when I'm parked next to a meat shield and am starting to get hammered, the offenders are usually AOEers at range, and thus the -damage won't help me much, as it won't tag the people blasting me. It really comes to to playstyle tho, between Pyro, Void, and Ion.
I'll second the vote for reactive with no reservations at all.
For Destiny, I'd pick any except barrier. Your defense should be sufficient for most situations, and your comments tend to support this.
So, Clarion. Great Mez protection. Even vs Ghost Widow. And, you can pop it while mezzed so you might not ever need BFs again. Save your Inspire slots for greens, and Oranges. And Clarion is a big boon to your squishie teammates, too, and even the not so squishie ones vs GW, Imperious, or Fear effects (which a lot of melee types don't have great protection from), or such like.
Ageless... Who doesn't like a team wide Speed Boost. And the often overlooked benefit, debuff protection. There are a lot of softcapped builds out there that vs certain enemy types suddenly aren't softcapped. Cascading defense failures still happen plenty often. They'll happen a lot less with the right Ageless...
And lastly rebirth is an extra heal (ho-hum) but a huge regen boost.A lot of extra regen is never a bad thing. Every build will like that.
So, for me, Destiny is also a total toss up. It's so close I plan to get each of them on a lot of my alts..
Note: I'm not knocking Barrier, but in my experience, the one place where you really want it (in the iTrials) I almost always find I have 2 or three on me at all times anyhow, since so many other people take it.
Thanks a lot. -
I agree to an extent Oath. It is what it is and believe me, Im not some crazy "he/she HAS to look this/that way cuz thats the way it is in the comics/novels" kind of guy. Even though if you take a look at comics, like 95% of the heroes/villains look like CPT America...a bunch of super soldiers and supermodels. There are exceptions like Wolverine whos like 3ft4, but hes still built like a midget super soldier.
-
Off the top, Id say Freedom/Virtue. If its correct to say there is a solid playerbase on the smaller servers, then its safe to assume the same can be said for Freedom/Virtue, just more of it. Also, the other concept is true too...more idiots, but being on the channels and in good SGs/VGs/coalitions...not so cool players become a non issue.

Quote:Again, I really appreciate the feedback and assistance. It basically is the opposite of Power Boost. For example, Benumb has -Special

Quote:Looks like Im working all weekend, but I will send you a tell regardless.I might be able to get on sunday Crazy. Just either send me a tell to @Boomie or a pm here. I don't have many red side toons but that's ok, I can always run with my Elec/Cold either side.
You could also pick a couple of new toons that you'd like to run on TFs and go from there; half the VG farms during the week for money and just to try new ATs.
